Recently some users reported encountering an error message – Google Chrome is unresponsive, relaunch now. This problem continually occurs whenever users try to open a link from an external program, even after restarting the browser. The possible reason could be missing administrative compatibility, updates, or any other system error.
There could be one or more reasons for it being unresponsive. It could simply be a bad web page or an issue with your browser. Press CTRL+F5 to hard refresh and see if that helps. If it does not, try our following suggestions.
Google Chrome is unresponsive, Relaunch now?Before the methods are being followed, you need to close the unresponsive browser. To do this, you can open the Task Manager and close all the Chrome tasks. Now relaunch the browser and follow these suggestions.
Clear the cache files.
Disable problematic browser extension.

Reinstall the Google Chrome Browser.

1] Clear the cache filesThen select Privacy and security from the left pane and then select Clear browsing data.
In the Clear browsing data window, switch to the Advanced tab, and using the drop-down menu, set the Time range to All time.
Thereafter tick the checkbox next to the Cookies and other site data and Cached image and files.
Alternatively, you can use the Ctrl+Shift+Delete keyboard shortcut to open the Clear browsing data window directly.
2] Disable the problematic browser extensionThe browsing experience is customized and improved by small software modules known as browser extensions. Sometimes these extensions may make the browser unresponsive. It can be corrected with few simple steps.
Open the Chrome browser.
Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and hit Enter to open the browser extensions of Google Chrome.
After that, relaunch the browser and check if the browser is working.
If the error is corrected, enable the extensions one by one so that you will come to know which one is creating the error.
3] Make this change in the Chrome settings
Open the Chrome browser.
Select Settings from the menu list.
Under the Other Google services section, turn the Help improve Chrome’s features and performance option off.
Relaunch the browser.
4] Reset Chrome settings to defaultAnother way to stop the unresponsive browser is to reset the Chrome settings to default. Here are the steps to do so:
To get it started, open the Chrome browser first.
Go to Settings via the three dots Menu bar at the window’s upper right end.
In the left pane, expand the Advanced section and select the Reset and clean up section.
Then select Restore settings to their original defaults.
5] Reinstall the Google Chrome BrowserIf the above solutions do not work, it may be possible that the browser has got corrupted. In such cases reinstalling the setup can solve the problem of the browser being unresponsive.
Open the Control Panel. Inside the Control Panel, head over to Programs and then select Program and Features.
Once you successfully remove the browser, install again the Chrome browser and recheck the error.

Is Google Now Draining Your Iphone’s Battery?
Google’s take on search AI dubbed Google Now went live Monday via an update to the Internet giant’s native iOS Search app.
Today, a number of users took to the Internet to complain about the application’s excessive power drain due to a possible glitch in how it retrieves your location in the background…
According to a thread on the Google Search forums, a number of people are complaining about the battery drain problem and the iOS Location icon being always on, even when the app has been closed.
“I don’t think Google has figured out a way to balance the battery drain and GPS access,” one guy wrote. “Their previous app, Field Trip, is also triggering the same issue, even after the supposed bug fix.”
Another dude said Google Now enables GPS permanently on his device, killing the battery in a matter of hours. “I can get 2 days use on a charge easily on my iPhone 5,” he wrote. “With Google Now running, it was dead in 6 hours.”
But the fact of the matter is that Google Now on iOS doesn’t use GPS at all.

