Suggested December 2023 Confero 2 Is A Notification Badge Manager For Your Apps
If you have an iPhone, then you’re no stranger to notifications. In fact, if you have a lot of friends and use a lot of different kinds of apps, then you probably get flooded with notifications from day to day. These notifications clutter up your Home screen with badges, which aren’t exactly the prettiest things in the world to see.
A jailbreak tweak dubbed Confero 2 by AtomDevTeam lets you clean things up by grouping all your apps with missed notification badges into a convenient little box that can be invoked from anywhere. It also provides new notification badge theming options that are much nicer to look at.
Subscribe to iDB on YouTube
Once you install Confero 2, you’ll find a new icon in the Status Bar that, when tapped, displays all apps that have unread badge notifications waiting for your attention. You can swipe up on apps from this interface to clear the notification badges on a per-app basis, or you can swipe down on them to reveal what the notification is and interact with it.
Confero 2 also comes with notification badge theming options, which will be a sight for sore eyes to anyone who hates seeing the little red badges staring back at them from their Home screen.
As you can see, the themes for the badges are still noticeable, but subtler in how they present themselves such that they don’t distract you from your wallpaper and other Home screen elements. These are known as indeterminate badges.Configuring Confero 2
All of what you can do with Confero 2 can be configured from the preferences pane, which you’ll find in the Settings app after installation:
Here, you can play with the following options:
Toggle the tweak on or off on demand
Configure the blur style you want for the Confero 2 pop-up
Hide or show all badges from apps on the Home screen
Configure the appearance of indeterminate badges
Choose the behavior of the Confero icon in the Status Bar
In the blur settings, you can choose between light, dark, or automatic:
Moreover, from the indeterminate badge options, you can configure how they will look:
Your options include:
Toggling indeterminate badges on or off
Choosing the shape of the indeterminate badges
Choosing the color of the indeterminate badges
All changes you make are immediate without the need to respring your device after adjusting your settings.Wrapping up
Confero 2 is a huge improvement over Apple’s stock notification system because it lets you see everything at a glance instead of being spread out across numerous Home screen pages. This lets you address your notification badges more quickly and efficiently without having to worry about missing any of them.
For apps that display notification badges even when Notification Center indicates that you have no missed notifications, Confero 2 provides a deeper look into what’s really going on and provides mode options at a glance. That, paired with the ability to get rid of the ugly red notification badges, makes Confero 2 not only a functional improvement, but an aesthetic one at that.
If you’re interested in trying Confero 2, it’s available from Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $1.99. The tweak is a $0.99 upgrade for anyone who owns the original Confero.

After using more than 20 window manager apps on my Mac, I came back to BetterSnap Tool to use as my personal tool. Although it received a tough competition from our second and third place apps, there are certain features which gave BetterSnap Tool an edge over the others. Firstly, you can use both trackpad and keyboard to interact with the app. You can drag an app window in either of the four corners to resize them in a quarter of the screen size. To initiate split-screen mode, just the drag the app window to the sides of the display. Dragging it to the top will make an app go full-screen. The same configurations can also be achieved by hitting the user customizable hotkeys.
One of the major features which are lacking in other apps on our list is setting up customized snap areas. Basically, users can predetermine the size of the app window and assign a designated area to which the window will be snapped. There is no restriction while designating the area and the size of the app window. This is a very handy feature to have as you can set the window size as per your preference. This feature along with its snappy performance took BetterSnap Tool to the top of our list.2. Magnet
Magnet is the most reliable and snappiest window manager app of all the apps I tried. You can use both keyboard shortcuts and trackpad to resize your windows. An app window can be resized in the top, bottom, left or right halves or to a quarter of your screen size in either of the four corners. The only reason it did not top our list is the absence of the ability to customize the size of the app window. However, one thing which goes in its favour is that it is more affordable. If you are looking for a high speed and accurate window manager, this will be your best bet.
Install: ($0.99)3. Spectacle
Spectacle is an open source window manager app for macOS, so it’s completely free. Don’t be fooled by its price, as it goes head to head with our top pics. However, there is one missing feature which can be a deal-breaker for some users. Spectacle only lets you resize the window using user customisable keyboard shortcuts. There is no drag and drop feature to resize your windows here. However, you will not make any compromise in speed or accuracy while using this software. If you are looking for a free app which helps you manage your windows, this is the one for you.
