Suggested April 2024 How To Become An Influencer On Linkedin

LinkedIn is already huge, and it’s growing bigger every year.

In fact, it has 660 million users across 200 countries.

And while it’s not like Facebook and Instagram, which each have billions of users, LinkedIn is special to marketers.

This is because LinkedIn’s focus is on business, jobs, and networking.

It’s easy to see why you should market your brand on LinkedIn.

First, you need to gain trust by becoming a LinkedIn influencer.

How?

Here are five things you can do.

5 Easy Steps to Follow to Become a Trusted LinkedIn Influencer

You might have heard that LinkedIn invites popular influencers to become part of a special group on the platform.

These influencers include huge names like Bill Gates, Mary Barra, and Arianna Huffington.

Hoping to get an invitation from LinkedIn to join this special group feels like reaching for the stars.

The good news?

You don’t have to be in this group to become an influencer in your own right.

All you need to do to gain attention for your brand is to prove your expertise and offer value to other users.

Step 1: Know Your Goals

Trying to achieve influencer status on LinkedIn will feel like going in circles if you don’t first define your goals.

For instance:

Do you want to get more followers on the platform?

Do you want other LinkedIn users to visit your blog?

Once you’ve selected the right ones, it’ll be easier to build your strategy around these goals.

For example, you want to become an influencer on LinkedIn to get clients for your freelance writing business.

Once you’ve listed this goal, you go on to take steps that’ll make you the best choice for people looking for a freelance writer.

You post exceptional content to show readers your writing skills.

You make a list of your writing experience and expertise.

You share rich media related to your profession.

Knowing your goal is the first step on the path to achieving it.

Step 2: Create a Superstar Profile

They want to be impressed by who you are.

You don’t want your profile to appear like this.

Instead, you want to capture your unique personality in a vibrant profile photo.

Describe yourself, your passions, and accomplishments.

Use stunning graphics.

Here’s what an attractive LinkedIn profile looks like.

Although LinkedIn focuses on B2B and jobs, this doesn’t mean you should be impersonal and overly formal.

In business as in life, it’s about making real connections with real people.

And your profile should show that, highlighting who you are and what your brand can do.

Step 3: Create & Curate Standout Content

Once your profile is ready, it’s time to prove your expertise in your industry.

One excellent way to do it is through posting content.

What kind of content should you post?

Content That Speaks to Your Specific Audience

Before you even start writing, chalk out an audience persona.

You want to hit all your audience’s hot buttons with your content.

For example, you own a copywriting service. You want to attract clients who understand that paying for quality copy is a smart investment.

To address these people, you wouldn’t write content on a topic like “Five reasons to invest in quality copywriting.” Instead, you’d do something like, “Five standout elements to look for when selecting the best copywriting agency.”

Knowing exactly who you’re speaking to will help you create consistent content.

Spectacular Content

The content you create should be uniquely yours.

It should enrich readers so they’ll feel they’ve gained something priceless each time they consume what you’ve written.

To do this, learn about your readers.

Understand what they’re trying to achieve.

Then, go online and read blogs on your topic.

How can you improve what’s already been written?

Make your content stand out.

Also, be trustworthy.

Back up facts with stats, use charts and graphs, and cite reliable sources.

You want everything you write to be solid.

Media-Rich Content

Content doesn’t only mean articles and posts.

It also means photos, videos, GIFs, and even memes.

As a general rule, it’s a good idea to add a photo to every article you write.

Look at this post:

It’s not only attractive because of its data-backed facts, but also because of its crisp, candid photo.

Curated Content

You don’t have to squeeze yourself dry for enough time to publish a post on LinkedIn every single day.

For the days when you’re loaded with work, you can post curated content.

Curated content is valuable to your readers.

What’s more, it’ll make you a trustworthy figure in their minds because they’re connecting you with powerful influencers whose posts you share.

So, how do you find content from excellent sites and influencers in your niche?

It’s easy.

You can use software like Instapaper and Listly.

Step 4: Invest Time in Networking

On any social media platform, it’s not all about getting attention.

It’s about giving attention as well.

Build relationships based on trust.

It won’t be long before you find your list of followers growing.

Step 5: Promote Your Content Across Channels

As a marketer, you want all your marketing channels to work together seamlessly.

You want them to be part of the whole story of your brand.

To do this, promote your LinkedIn profile on your blog. On Facebook. On Instagram. And vice versa.

The more exposure you get, the faster you’ll reach your goals.

Are You Using LinkedIn to Grow Your Business?

LinkedIn is a powerful tool you can use to grow your business.

But to succeed on the platform, you first need to build credibility.

Remember, always focus on the value you can give prospective clients.

