Suggested December 2023 Best City Builder Games For Iphone And Ipad In 2023
City builder games have been around for the longest time. Games of this nature give you plenty of freedom to let your creativity flow and exercise your resource management skills. Although most city builder games were available only on PC, there are some amazing city builder games for iPhone and iPad today.
1. SimCity BuildIt – Editor’s choice
SimCity BuildIt is one of the most comprehensive city-building games on iPhone. Of course, you’ve got the regular freedom to create and plan your city as the Mayor.
Whether you want to recreate Paris or an amalgamation of London and Venice, the choice is yours. Moreover, the game has an online component, making it more interesting than other city builders. In this game, you can connect with other players online to form Clubs.
Furthermore, you can also battle it against other Mayors in Club Wars. This mode is fun as you’ll have to defend your city from monsters and other disasters like storms. To progress further, you can research and build new technologies to get ahead of the competition.
The game has a steep learning curve, though. The first couple of hours can be frustrating due to the lack of resources.

2. Megapolis – Realistic economies
Most city building games on iPhone don’t feature a proper economic system. Even if it has an economic system, the mechanics are usually offshoots of economic concepts. However, Megapolis changes that and adds plenty of depth to the gameplay.
Players can also enter the arms race in a bid for total control over a particular area. Basically, this is one of the best city builder games on iOS, thanks to the deep gameplay mechanics.
Since the game can be played online, some challenges require you to rely on other players for resource donations. This is especially evident at the game’s beginning when you’re lacking resources and have to complete big projects. The developers should make resource management slightly easier for newcomers.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

3. Pocket City – For beginners to the genre
Not every city building game for iOS needs to have extensive gameplay nuances to attract players. For casual players, or players new to the genre, Pocket City features accessible but enjoyable gameplay.
The game’s simple as well, with basic resource management and the opportunity to grow your city. The more quests you complete, the more experience points and money you gain. You can use these rewards to further your city’s development. Additionally, the game doesn’t feature microtransactions!
However, if you’re a more seasoned player of the genre, the simplistic gameplay might induce boredom.
Price: $2.99

4. Forge of Empires – Highly scalable
The reason why Forge of Empires is one of the best city building games on iOS is simple. It provides extensive and scalable gameplay that will keep you occupied for hours.
The game starts you off in the Stone Age. As you develop your trading routes, diplomacy skills, and gather resources, you’ll be able to progress your empire to the modern age. You’ll also have to weigh all the possible outcomes before making a decision. Any wrong move could set your empire back by hundreds of years.
You can also expand your empire through diplomacy or military might. Whether you want to become a tyrannical yet strong-headed neighbor or a trading empire with connections all over, the choice is yours.
The in-game microtransactions are highly expensive, though.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $2.99)

5. City Island 5 – Maximum content
City Island 5 combines elements of city building and exploration to provide a game that will surprise you. It has extensive content that will keep you engaged and playing for hours on end.
Unfortunately, the game’s latest updates have been causing the game to crash far too often. Hopefully, the developers will fix this on the next patch.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $1.99)
Download
6. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI – Extremely detailed
This wouldn’t be a list of the best city building games if I didn’t include Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. The Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise has been a staple of the genre for well over two decades. It’s a turn-based strategy game that combines elements of city building.
Moreover, the game supports cross-platform saves. This means that if you’re playing on your iPhone and save the game, you can boot up the game on your iPad and start from where you left off!
Unfortunately, the free version of the game is highly limiting, as you can only take 60 turns before having to buy the game.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $1.99)
Download
7. The Simpsons: Tapped Out – For casual players
The Simpsons is an iconic show and deserves a good game. With The Simpsons: Tapped Out, you get the most Simpsons-esque premise for a city building game on iOS.
Unfortunately for Homer, his antics have caused a meltdown and destroyed most of Springfield. Now, it’s up to you to rebuild Springfield in your image. It is based completely on your creativity and ideas. The game comes in the typical The Simpsons aesthetic as well, making for a nostalgic game.
The gameplay mechanics are simple enough and will be straightforward for most casual players. Moreover, since you’ve got a lot of freedom in the game, you can either rebuild or ruin Springfield on a whim!
The game suffers from glitches, though. Players have reported being logged out of the game randomly.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)
Download
8. The Battle of Polytopia – Minimalist and elegant
This is another turn-based strategy game that incorporates the city building elements. However, the visual style is the first aspect of this game that you’ll notice immediately.
Unlike other city builder games for iOS, The Battle of Polytopia has a minimalist, pixel art style that will catch your attention immediately. It’s easy on the eyes, and the gameplay also complements the aesthetics. The game’s premise is to build and expand your tribe while competing with other tribes online in a turn-based competition.
It’s got some surprisingly deep gameplay mechanics without making the gameplay inaccessible to newcomers. If you want to try out the games from this genre, this should be one of the first games.
However, the game can be too simplistic for veterans of the genre.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)
Download
9. TheoTown – Time to micromanage
If you’re someone who likes to control each aspect of their city builder games on iOS, this is the game for you. TheoTown is simplistic and elegant and features gameplay mechanics that will challenge you endlessly.
However, the challenge doesn’t come from overly difficult gameplay. In fact, it arises from the fact that every little detail needs to be managed. The type of structures you build, how you build or connect them – each aspect deeply impacts the overall gameplay.
Moreover, this game has a huge modding community that adds features and aspects to make the game more realistic.
Unfortunately, the game’s visuals aren’t all that good and could do with a rework.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)
Download
10. DomiNations – Detailed strategy elements
There’s a reason why DomiNations is one of the most popular city builder games on iOS. It makes you a veritable part of the virtual world history through gameplay.
Of course, you start small with a settlement, intending to convert this settlement into one of the greatest civilizations on the planet. However, it’s no easy task.
As you progress through the ages, you can enlist the help of historical figures like Leonardo Da Vinci or Catherine the Great. Moreover, you have the freedom to build World Wonder monuments too.
The online gameplay aspects are pretty good as well. You can form alliances to strengthen your nation’s foundations with other players online. You could also wage war against other players in a bid for supremacy.
My only gripe with the game is the extensive list of microtransactions. While they make the game easier, it seems more like a cash-grab opportunity than an extension of the game.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $3.99)