Install: (Free)4. Window Tidy
Window Tidy’s approach of managing app windows is a little different from the top three picks on our list. When you hold an app window to drag, it gives you the option of different sizes and position of windows at the bottom of your screen. You can drag the app window to your required option to resize the app window. It even allows you to add your own custom sizes and positions. One missing feature is the exclusion of keyboard shortcuts to arrange your windows. However, it is one of the better tools if you want to use drag and drop feature to arrange your windows.
Install: ($0.99)5. GridSutra
Install: ($4.99)6. Mosaic
Mosaic is similar to Window Tidy but the only difference is that it gives you the window resizing option at the top of your screen instead of at the bottom. It also let you assign your custom spaces and sizes. In my opinion, it is even better than Window Tidy. There are default configurations. You just need to drag and drop a window in the right spot to arrange them. Hitting the right window does require a little more precision, as the window options are tinier. Also, it is priced on the higher side and the features it adds does not justify its price.
Cinch is a window manager app for Mac which is not heavy on features. It only offers three window resizing positions, left and right halves and full screen. However, it does that well. The app is very light and snappy. It is useful for people who do not want to remember custom hotkeys and want something which is simple and just works. You just drag and drop an app’s window to the left and right side to activate split screen mode. Dragging it to the top will make the app go fullscreen. The only problem is that for what it offers, the price is too steep.
Install: ($6.99)8. MOOM
If you have a problem remembering keyboard hotkeys and find dragging and dropping windows to arrange them a little cumbersome, this app is for you. You only have to remember one keyboard command which launches the app’s interface. The interface shows you a cheat sheet of commands along with their function. You don’t have to remember anything. One neat feature is that if you want to arrange an app’s window in such a way that it takes more than half of the screen, you can do it here. Just use Move & Zoom feature mentioned at the bottom of the cheat sheet. If you like instructions, try this one out.
Install: ($9.99)9. Divvy
Divvy offers a different approach to window resizing and charges a hefty price for that. When launched, the app interface is just a grid of squares which represent your desktop area. You can select an app and then select the squares to position your app in that area. However, this does make the process very slow. Also, managing multiple windows is a pain, as you have to select the apps individually to resize them. This app is best for people who are looking for an app which just lets them resize their app’s window and don’t necessary need to multitask.
Install: ($13.99)10. Amethyst

In the Summer of 2009 – Apple took a significant step in creating an entirely new and unique marketing channel: push notifications. Now, whether or not marketing was their primary goal for this service is debatable. But we know that push notifications are heavily used for both eCommerce and general communication. Google followed shortly after.
Over the years, a significant shift has been made in how push notifications are used. I still remember when during the early 2010s – a large proportion of blogs and magazines tried to use push notifications to collect subscribers. But that trend seems to have faded for good.
It makes little to no sense for users to subscribe with push notifications to blogs that they have only visited once. However, there are still plenty of ways to implement push notifications that boost your conversions, particularly for eCommerce-based platforms.
Besides, suppose you are serious about keeping up with a particular blog/magazine because it has great content. In that case, a more flexible approach is to use an actual RSS reader, many of which let you customize feeds, categorize them, and even save text directly. The most popular types of push notifications
If you never do shopping online – you probably won’t know that push notification are among the top 3 leading marketing techniques for promoting special offers and discounts.
Whether it’s alerting users about an abandoned cart, reminding them about a particular product, or performing trigger-based reminders: push notifications are extremely popular in eCommerce.Type 1: Abandoned cart reminders
There are dozens of different reasons why a customer might abandon their cart. And, it isn’t always about you. Sometimes it might be related to shipping issues, pricing, et al.
With push notifications – you can send timely reminders to your customers about the items they left in their carts. And, you can further extend this reminder by including a special offer.Type 2: Trigger-based notifications
Most push notification software provides extensive analytical tools that can provide an in-depth overview of how to best segment your subscriber base. Here are a few examples:
Personalization. Use the data you have about your subscribers and personalize messages to create a more unique communication experience.