If you keep doing this and follow the five steps listed above, it won’t be long before you’re considered an influencer on LinkedIn.

Guest blogging

services.

“Guest posting has been around for a while, and it is still an awesome way to get more traffic and visibility to your blog” says Mike Wallagher in this post. He also shows proof on how he still receives referral traffic from his guest posts.

The principle behind the effectiveness of guest blogging is pitching a post idea to the blog owner you are targeting to publishing your post on. With that in mind, you need to pitch to the site with the most online influence.

You can gauge them by measuring these metrics:

higher the score, the more valuable the links are, the more cause for you to reach out to the site owner for a guest post opportunity.

Having lots of social media followers and likes proves that the site has a vibrant community that you can tap into once your guest post is published.

your to engage and meet like-minded people.

Blogger outreach

The best way to drive more visitors to your content is to get an influencer on board with  your post. Look no further than the ones you linked out to in your post. Linking out to resource pages is a good way to refer your readers to more specific content about a particular idea you mentioned in your page post. This practice is also a way of saying to readers, “This page I am linking to, the blogger who published this page, is awesome!”

As they say in SEO, a backlink is akin to a recommendation. By linking back to different sites, you are recommending those sites to your readers. Therefore, if you linked out to resources pages to point readers to more information about an idea you presented in the content, reach out to the resource page owner with your content. Tell them that you linked to their pages because they provide great value and insight to readers of your post.

Social syndication

Creating a social syndication system where you can automatically syndicate and share your post on social media is a great way to extend the reach of your content. One way of doing this is to join one of the many  online influencer marketing platforms.

Triberr Is an example of one of these platforms. However, you will need to join Tribes related to your niche and become a Member on each. The idea here is to join Tribes with lots of members to increase the chances of your content to be shared by people. This way, you cut down the time searching for people to share your posts with you, as the Tribe members will do the heavy lifting for you.

content.

Wrapping it up

By following the tips above, you increase the chances of your content to be found by your audience. As a result, you can get more people on board with your deas and exert yourself as a thought leader.

By captivating your audience and performing these tactics on the consistent basis, you can finally become an influencer.

How To Become An Seo Expert

So you want to become an SEO expert.

I can totally understand why.

There are so many reasons to love SEO.

SEO is fascinating.

SEO is a fast-paced, in-demand field with plenty of longevity ahead of it.

But that means SEO also attracts people who just see it as an easy money grab or work-from-home job.

They read some blogs here and there, learn the terminology, and voila! They’re changing their title on LinkedIn to “SEO Expert.”

After only a few days.

Or worse, a matter of hours.

🤦

That’s like reading a few medical books and calling yourself a doctor.

That’s not how this works.

SEO expertise, like any other field, requires time, commitment, and experience.

You can’t just declare yourself an SEO expert.

It’s not a young field anymore.

There are experts who’ve been doing SEO for decades now.

Ready to follow in their footsteps?

Here are 21 things you need to know to become an SEO expert.

1. Understand the Basics of SEO

To become an expert, start with the basics. You need to understand how audiences and search engines interact, and what you can do to optimize content effectively.

Learning the basics boils down to three core components:

The types of content that users want, expect, or need. It’s all about user intent.

The inner workings of how search engines really work.

The tools and techniques needed to optimize websites.

Without this background, you may be able to explain the “what,” but not the “why.”

As someone who has worked in this industry for 15 years, knowing the why sets you apart.

At Search Engine Journal, we created an ebook that covers the SEO basics.

2. Build Your Own Websites

Once you understand the basics of SEO, it’s time to apply them.

Most pros will tell you they learned the most by building sites and breaking things.

Ryan Jones of Razorfish put it well when I interviewed him on the Search Engine Journal Show:

“Don’t just start out trying to do SEO for big brands; start doing SEO for yourself. Make something. Whether it’s a blog, affiliate site, or an app…start doing it for yourself and hone your skills that way.”

Learn HTML. Learn all the tags. Test.

Fiddle with the content and see how it manifests in SERPs.

Pick a topic that you’re into. That’ll make it easier to create content.

You want to spend more time building and optimizing the content, not writing it.

3. Learn WordPress

One-third of websites are built with WordPress.

So if you want to be an SEO expert, you need to know it well.

It’s not just that it’s ubiquitous – it’s also the best CMS for SEO.

WordPress is perfect for functionalities that directly (e.g., metadata) and indirectly (e.g., UX) affect SEO performance.

Start your WordPress education with this great list of resources from Kinsta.

4. Learn Google Analytics & Google Search Console

SEO pros use a wide variety of tools to optimize content and analyze their effectiveness.

