Instagram — which happens to be one of the most popular social networking services out there — is pretty straightforward to use. You log in with your user ID and password, maybe enter your 2FA code, and you are good to go. There’s hardly anything that can go wrong from your end. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t be running into unexplained issues every now and again.

Instagram has become notorious for throwing ‘Try Again Later’ errors at users, usually without explaining what the issue is in the first place. Today, we’ll tell you what the error means and hopefully get you a solution.

What does ‘Try again later’ mean and why does it appear?

How long does the restriction last?

Instagram bans are usually not permanent. However, their duration is neither known to the public nor written in stone. So, even if two users are slapped with the same type of ban, one might get out of jail a lot sooner than the other. A ‘Try again later’ ban may last anywhere between a minute and several weeks. So, if it’s not resolved soon enough, you should probably take the matter into your own hands.

How to fix ‘Try again later’ issue on Instagram

Restart your device

Yes, let’s get this inevitable one off the list first. Access your smartphone’s power options and hit the restart button.

Log out and log in

Something as simple as logging out and logging back into your Instagram account might prompt the Insta police to back off. To log out of your account, first, go to your profile page and hit the ‘Hamburger’ button at the top-right corner of the screen.

Now, tap on ‘Settings.’

Finally, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap on ‘Log out.’

To log in, launch the Instagram app and put down your username and password, and hit ‘Login.’ You could also use your Facebook account to log in to your Instagram profile.

Clear Instagram cache

Clearing the cache of the Instagram solution will not only log you out of the application but also make sure you are not dragging a bunch of problematic files with you.

To clear the cache of the Instagram application, first, locate the app on your home page of the app drawer and press-and-hold the app icon. Now, tap on the ‘info’ button at the top-right corner of the screen.

Now, go to the ‘Storage’ option.

Finally, tap on ‘Clear cache’ and ‘Clear data’ respectively.

Relaunch Instagram, log in, and see if the problem disappears.

Log in from a different device

Often Instagram might block the IP address or the device ID of a particular device. If that’s what has happened to you, a restart won’t solve the problem. You have to use a different device — your PC, for example — to access Instagram. Go to chúng tôi to access Instagram from your web browser and log in with your username and password to see if the issue has been resolved.

Also, you should also switch your network connection or use a VPN to connect to remove the IP address block.

Change your password

Now, go to ‘Change password.’

Enter your old Instagram password, followed by your new Instagram password, twice. Tap on ‘Change Password’ to request the change.

With any luck, your password would be changed immediately. Now, go back to the Instagram app and start using your Instagram profile as you normally do.

Tell Instagram about the issue

Although it might not feel like a viable solution, we assure you that it is worth a shot. When you get the ‘Try again later’ error message, you’ll see two options: ‘Tell us’ and ‘Ok.’ Tap on ‘Tell us’ to let Instagram know that a mistake has been committed from their end.

Alternatively, you could go report an issue manually. Before you get to the reporting part, you must take a screenshot of the issue and then attach the screenshot with the report you’re sending.

Once you’ve taken care of that, go to your profile page and tap on the hamburger menu at the top-right corner of the screen.

Now, tap on ‘Settings.’

Go to ‘Help.’

Next, tap on ‘Report a problem.’

Then, hit ‘Report a problem’ again.

Explain the issue on the next page and tap on ‘Gallery’ to upload the screenshot you had taken earlier.

When satisfied with the report, tap on ‘Submit.’

Instagram would hopefully reply to you with a solution.

Link your Facebook account

When Instagram notices unusually high activity from your end, it doesn’t think of you as a human gone rogue. It simply thinks of you as a bot — something that has the potential of compromising the quality of life of other Instagram users. To prove your humanity and make Instagram realize that you are indeed an authentic user, it’s best if you link your personal Facebook account to Instagram.

To link your Facebook account, first, go to your profile page and tap on the hamburger menu at the top-right corner of the screen.

Now, go to ‘Settings.’