Best Zombie Games For Iphone And Ipad In 2023
The zombie genre seems to resurge back into prominence regardless of how many movies, TV shows, or games are released with the same tropes. People seem to love zombie games allowing you to kill hordes of the undead. Even in 2023, it doesn’t seem likely that this genre will lose traction.
Admittedly, I’ve been a fan of the genre ever since I was introduced to it with AMC’s The Walking Dead over a decade ago. Since you’re reading this, I’m guessing that you love zombie games as much as I do. Keeping this in mind, I’ve curated a list of the best zombie games for iPhone and iPad. Let’s have a look!
1. Into the Dead 2 – Editor’s choice
When it comes to a zombie apocalypse, what goes through your mind? You have to kill as many zombies as possible and run fast to survive, right?
This is the same premise that powers Into the Dead 2. The first game was a huge hit amongst the users, and PikPok has brought forth the sequel with tonnes of new features.
This is one of the few free zombie apps for iPhone that utilize the idea of multiple endings based on the players’ actions throughout the game. The game’s objective is simple – kill as many zombies as possible in a bid to save yourself and your family.
The game offers plenty of options in weapons. How you kill zombies is up to you. Fancy hitting the buggers at close range with a shotgun? Or would you like to rain down bullet-hell on the zombies with your trusty machine gun? The choice is yours.
There are numerous environments in the game, each offering multiple ways to tackle the growing zombie threat. Also, the game can be played offline!
Unfortunately, users online have reported that the game’s energy mechanics are broken. Hopefully, the developers can patch this soon.

2. DEAD TRIGGER 2 – Action-packed zombie FPS
Zombie games often lose their way when catering to an audience with both action and a worthwhile plot. Fortunately, with Dead Trigger 2, you get non-stop action with surprisingly intricate gameplay.
Dead Trigger 2 is a shooting game that allows you to kill zombies in style. Every week, new tournaments online offer great rewards for killing zombies in the most imaginative ways possible.
On the gameplay front, you get an action game presenting you with numerous weapon choices – melee weapons, pistols, guns, and gadgets. You’re also tasked with building a personal hideout with the help of characters such as the Gunsmith and the Medic. As you improve your hideout, you get access to more characters and weapons.
There are 10 regions to unlock, and these regions provide the player with over 600 missions and storytelling campaigns. How you fare in the regions is based completely on your tactics and strategies.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $2.99)

3. Death Road to Canada – For casual players
Death Road to Canada could be the most random game you’ll ever play. I’m not stating this figuratively – I mean it literally!
The game’s biggest draw is that its levels are randomly generated – locations, events, skills, and survivors’ personalities.
In the game, you manage a group of survivors traveling from Florida to Canada, the last surviving nation on the planet after a massive zombie outbreak. On your travels, you’ll come across different survivors, events, and locales. Moreover, since every element is randomized, you can replay the game multiple times.
Additionally, you can create your character, thanks to the in-game Character Maker. How your character fares will be based on the decisions, you take in your game’s playthrough.
While the game is extremely fun, it tends to crash frequently. This lack of stability can hinder the player’s experience.