Google Analytics and Google Search Console are essentials for any SEO command center.

Google Analytics is all about measurement and reporting.

Google Search Console enables you to optimize your site.

SEO expertise requires mastery of both.

5. Read About SEO Every Day

Remember I mentioned commitment?

You’ve got to have the determination to read about SEO daily.

The major search engines make changes every day and you never know the impact that will have on your rankings.

Your colleagues, clients, and bosses – they’ll expect you to have answers.

Keeping up with SEO content daily keeps you fresh.

Not sure where to begin? Try this list of 25 reliable resources to start with.

6. Understand How Search Engines Work

It can feel like much of your fate rests in the hands of the search engines.

And it does.

That’s why you need to know about crawlers.

These bots are making decisions about the quality and relevancy of your content.

Several key factors drive those decisions.

Understanding search intent, relevance, content quality, links, and usability will help you better grasp why the algorithms operate the way that they do.

Search engines are a black box – they don’t reveal the secret sauce behind their products.

But you can use these known factors to optimize your site and give yourself a leg up.

If you want to get into the real nitty-gritty of Google’s patents, check out Bill Slawski’s SEO by the Sea blog.

Or, dive deep by reading our ebook: How Search Engines Work.

7. Read Google’s Quality Rater Guidelines

For an even more in-depth look behind the curtain, study Google’s Quality Rater Guidelines.

Google hires people to rate websites, and this guide covers the factors they’re told to look for.

It’s not a short read.

You may be familiar with the simplified version of its contents, known as E-A-T:

Expertise.

Authoritativeness.

Trustworthiness.

The simplified version is useful if you’re just starting out or even at the intermediate level, but to become an expert, you need to read the whole thing.

The raters are not SEO professionals – they’re everyday people.

Similar to the search engines’ bots, these raters have an effect on your site’s performance.

8. Look at the SERPs

This is where all the action is.

Look at the search engine results pages (SERPs).

How are they composed?

What content do they display?

Who is doing it well?

Notice how the results change when you search for different kinds of queries.

Look at how this search for “How to make alfredo sauce” differs from “alfredo sauce.”

You can see these featured snippets for recipes because I asked a question in the search box.

Then, here you can see the knowledge panel on the right.

Google is making decisions about the intent behind those queries and serving up content in a format that it thinks users want the most.

So look at the SERPs.

A lot.

9. Learn About Technical SEO

Technical SEO is everything that you do to make your site easier to crawl and index.

Technical SEO involves mobile usability, site speed, structured data, JavaScript, and all the mechanisms that influence how a website works.

These factors play a role in how well a site ranks in the SERPs.

You can have amazing content, but a slow or site with lots of bugs will hurt your performance.

With so much content to compete with, a website with a solid foundation from technical SEO can make or break your strategy.

Learn more in our technical SEO guide.

10. Learn About Content Strategy, Creation, Optimization & Promotion

While technical SEO helps search engines crawl and index your site more effectively, understanding content will help you improve the user experience, time on site, links, and so much more.

Gone are the days when content was created by a keyword-first strategy.

Since the Hummingbird update and RankBrain came on the scene, content needs to be created in a user-first strategy.

But, just because you published content, doesn’t mean users will find it.

Content needs to be optimized to add context to content to help search engines understand how to categorize it.

That content also needs to be supported by a promotional strategy.

SEO alone isn’t enough – other marketing channels (e.g., social media, email) contribute to the success or failure of your content.

11. Use Link Building Tactics That Actually Work

Link building is one of the first things you learn about when studying SEO.

To benefit from link building, you need quality links, not just quantity.

Getting there requires a mixture of good reporting and relationship-building.

Relationships are super important for link building. I was asked to contribute to this post on PointVisible, and that resulted in a nice link back to SEJ.

If you’re a beginner, start with our ebook, Link Building for Beginners.

If you’re a little further along, check out our more in-depth link building guide.

12. Don’t Develop Checklist Mentality

Checklist mentality is when you’re so focused on following a regiment that you become inflexible and unaware of when that routine isn’t working anymore.

Search engines are changing all the time.

You need to be adaptable, and a checklist mentality means blindly walking through a to-do list.

Over time, the items on that to-do list become outdated or don’t account for new updates.

Eventually, the checklist mentality will negatively affect your outcomes.

Instead, be open-minded and outcome-oriented.

If your rankings have dropped, despite adhering to your checklist, think creatively.

Ask for help.

Be prepared to change.

Just don’t be held captive by your checklist.

The following tips will point you in the direction of good resources to help you continually develop.

13. Join Facebook Groups

Facebook is full of active, helpful groups for SEO professionals. Here are just a few:

Facebook groups give you access to a ready-made network of peers.