Then, head over to ‘Account.’

Next, tap on ‘Sharing to other apps.’

Tap on ‘Facebook’ and authorize Instagram to use your Facebook credentials.

Your Facebook profile would be linked successfully.

Unlink apps that are linked to your Instagram account

As you may have noticed, many applications accept logins via Google, Facebook, and Instagram. If you’ve ever logged into a third-party application or service using your Instagram account, the service/application would probably still be using it for various purposes. To stop that and revoke access, first, go to your profile and tap on the ‘Hamburger’ menu button at the top-right corner of the screen.

Next, go to ‘Settings.’

Now, tap on ‘Security.’

Then, go to ‘Apps and Websites.’

If you have any extensions currently linked to your Instagram profile,

it will show up under the ‘Active’ tab. Tap on ‘Active’ and remove them.

Remove the link from your bio

Instagram now allows you to add your website link to your profile bio. And while that may be excellent for your brand exposure, Instagram might not be too kind towards unverified links. To remove the link from your bio, first, go to your profile page and tap on ‘Edit profile.’

Try not to spam

Try again after a couple of hours or a day

If you get the error message out of the blue and none of the aforementioned solutions work for you, you should log out of Instagram and try again in a couple of hours. Else, if that doesn’t work out, try logging in after 24 hours. Instagram sanctions are usually temporary. So, you should get your booming social media profile back in a couple of days.

How to avoid ‘Try again later’ errors in the future

Over the course of the article, we’ve talked about potential solutions. Now, let’s take a look at keeping them from happening in the first place.

Do not be overactive

Finally, do not post spammy links — torrent, betting sites, and more — on Instagram. Keep these things in mind and those ‘Try again later’ messages would be a thing of the past.

Avoid using third-party add-ons

Do not get yourself reported

Reporting isn’t something you can control, we know. However, there are some things you should look to avoid if you want to be on Instagram’s good books. To make sure you’re not mass reported, try to avoid stuff that is offensive to your audience. All in all, avoid getting on others’ nerves to keep your Insta profile intact.

Avoid third-party linkups

Many services allow you to sign up using Instagram. And while that is a convenient solution, it does put your original Instagram account at risk. So, unless the service you’re logging in with is completely trusted, do not use Instagram to sign up.

Avoid automation apps like Auto-liker

Seeing the ‘Followers’ number shoot up is every Instagrammer’s dream. Unfortunately, many shady developers are capitalizing on the desire of millions to maximize their gain. These websites/applications ask you to put down your Instagram login credentials, which allows to increase your followers count “for free.”

Surrendering your account details is a strict no-no, as it would give the developers complete access to your private profile. And if that wasn’t enough, Instagram might just flag account for unnatural activity and put it on hold.

The simplest solution is often the most effective. Start by refreshing the page and attempting to ask the same question once more. Sometimes, the error could be temporary and might be resolved by reloading the ChatGPT interface.

A cluttered cache can cause various issues, including ChatGPT errors. Clearing your browser’s cache can help eliminate any corrupted data and provide a fresh start for the ChatGPT interface. Simply go to your browser settings and find the option to clear the cache. Once done, restart the browser and try using ChatGPT again.

Browser extensions, plugins, or other tools may interfere with the proper functioning of ChatGPT. Disable any unnecessary add-ons temporarily and see if the error persists. Some extensions, especially those related to privacy or ad-blocking, can conflict with ChatGPT’s scripts.

How To Create Group Chats On Instagram.

Just like Facebook and Snapchat, Instagram also includes the ability to create group chats between friends and family. If you are unfamiliar with how to create a group chat in Instagram or didn’t even know the option existed, this guide will show you how to make your own personal group conversation in Instagram.

How to Reply to Instagram Stories With your Own Photos and Videos.

If you are only just finding out about the existence of Group Conversations in Instagram, there’s no need to feel embarrassed. A large portion of long term users don’t even realize the feature exists. As with most platforms that offer group conversations, Instagram isn’t much different, allowing users to send messages and photos as well as the usual assortment of other material.