Or, at least so say release notes for the Search app on iTunes:
To provide up-to-the-minute information, Google Now turns on Location Services. Even though the icon stays on, the app has minimal battery impact.
Instead of using GPS, the app receives “passive updates from nearby cell towers and Wi-Fi hot spots,” the search giant explains.
Furthermore, Google Now pauses location updates when it senses that your iPhone’s battery is running low. The software also “stays asleep” unless your device moves a long distance. That said, any excessive power drain must be a glitch, per conventional wisdom.
A Google engineer responded on the support forums by re-iterating that “in order to provide you with just the right information at just the right time, your location is updated periodically throughout the day.”
He also said users affected by the battery drain issue can turn location reporting off.
Just open settings by tapping the gear icon in the upper-right of the Search iOS app, go to the Privacy section and disable Location Reporting. Note that turning off location reporting will disable traffic updates and location based reminders.
If that doesn’t help and the iOS Location icon stays on in the status bar, removing the Search app from your device should be the last resort. Additionally, you could also turn off iOS Location Services system-wide by turning the Location Services setting at the top to OFF.
It would appear Google may have been aware of the problem, or at least moved to pre-empt the outrage, as iTunes release notes contain the following disclaimer:
If you see an impact on your battery life, please tell us about it by tapping feedback in the app settings. You can also turn this feature on and off as you like in the privacy section of the app settings.
Interestingly enough, a Google support document states that Google Now does use GPS:
Along with Location Services, Google Now uses Location Reporting to get precise location information. Since Location Reporting has been optimized to use GPS as infrequently as possible, there should be minimal impact on your battery life.
Note the careful wording here.
Google acknowledges there “should” be “minimal” impact on your battery life.
I haven’t noticed any significant hit on my battery life, but have heard from plenty of affected users not to dismiss the issue as an isolated incident.

Google Chrome Is Freezing Or Crashing On Windows 11/10 Computer
Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers these days. But there may be times when you find that your Chrome browser crashes or freezes randomly on your Windows 11/10 computer, while browsing, opening a tab, loading a page, or downloading. It may end up with a message – Google Chrome has stopped working. In this post, we will show how to fix this issue.

1) Delete the Local State fileFirst of all delete the Local State file which holds some of the Custom Settings, and see if it helps you.
To delete the Local State file, follow these steps:
Close Google Chrome
Open Windows Explorer
In the address bar, type in-
%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataYou’ll find the “Local State” file there. Delete it
Open Google Chrome and see if it has helped.
Fix: Your profile could not be opened correctly in Google Chrome.
2) Rename the Default folderYou could also try the following. Rename the Default folder which has all the Google extensions, Bookmarks, History, Jumplist icons, etc. The reason why we are renaming it is that if it’s not the cause of the random freezes and crashes, then we don’t have to lose all this information.
To rename the Default folder, follow these steps:
Close Google Chrome
Open Windows Explorer
In address bar type in-
%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataYou’ll find the Default folder here. Rename it to “Default.old”
Open Google Chrome and see if this has helped stop the crashes.
Remember to rename the folder back to its original name. Now you at least know if you need to look at these factors or not.

3) Disable Flash extensionou might also want to check out if the Flash extension is the culprit and causing the crashes, and see if it helps. To do so, follow these steps:
Open Google Chrome
In the address bar type in “about:plugins”
Restart Google Chrome and test it now

6) Check about:conflictsType about:conflicts in the address bar and hit Enter, see if you can identify any non-Microsoft or non-Google processes listed there.

8) Reinstall ChromeWell, if none of these steps help you, you might have to consider reinstalling your Google Chrome browser. To do so:
Go to Programs and Features and Uninstall Google Chrome.
To completely remove all traces, also do the following.

How To Autofill Passwords In Google Chrome
Gone are the days where you needed an external password manager to store all the passwords you use for your various online accounts. For a couple of years now, Google Chrome has had a perfectly good password management feature, including the options to generate, autofill and store your passwords.
It’s not too complicated to manage either. This tutorial will show you how to autofill passwords in Chrome.
First, make sure that Chrome is offering to save your passwords when you type them in.
From now on, each time you sign into a website, Chrome will ask whether you want to save that password for autofilling in the future. Reply “Yes,” and your password will be stored on Google.
Assuming you have Auto Sign-in enabled (this is done back in the Chrome password settings), you won’t need to type your password each time, but if you’re changing sign-in info, then the autofill options for your account will appear in a box under the login boxes.
You’ll then need to re-enter the password when you log into the site again, at which point you’ll get the option to save it again.