4. Plants vs. Zombies Heroes – Collectible card game
When you think of zombie games, you don’t usually think of them as collectible cards or board games. However, the geniuses behind the superhit Plants vs. Zombies series have managed to bring something worth your time.
Plants vs. Zombies Heroes is an online game. In this game, you choose from 20 unique heroes who are either plant-based or zombie-based. Each hero comes with unique powers and characterizations.
Moreover, you can build a hero crew by collecting cards from classic Plants vs. Zombies characters. Your hero’s gameplay will be tailored according to the cards you choose. Thankfully, the game gives you ample room to experiment with characters and combos.
Both the botanical and zombie heroes have their unique journeys and maps to follow. This adds a certain amount of replayability to the game.
As a freemium game, microtransactions are encouraged here. This may be an issue with new players who don’t wish to pay for in-game items.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

Unfortunately, the game’s scale often works against its favor as the AI can glitch at random moments.

6. Unkilled – Multiplayer zombie shooter
Although the game is best played online with friends, there’s a solo campaign as well. You take control of a character from an elite team called the Wolfpack, the midst of a zombie apocalypse in New York City. There are over 150 missions to play – adding elements of world-building to the game.
Additionally, you can also play the game against other players in PvP mode. Rise the rankings by winning matches and gaining “intel” to level up your character’s skill tree. At the end of the ranked duels and leagues, you can win attractive rewards as well.
The game suffers from microtransaction fever, though. If you’re looking for a completely free gaming experience, this may not be for you.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $2.99)

7. Mini DAYZ 2 – Old-school zombie game
Some of us prefer underrated games. While action-packed zombie games are great, there are a few hidden gems that can gift you with an amazing experience. Mini DAYZ 2 is one of those games.
The game’s aesthetic is similar to older GTA games, with a top-down view. This implies that you’re not playing the game from a side-scroller, third-person, or first-person perspective. You play the game with an overhead view.
As a zombie outbreak plagues the world, you have to save as many people as you can. On the road to survival, you will encounter multiple survivors and become their leader. Choose tasks for your crew to keep the camp running. On a personal level, you will have to monitor your character’s vitals too.
The game has a retro feel, and this doesn’t apply to just its aesthetics. The gameplay is also rather challenging. However, it never seems to overwhelm you with difficulty spikes.
The major caveat, however, is that the game is buggy. Its experience would be far better if developers ironed out these issues.

8. Kill Shot Virus – Zombie sniper shooter
There are plenty of sniper games out there. However, only a handful have tried to do something different with the genre. Kill Shot Virus is one of those games.
It’s essentially a sniper game similar to Hitman Sniper. However, instead of eliminating mob bosses and high-profile targets, you tackle zombies in over 100 missions.
You have to protect survivors and eliminate hundreds of zombies while you’re at it. Some sections of the game also provide you with close-ranged combat and unique zombies to bring some variety to the gameplay.
You can also play the game with friends and create a survival faction. With this faction, you can play online modes and climb the leaderboards.
Unfortunately, the game’s microtransactions are absurdly expensive, even for seasoned players.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $4.99)
Download
9. The Walking Dead No Man’s Land – Survival RPG
Would this even be a list for zombie game apps for iPhone if I didn’t include a game from the epic The Walking Dead franchise? There have been numerous games based on the series (not all of them good). Regardless, with The Walking Dead No Man’s Land, you get a great survival RPG.
The game follows the events of the show’s 11th Season. New episodes result in new missions, released every week. You can play multiple characters such as Shane, Beth, and Yumiko.
Essentially, the game relives key moments from the series. Besides, you have to collect survivors and train them to be an active part of the group. As the saying goes – a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Your crew’s survival will depend on basic resources, training, and strategic planning.
The game’s load times are extensive, though. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, it can get highly annoying.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $1.99)
Download
10. Zombies, Run! – Running game
We’ve all seen trailers of movies and shows based on the zombie apocalypse, where the people are running for their lives as hundreds of zombies come after them. What if you were that person running from zombies?
The concept is intriguing, and I believe that developers have executed it relatively well. You can combine the audio drama with songs from your playlist as you continue to evade the undead army. Thankfully, you’re also burning calories on your “supply runs”. As a great addition, the app syncs with Apple Health!
I wish that developers worked more on the in-built calorie counter, however. The counter seems highly inaccurate in calculating the calories burnt during runs.
Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $1.99)
Download
It’s an ‘infectious’ genre, isn’t it?
Although the zombie genre often seems saturated at the moment, I’m sure that game developers will look for more ways to diversify the genre. For the moment, though, this is my list of good zombie games for iPhone and iPad.

