Suggested December 2023 Designevo Logo Maker App For Mac
Logo designing is a wonderful art! As a kid, I would spend hours to create symbols and be extremely glad whenever my parents and teachers appreciated them. When my passion took me into the enormous world of graphics & design, I was able to learn the two most pivotal things about creating the sensational design: boundless imagination and the undying spirit to experiment. The third most significant thing in designing is “resource” that includes vast tools.
About a week ago, I received “DesignEvo”—the logo maker app for Mac—for review. The app appealed to me for various reasons, and I loved creating different symbols using its tools. The one quality that stood outright from the moment I launched onto it is the simplicity that gave the impression that anyone can create fascinating designs with ease. Read on…
Massive Library of Over 3,000 Customizable Logo TemplatesThe one feature, which I always want to have in my favorite logo maker app, is the large collection of pre-defined templates. And the app hasn’t disappointed me at all in this regard.
The huge library of more than 3,000 readymade templates is beautifully crafted. Available in a wide range of options like art & entertainment, technology, restaurant, fashion & beauty, education, pet, club, legal & politics, lifestyle and more, they won’t let your awesome concept run out of steam—on most occasions.
Depending on your theme, you can also search templates if your eyes aren’t able to spot them easily. And once you have found your favorite Launchpad, getting started with your work is a breeze.
More Than 100 Fonts and Attractive Text StylesWhile creating a logo, I try out multiple fonts just to ensure the design looks perfectly matched with the words. There are not too many logo maker apps for macOS, which offers fonts in abundance.
DesignEvo boasts over 100 rich fonts with beautiful text styles. So, you can decorate each word to your heart’s liking.
I have found all sorts of arsenals required to make wonderful designs in this app. More importantly, the tools are easy-to-use and can be mastered without much practice. Even if you aren’t great at creating symbols, you can surprise everyone by using the array of effective tools.
To get started, you can pick a befitting template from the various options or upload icons or images from your Mac. The app accepts three file formats like JPG, PNG, and SVG. I would have appreciated if there was support for some important file formats like TIFF, PDF, PSD, and HEIF. However, in most cases, you won’t run out of options.
Adjust opacity and use flips & mirror effectYou can easily adjust the opacity of your image. There is also an option to use flips and mirror effect for the selected element to make your design look more appealing.
Adorn Your TextThe eye-catching text adds the x-factor to a logo. DesignEvo offers you the desired control over editing font color, size, style, alignment, spacing, etc. And yes, you can also set curved text, which I personally find very attractive.
The glow effect adds magic to the words. Add an outline and freely move, resize as well as rotate elements.
Set Transparent Background Or Fill With Solid And Gradient ColorYou can set a transparent background or fill the image with solid and gradient colors.
Tweak canvas size and scale as needed. To ensure you have the desired freedom, the logo maker for macOS also lets you generate different layouts automatically. With the undo/redo option available, you won’t hesitate in trying out different things.
Support for Multiple LanguagesAnother significant feature of this app is the support of multiple languages including English, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Traditional Chinese. So, if you are not comfortable with English, you have the option to choose another language.
Price and AvailabilityDesignEvo is priced at $9.99 and available for OS X 10.9.0 or later (64-bit processor.)
Download
The Verdict
DesignEvo is pretty on point! Clean user-interface along with the easy-to-use tools enhance user-experience. The availability of a large collection of pre-defined templates further enriches it.
Simply put, the app is primed for those who want to create attractive logos fast without putting a lot of stress. I would recommend this app to you if wish to get on with logo designing or want to create striking symbols with ease.
Let me know what you think of this app and whether or not you’d like to give it a try.