How to Create Private Groups in Instagram For Sharing Photos and Messages.

In the past, you have more than likely used Instagram’s Direct feature to send private messages and photos to an individual person. Instagram have expanded on this feature somewhat, so you can now use the same option to create group chats with as many people as you like, all of whom have the ability to send pictures and messages.

To start using the Group Chat feature on Instagram, tap the paper plane icon in the top right-hand corner to open the Direct Message tab. From the newly opened tab, tap the small Plus icon (+) you will now be able to see a list of all the people you can send a message too. To start a group conversation all you need to do is tap the circle next to the username of anyone you wish to be included in the conversation.

Even though you have created a group, you won’t be able to name the chat until you have sent your first message, either a text message, picture or an emoji will be enough. After the initial message has been sent to break the ice, you will be able to name the group, unfortunately, the name of the group can’t exceed more than 20 characters which is rather limited.

Group conversations in Instagram work in almost the exact same way as in Facebook Messenger, you can write text messages as well as send private photos and emojis. If you would like to add more members to the group at any stage, tap the (i) icon in the top right-hand corner and select the new people you wish to add from the list.

If at any stage the group becomes too much for you, or the conversation has come to an end you can leave the group chat by tapping the (i) icon in the top right-hand corner and selecting leave group. You will need to confirm the exit, in case you have accidentally selected the option. Once you have exited a group you will no longer to able to view the conversation and won’t receive notifications. Although this feature in Instagram isn’t anything revolutionary, it does save you having to switch between different apps to keep in touch with all your friends.

How To Fix Instagram App Not Working In Windows 11

The Instagram app for Windows 11 has become a great counterpart for its mobile application, allowing users to not only view images, videos, and Stories shared by other users but also upload their content. However, if you are someone who uses the Instagram app in Windows 11 more than its mobile counterpart, we understand how frustrating it can be when it stops working.

So, in this in-depth guide, we bring you some of the most effective solutions to fix the Instagram app not working in Windows 11 issue on your PC or laptop. You can also find easy-to-follow step-by-step guides on how to execute some of these fixes on your Windows 11 device. Check them out in the following sections to bring the Instagram app up and running on your Windows 11 PC or laptop once again.

Fix Instagram App Not Working in Windows 11

Now, the Instagram app not working in Windows 11 issue can arise due to various possible reasons on your PC or laptop. It could be due to an issue with your internet network, an issue with Instagram’s servers, or an internal issue in your Windows 11 system. Hence, it is difficult to pinpoint a specific issue that might be causing the Instagram app to malfunction on your Windows 11 device.

However, with the following fixes, we have tried to address every possible reason that could be causing the Instagram app not working issue on your Windows 11 PC or laptop. Find them listed right below!

1. Restart Your Windows 11 PC or Laptop

One of the first things that you should do when you experience the Instagram app not working issue on your Windows 11 PC or laptop is to restart it. A quick restart of the Windows 11 system force-closes every application and background process on your device and clears the RAM of the system. Hence, if an app or background process is somehow preventing the Instagram app to perform properly on your PC or laptop, this fix should fix that immediately.

So, open the Power options UI on your Windows 11 PC or laptop via the Start menu or with the Alt + F4 (while on Desktop) hotkey, and hit the Restart option.

Following the restart, launch the Instagram app on your Windows 11 device and check whether or not it is working properly.

2. Check Your Internet Network

As you might already know, the Instagram app for Windows 11 is an online social media application that lets you access your Instagram account. Emphasizing the word “online”, you could already guess that the app heavily relies on an active and stable internet network while running on your Windows 11 PC or laptop. So, if your internet network is currently down or facing server issues, the Instagram app might not work or even open in Windows 11.

Hence, before proceeding to the more technical fixes, we’d recommend you check whether or not your internet network is working properly. Whether you are using an ethernet connection or are connected to the web via Wi-Fi, an active and stable internet network is a must when using the Instagram app on your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

In case your internet network is down, you can contact your internet provider for support. Once the network is up and running, the Instagram app should work just fine in Windows 11.