Best Ar Apps For Iphone And Ipad In 2023
Augmented Reality, a.k.a. AR, is often quoted as the next big thing. Thanks to this technology, iOS device owners can bridge the gap between their Reality and imagination. If you like to explore AR, you will surely love and enjoy this list of the best AR apps for the iPhone and iPad. Using the power of AR, these apps overlay virtual items onto the world around us in a fun, creative, helpful, and compelling way. From measuring things, creating 3D models, or place an animated GIF around your place, they are primed to augment your real world.
The world’s most popular navigation app, “Google Maps,” has jumped on the AR train as well. Dubbed as Live View, you can use Google Maps AR mode to navigate to your preferred navigation by adding virtual signs and directional arrows.
However, the feature is still in its beta phase and only available for limited locations that support Street View. So, if Live View is available at your end, it worth a try. Looking at Google’s track record and the possibilities of the technology, I do have high hoped for the feature.
2. Google Translate
On the risk of sounding like a Google geek (I don’t mind), I also nominate Google Translate. AR integration has made the app even more useful and user-friendly.
Just snap a photo of the text you don’t understand, and the app will translate the text in the picture in real-time. What’s more, if you have downloaded a specific language pack, the conversion can happen offline as well!!
Whether you are traveling or living in a new place, this app can surely give you a hand to resolve your language-related pickle.
3. Carrot Weather
Carrot Weather had already been one of my favorite weather apps. But with the introduction of an AR user interface, it’s become a certainty on my device. With this app, you have quickly access current, hourly, and daily forecasts.
4.
magicplan
– 2D/3D floor plans
Looking for a better app to let you create the floor plan more comfortably? You can’t get better than magicplan. Using this app, you will quickly create job estimates, plan DIY projects, view your space in 3D, and even furnish your home to your best liking.
By adding photos, objects, taxes, product price lists, and annotations, you can give the desired look to your project. It allows you to convert your favorite project in several file formats including PDF, JPG, DXF, PNG, SVG, and CSV.
Even better, you will view them in 3D and also share them with your friends.
5. GIPHY World: AR GIF Stickers
GIPHY World has brought GIFs and stickers into your real life too! This AR app allows you to add the animated GIFs around you; this feature allows you to record the video of your creation and blast it on social networking sites.
6. TapMeasure – AR utility
TAPMEASURE is designed to be a handy spatial utility app which anyone will find very useful. However, it can be one of the must-haves for interior designers, architects, contractors, real estate agents, appraisers and others.
What makes this app stand out is the ability to let you create quick, nearly accurate 3D models and measurements. It accurately detects rectangular objects such as doors, windows, artwork, and then quickly add them to your model.
Another notable feature of this app is that it automatically keeps picture frames and artwork perfectly leveled. Even better, it lets you export 3D models of rooms as SKP files.
If you are after an AR personal planetarium, look no further than “Night Sky”. The app works effectively in helping you identify stars, planets, satellites, and constellations just by holding your iOS device and Apple Watch to the sky.
Boasting more than 60 million stars and the 8X high resolution for light spectrum textures, Night Sky is a treat for those who dream to travel to the sky and explore it. Not to mention, it’s also got really cool sunrise/sunset effects and the daylight mode which adds some fun elements into the whole affair.
8. Holo
The one word that can ideally describe Holo is “Hilarious!” This app allows you to add a hologram of animals and people into your world. It lets you resize, rotate, and even move holograms so that you can place them flawlessly.
You will be able to walk around the character very much like the way you do in the real world. That’s not all; you can also capture the photo and video of it to share with your friends.
9.Vuforia Chalk
Vuforia Chalk employs AR to develop a powerful remote guidance app. It used live video, audio, and real-time AR to connect two people. In some way, it’s like making a FaceTime or any other video call.
But you can mark or draw arrows at the real-world objects you both are looking at through the camera. These markings can be seen by both parties involved.
Imagine an expert is instructing a field technician what and how to do specific steps via annotations on the live camera feed. What’s more, the chalk marks accurately stick to the object, even when the camera is shaking or moves around.
10. LEO AR
This one looks primed for shutterbugs. Yeah, you heard it right! Probably the best part about this app is the ability to create a fun-loving augmented reality video by selecting from a variety of interesting objects.
Not just that, the app also allows mirroring of other scenes to make the surroundings more beautiful. With the special effects like money falling and balloons flying at the disposal, it ensures you have the needed ammunition to add the x-factor to your story.
And just in case you are fond of exploring cool videos, you can explore a ton of clips shared by other users. Moreover, you also get the option to share your favorite content on social networking platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and more.
What’s Your Favorite?
Rest assured, I will keep on adding more exciting apps to this list so that you can quickly pick a stunner for your iOS device.