Unclutter Mac App Review: A 3
Unclutter is a 3-in-1 file, notes, and clipboard manager for Mac. But why would you need or want something like this? Well, let me ask you a question before anything else; which of the two desktop view will you prefer while working?
While there might be a few who love and strive in chaos, most users prefer an organized, minimal desktop view as it helps to be more productive, creative, and focused. Unclutter claims that it could help users maintain a clutter-free desktop while maintaining easy access to the tools they need.
And as I review the Unclutter app, these high claims are put to the test. Did they pass? Is the app actually a time/energy saver? Should you grab it or pass? Well, why don’t you scroll down and see it for yourself!
How does the Unclutter app for Mac work?Unclutter smartly incorporates three utilities – notetaking, files, and clipboard, on a single dashboard.
Thanks to it, you can take notes quickly, easily access files from a special drop zone, and track your clipboard, making copying and pasting a breeze.
What’s great?
These united panels do not take any significant real-estate on your desktop. In fact, they are hidden when not in use, quite like the Dock (if that setting is enabled). All you have to do is move your cursor to the very top of the screen (Check this GIF to see how it works), and voila! The panel will present itself.
Plus, if you only want all or one of them, that can be done as well. Just grab and pull down the panel on the desktop.
Remarkably, the pulled down panels always stay on top. So, whether you are making notes from a YouTube video or working on a split-screen like me, it comes in handy.
To further understand why and how these features are useful, let’s look at them individually.
A quick notetakerImagine the Unclutter Notes as sticky notes. It lets you write quick excerpts, to-do lists, reminders, or full-length articles if you will. Just move your mouse upward, call upon unclutter, tap plus, and start writing.
A smart file management systemSo, why do you need so many files or folders on your desktop? Because you want easy & quick access. Well, that’s precisely how the Unclutter files section works. Simply drag and drop your files here and access them without missing a beat.
This section gives you full freedom, how you want to see the files – list or icons, how you want to arrange the files, and what icon item size you prefer. Remarkably, you can even store folder/file shortcuts on the panel using Command+Option keys while dragging a file.
A handy clipboardDespite being part of a multi-utility app, Unclutter clipboard is par with some of Mac’s best clipboard management apps. Scroll through the recent clips and recall/paste them as and when needed. Notably, unless you clear the history, it is retained even after a reboot.
You can even start a text and place them in the Favorite section for future use. What I particularly love is that you can edit the clips before pasting them. Imagine you have a default mail format stored in favorites, edit it as per need, and send the mail quicker.
And that’s not all; the settings section has some more gems! You can enable up to 50 clips in the clipboard history and restrict the app from copying sensitive data from one or more apps. Now, that’s a privacy feature even Apple would applaud.
What’s so special about the Unclutter appWhen files & data are well-organized, you can easily find them, saving both time and energy. This hassle-free scenario, in turn, helps you concentrate better on the task at hand and improves your overall performance and productivity.
And instead of using a separate file manager, clipboard, and notetaking app to keep things manageable and sorted, Unclutter offers all three services in one hideable window.
Incredibly, you even have options for dark/light themes, which panels to keep or remove, and which action should pull up the Unclutter panel.
Should you say yes to Unclutter? For an app that is named Unclutter, this one boasts a quite sorted mix of fantastic features. As mentioned above, many thoughtful and helpful knick-knacks are incorporated into the app so that each panel, Notes, Clipboard, and Files are comprehensive in themselves.
I won’t claim that you will never need another file or notetaking app ever. But it could surely reduce your dependency on such an app while making things way quicker. After all, you just have to move the cursor to the top, and voila! You have access to three apps at once.
Unclutter is undoubtedly worth your time, effort, and money! To access a free trial for the app, visit Unclutter’s website.