3. Check Instagram Server Status

Many a time, even with an active and stable internet network, you might experience the Instagram app not working issue on your Windows 11 PC or laptop. In this case, it might be because of Instagram’s own servers.

You see, much like any other online social media platform, Instagram relies on cloud servers to cater to millions of users worldwide. These servers, sometimes, might be down due to technical errors, high traffic, or maintenance purposes.

Hence, if you find that your internet is working fine and yet the Instagram app is not working on your Windows 11 PC or laptop, you can check its server status via Downdetector or other similar third-party platforms.

If the Instagram servers are facing issues at the time of your checking, all you can do is wait for them to get back online. Once they are up and going, the Instagram app should start working on your Windows 11 PC or laptop once again.

If you are a person who seldom updates apps on their PC or laptop and if you have not updated the Instagram app in a while, you can very well experience the Instagram app not working issue in Windows 11. You see, outdated applications could contain bugs, glitches, and security issues that might prevent them to run on Windows 11 devices.

In this case, you can follow the below steps to update the Instagram app on your Windows 11 PC or laptop right away and get it up and running once again:

1. Use Windows + S to open Windows search and find the Microsoft Store app.

4. Locate the app update for Instagram.

5. If you do not see an update for the app, hit the Get updates button and wait for the latest app updates to populate.

7. Following the update, restart your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

After the restart, launch the Instagram app on your Windows 11 device and check whether or not it is fixed.

What many of you might not know is that the Instagram app in Windows 11 requires the latest version of the Microsoft Edge web browser to properly run on your PC or laptop. Hence, if Edge is not up to date on your Windows 11 PC or laptop, the Instagram app might run into issues on your device.

In this case, you can follow the below steps to update Microsoft Edge on your Windows 11 PC or laptop to try and fix the Instagram app:

1. Launch Microsoft Edge on your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

4. Next, go to the About Microsoft Edge tab on the left navigation bar.

5. Once you are on the About Microsoft Edge page, the browser will automatically start checking for updates.

6. Wait for the Edge browser to download and install the updates.

Once done, close the web browser on your PC or laptop and launch the Instagram app to check whether or not it is fixed on your Windows 11 device.

6. Repair the Instagram App in Windows 11

If updating the app did not resolve the Instagram app not working issue in Windows 11, it might be because some internal installation or execution files of the app have been corrupted or missing.

Thankfully, Windows 11 comes with a built-in Repair feature for some Windows Store applications that fixes common issues and restore their corrupted/ missing files, and Instagram is one of the apps that can be repaired in Windows 11.

So, to repair the Instagram app on your Windows 11 PC or laptop, follow the steps right below:

1. Use Windows + I to launch the Settings app on your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

5. Next, scroll all the way down to the Reset section and hit the Repair button.

6. Wait for the repair process to complete.

7. Following completion, restart your Windows 11 PC or laptop and check whether the Instagram app is working on your device properly or not.

7. Reset the Instagram App in Windows 11

If repairing the Instagram app did not do the trick and you are still stuck with the Instagram app not working issue on your Windows 11 PC or laptop, the next thing you can do is reset the app.

Resetting the Instagram app in Windows 11 will take it back to its default settings and state on your PC or laptop. Hence, it is worth noting that resetting the app will delete all the app data stored on your device.

With that said, let’s take a look at how you can reset the Instagram app in Windows 11 to hopefully, fix it on your PC or laptop:

1. Follow steps 1-4 from the previous fix (Fix #5) to open the Advanced options page of the Instagram app in Windows 11.

3. Wait for the reset process to complete.

4. Restart your Windows 11 PC or laptop after completion.

Following the restart, launch the Instagram app on your Windows 11 device and check whether or not it is properly functioning.