Custom-made customer journeys. With this approach, you can trigger specific notifications based on the page (product, article, etc.) that the visitor is viewing. The same goes for when a specific action is completed.
Onboarding. Much like onboarding in email marketing – push notifications can also be used to create detailed introductions about your product or services.
The more data you have the easier it will be to create truly personalized campaigns.
The difference between push notifications and email marketing is that push notifications tend to generate an instant response. But, this also comes at a cost. If you go too “hard” and send frequent updates, chances are you’ll lose people’s trust and ultimately interest in your service.
So, when it comes to pushing content updates or new product announcements – think of ways you can do this without making the end-user feel like they’re being exploited.WordPress Plugins for Adding Push Notifications
The following segment highlights the best WordPress plugins for adding push notifications to your website, blog, or eCommerce store. All of the plugins have a free plan, though you should assume that the free plan imposes certain limits.

Furthermore, their collection of articles and tutorials on how to get the most out of push notifications is unmatched. In fact, if you do any search related to the topic, chances are a OneSignal article will be one of the top results.
And the number of active installations for their plugin also speaks for itself. So, what do you get with this plugin, and why is it so popular? Here are a few key features:
Universal Browser Support: OneSignal’s notifications work on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera, and all their Mobile-based counterparts.
Notify on Publish: Send out notifications whenever you publish a new blog post.
Analytics: Collect real-time data about which notifications get the most exposure and build a strategy based on that data.
Scheduling: Use your analytics data to schedule notifications based on factors like opening times and individual timezones.
Once you create a OneSignal account (for the API key) – you’ll get access to an extensive dashboard for adding and managing new notification streams. You also get plenty of opportunities to customize how your push notifications will look in the end.
Webpushr stands out with a detailed user interface directly in your Admin dashboard. From this UI – you’ll have access to comprehensive reports of how many subscribers you have, and the total conversion rate, but also track the ratio of opened and closed notifications.
Some interesting features that Webpushr provides are the ability to integrate your opt-ins together with your favorite CRM tool. This means you can assign things like email addresses and other details to each opt-in for your push notifications. In the long run, this will allow you to create personalized segments for all your campaigns.
And, last but not least, you can enjoy complete freedom in designing the style of each push notification you send. The interface for designing the notifications includes a vast array of options to make sure each notification looks the way you like.
Unlike the first two options – Perfecty stands out because it is a self-hosted solution, and its source code is also published on GitHub. In other words, you won’t need to signup to an external service or use API keys because all the notifications will be sent from your own server.
If you were to host your website on one of the cheaper DigitalOcean servers – you could achieve up to 10,000 notifications per minute. Another great feature is that Perfecty supports importing data from platforms like OneSignal and others. So, if you wanted to self-host your push notifications server; Perfecty will ensure you have an as little downtime as possible.
Granted, this plugin might not have all the quirks of actual venture companies, but it’s a fantastic starting point if you only care about sending the occasional updates.
One of Gravitec’s core strengths is its easy use of the plugin to automate notifications for new blog posts and weekly digests. You can directly add an RSS feed of your entire blog or specific categories, and Gravitec will automate the process of sending out notifications upon new updates.
Furthermore, you can create weekly digests which can be configured to include anywhere from top 3 to top 10 of your most popular blog posts for that week. This feature can also monitor the articles that a specific subscriber hasn’t seen yet. And, as such, provide them only with links that are still new to them. This feature alone makes Gravitec’s plugin highly desirable.
You also have plenty of options for customizing how the subscription prompt looks. This includes changing its placement, style, and messaging to the site visitor.
One of the ways in which iZooto differs from other similar services (and also the reason it deserves a spot in this article) is that iZooto is focused on publishers.
This is best exemplified through their custom AI engine, which can monitor user behavior and create truly personalized recommendations. Fully automated. This AI-powered approach will reap the most benefits for publishers with upwards of 1,000+ articles on their platform.
And, much like other solutions, iZooto does offer the option to migrate to their service.Summary
Overall, I’d say this is a rather diverse list of solutions you can try. We’ve looked at everything from developer-based services, to open-source alternatives, and publisher-based tools.
If you have never tried using push notifications as a marketing channel – this might be the best time to do it. At the very least, you could monitor how well your audience responds to it.