How To Create A Logo Using Google Drawings
As if starting your own small business is not challenging and expensive enough already, online logo-making services charge anywhere between $10 and $100 for a basic logo design. But do you really need to use these paid services when you’re just starting out? We recommend investing in a professionally-created logo after you have landed a few clients.
For now, instead of paying for a logo, you can design a simple logo yourself for free using Google Drawings. We show you how to do that and the prep work you need to do.
Where to BeginBefore you set off on your logo design venture and fire up Google Drawings, you need a bit of groundwork as described here.
Define your brand to get clear on the image you want to project with your logo.
Look for inspiration on sites like Dribbble and Behance to narrow down what you like and don’t like in terms of style, color, typeface, etc.
Sketch your logo on paper or a tablet to experiment with designs. Focus on making it readable even at small sizes. Don’t hesitate to leave white space in your logo. You can then use your final choice as a guide for creating the logo in Google Drawings.
Pick a typeface to match that matches with the vibe of your brand. Use a website like Google fonts to compare various typefaces and font styles side by side.
Decide on a color scheme. Each color has a distinctive association to certain feelings. For example, the color blue promotes feelings of peace and trust, green invokes an organic sense of nature, while red comes across as bold and tough. These associations can also vary across cultures. It’s important to take these factors into account.
How to Create a Logo in Google DrawingsIt’s time to bring your logo to life with Google Drawings. Make sure you have an active Google account before we proceed further.
Go to Google Drawings and log in to your Google account.
Alternatively, you can also access Google Drawings from your Google Drive account.
The default size of a new document is 960 × 720 pixels. You’ll have to adjust this size so that your logo won’t lose its quality on any platform whatsoever. To modify the document size:
A pop-up will appear displaying the current quality of your logo as “Standard 4:3.” Select “Custom” in the drop-down menu that appears.
Replace the default dimensions of 10 x 7.5 inches with dimensions of your choice. The bigger the original logo, the lesser the chance of it appearing pixelated when it needs to be scaled up to fill a larger space. If you plan to save the document as an SVG file, you don’t have to worry about pixelation due to pixel scaling. We decided to resize our canvas to 1080×1024 pixels.
Hit “Apply” to finish the document setup.
You can design a type-based logo, a picture-based logo, or a combination of the two. For this guide, we are creating a type-only logo for a room rental service with the name “Joy Stay” in a tourist place.
Enter your brand name in the box. Here, it’s “Joy Stay.”
We are also adding a tagline to our logo as a subscript to our main text.
If you want to add a tagline too, follow the same steps as above: change the font style and resize the text box as required. You can also play around with font modifiers like bold, italic, underline, etc., for added effects.
Here’s a snapshot of our modified tagline.
The next step is to adjust the spacing and alignment of your text. If your logo includes graphic elements, you’ll also need to figure out how to place them in relation to each other.
We have chosen to center align the brand name and the tagline for a clean look. You can go with this or opt for a left-aligned or right-aligned look.
Here’s what our logo looks like after making the changes. (We have also introduced a space after each letter in the tagline.)
If you have decided on a color scheme, this step should be easy. If you haven’t, you can experiment with colors as we go.
We decided to go with dark cyan for the background.
Before you use your logo on your website, flyer, email letterhead, etc., you need to resize it to the right size without losing quality. You can use
Adobe’s Image Resizer
to help you out. Here are some common sizes for using your logo on various online platforms and physical objects:

2. Is it okay to download and modify a logo from Google and use it?No. You can use logos from Google search results and other websites as visual inspiration, but downloading or copy-pasting them for your own use is a strict no-no.

How To Find Where The Music App Saves Songs On Your Mac
This tutorial will show you how to locate where songs, videos, and Apple Music files from the Music app are saved on your Mac.
The different files status in the Music app
If you don’t have an Apple Music subscription, please jump to the next heading. However, if you have an Apple Music subscription, it’s useful to know the status of each song in your music library. In most cases, you’ll see one of the following statuses for every song under the Cloud Status heading:
Purchased
You have purchased this song from the iTunes Store, or it’s a U2 song that Apple offered for free.
Apple Music
These are songs you have added to your library using your active Apple Music subscription. The day your subscription ends and you don’t renew, these songs will disappear from your music library.
Matched
These are songs that you had on your Mac. They could be ones you ripped from CDs, downloaded from the internet, or imported from elsewhere.
Now, when you have an Apple Music subscription (or an iTunes Match subscription – included for free in your Apple Music subscription as well as sold separately if you don’t subscribe to Apple Music), all eligible local songs (that you got from anywhere) are uploaded to iCloud music library and made available on all your Apple devices like your iPhone, iPad, other Macs, Android phone, etc.
However, when a local song from your library is also available in Apple Music’s catalog of 100 million songs, then that local file isn’t unnecessarily uploaded to iCloud; instead, Apple Music just takes your local songs’ name, matches them with that same song already available in Apple Music, and makes them available on all your devices in excellent quality.
The original version of these songs will stay on your Mac even after you cancel your Apple Music subscription.
Removed
These are matched songs that you removed from your Apple Music library using your iPhone or iPad, but since they are locally saved on Mac with the actual files, they show up in the Mac’s Music app. You may not find them in the Music app on your iPhone or iPad.
Waiting
These are local songs that still haven’t been uploaded to iCloud Library (or matched), and thus aren’t available for streaming on your other devices.
Ineligible
These local songs can’t be matched or uploaded to Apple Music. This is because they are music videos, songs with a bit rate of less than 96 kbps, a file larger than 200 MB, or a playtime longer than two hours.
Duplicate
A second copy of the same local or purchased music.
See the location of purchased and local songs on your Mac
Using this method, you can see the folder location of Purchased, Matched, Removed, Waiting, Ineligible, and Duplicate songs.
1) Open the Music app and find the desired song.
See the folder location of downloaded Apple Music songs on Mac
2) From here, get inside the Music folder.
Note: Downloaded Apple Music are DRM-protected, and you can’t play them in any other Mac app except Music and QuickTime.

See the Music media folder location on Mac
3) Now, you can manually go to this location to see your Music app media files.