8. Reinstall the Instagram App on Windows 11

Now, if all the above methods fail to resolve the Instagram app not working issue on your Windows 11 PC or laptop, you can try reinstalling the app on your device. This will completely remove the app from your PC or laptop and reinstall the latest version of it to get internal issues fixed.

So, follow the steps right below to reinstall the Instagram app in Windows 11:

1. Use Windows + S to open Windows search on your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

2. Type in Instagram to locate the app on your device.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to completely remove the Instagram app from your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

5. Once the uninstallation process is complete, launch the Microsoft Store.

Once it is completely installed, launch the Instagram app and check whether it is opening on your device or not. Hopefully, it will launch correctly, although you will have to re-login to your Instagram account within the app on your Windows 11 PC or laptop.

Much like how an outdated version of the Instagram app can cause it to malfunction in Windows 11, an outdated Windows 11 build can do the same as well. You see, bugs and glitches in outdated Windows 11 versions can cause issues with certain Windows Store applications such as the Instagram app, and prevent them from properly functioning.

In this case, you can follow the below steps to check for the latest Windows 11 updates on your PC or laptop and install them right away:

1. Use Windows + I to launch the Settings app in Windows 11.

Note: Keep your PC or laptop connected to an active internet network during this stage.

4. Following the downloading of the updates, you might have to restart your PC or laptop for them to install and apply.

So, after the latest Windows 11 updates are installed on your PC or laptop, launch the Instagram app and check if it is fixed in Windows 11.

How To Prevent Being Added To Groups On Instagram

If you’re a regular Instagram user, you are probably quite familiar with the situation where an account adds you to a group chat out of the blue. This may be someone you follow, but regardless of your connection with them, being forced into a group you may not want to be part of is quite irritating. If you’ve been searching for ways to put a stop to this exasperating behavior, this article looks at some routes you can take to prevent being added to groups on Instagram.

How to Stop People You Follow From Adding You to Groups

By default, your followers can easily add you to group chats without asking your permission. It can be highly distracting, but fortunately, there’s something you can do to make this less irritating: mute the discussions to prevent getting new message notifications.

Go to Direct and open the message thread in question, then select the “i” button in the upper-right corner to bring up Details.

From here, you can “Mute messages” so you won’t be bothered by whatever is happening in the chat.

Alternatively, if you really don’t want to be in there, find the Admin who created the group at the bottom and tap on the three-dot menu next to their account name. This will bring up three options: Block, Report and Restrict.

How to Stop Strangers or Bots from Adding You to Groups

This one is a bit trickier to solve. Unfortunately, Instagram does not allow users with personal accounts to control who adds them to groups. Basically, everyone with an Instagram and knowledge of your account name can add you, even if your profile is private.

What you can do is disable push notifications so that you won’t be alerted when someone tries to add you to a random group chat.

Quickly Disable Group Request Alerts

1. Open Instagram on your phone.

2. Tap on your profile picture in the lower-right corner of the display.

3. Next, tap on the hamburger menu in the upper-right corner.

5. Select Notifications.

7. Scroll down until you find “Group Requests” and turn the option Off.

From here, you can easily block the account who has added you to the group simply by tapping on the dedicated button at the bottom or press the Delete button. That doesn’t guarantee the account won’t try to add you again later, so the best solution would be simply to Block.

Alternatively, open the chat, tap on the “i” button in the upper-right corner and select the red “Leave Chat” button.

How to Stop Others from Adding Your Business Account to Groups

For those with a business account, things are a bit easier. Instagram is currently in the process of rolling out a feature which offers the means to prevent random accounts from adding you to unwanted groups.

Instagram has been testing the new option with a limited number of accounts, so it might not be showing on your device just yet.

If there’s no “Messages” option under the Interactions in Privacy, check back later to see if the option has been made available in your area. You could also try accessing your business account on another device and see if the feature appears there.

Now that you know how to prevent being added to groups on Instagram, you should also learn how to create your own Instagram filter and how to use the app on your computer for a change.