Don’t just look for SEO groups, look for groups that also include marketers, content creators, and social media pros.

If you have an interest in e-commerce or B2B marketing, look for groups with those areas of focus.

The sheer breadth of the network you can access on Facebook is unmatched.

14. Follow SEO Experts on Twitter

Sometimes you need a break from your typical blogs and news sites.

Following SEO experts on Twitter gives you one more way to access their wealth of knowledge.

Use Twitter to keep up with the latest news, participate in conversations, and get opinions on SEO topics that aren’t black-and-white.

To start, follow other SEO experts that top SEO blogs are already following.

When you follow the right people on Twitter, it sharpens your SEO knowledge and connects you to opportunities that you may not have heard about otherwise.

I’ve curated a list of experts to help you get started.

15. Attend SEO & Marketing Conferences

Another way to level up your skills is by attending events.

Conferences and webinars are excellent resources for learning more about specific aspects of content marketing.

In-person events may be on hold for now, but there are plenty of virtual conferences still going on.

The presentations feature expert guidance on the topics that are top of mind for most SEO pros.

They can be pricey, but a great conference is totally worth the investment.

Attending events gives you a chance to hear directly from industry experts, an opportunity you may not get otherwise.

Here’s a list of great events to check out this year and next year.

16. Listen to Podcasts

When you need a break from reading and watching, try listening.

Podcasts have exploded in recent years, and that includes podcasts that cover SEO.

Listen on your commute, or while you’re cooking or working out.

Podcasts are the best way to feed your brain while multitasking.

You can find any number of formats, show lengths, and hosts to suit your fancy.

I’m admittedly biased, but check out The Search Engine Journal Show for lots of great insights and tips from some of the brightest minds in SEO today.

17. Grow Your Personal Network

You don’t know everything.

You don’t have all the answers.

And in SEO, you likely never will.

But that’s OK!

Some SEO professionals who are total experts in JavaScript SEO know next to nothing about link building.

Other people in our industry are amazing at content strategy and promotion, but terrible at some technical aspects of SEO.

At some point, you’re going to need help from someone else in the industry.

So start building connections.

Use social media to start building relationships.

Platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn make this fairly easy.

The best way to make connections and grow your network is to be willing to share information.

Don’t just take and take.

Give and take.

Remember, relationships are a two-way street.

Share your own experiences and expertise.

The idea is to continually stay in touch and develop a rapport with people.

Over time, these connections will start to see you as an expert.

Eventually, you’ll want to build a trusted network of people with whom you can troubleshoot, bounce ideas off of, and share tips, strategies, and other learnings.

18. Take Advantage of Free Courses

One of the great things about learning SEO is the wealth of free information available to you.

Sure, there’s a lot of junk to filter through.

But there are also plenty of free courses from highly respected companies and instructors.

Moz, for instance, lets you explore by topic:

19. Keep Learning & Growing Your Skill Set

There’s no endpoint to becoming an expert.

And there are many other skills adjacent to SEO that make you more effective.

Study web development, copywriting, or even graphic design.

Get familiar with a particular industry or specialize in a certain type of content.

Continually expanding your skillset deepens your expertise and sets you up as a knowledgeable resource.

And it also makes YOU more valuable – so you can earn more or charge more.

20. Learn from Your Mistakes & Repeat Your Successes

SEO isn’t an exact science, and experts learn a lot through trial and error.

Mistakes are inevitable.

Learn from them and move on.

On the flip side, when you do something that works, make a note of it.

Do it again.

Until it doesn’t work.

Then it becomes a mistake that you can learn from.

The point: never stop learning and improving.

21. Be Patient

Like I said at the beginning of this post, becoming an SEO expert takes time.

Ride the wave of algorithm changes.

Get thrown off by updates to search tools.

Build your community.

None of these things can be rushed.

But if you have the passion for it, the payoff is a rewarding, in-demand career.

Summary

Being an SEO expert opens up a world of opportunities.

You can play a vital role in launching a startup.

You can upgrade the online presence of a 50-year-old company.

You can help a solopreneur reach new audiences.

You can help a retailer crush its sales goals.

There are a lot of skills you need to develop to become that trusted resource.

But it all starts with patience, integrity, and hunger to learn.

How To Become An Xbox Insider

Do you want the very best features on Xbox earlier than everybody else? You can do this by becoming an Xbox Insider. This is Microsoft’s system to let passionate Xbox fans test features early and give valuable feedback to Microsoft.

It’s free to sign up as an Xbox Insider, although the features you get will sometimes depend on certain requirements, such as your Xbox Insider level, platform or region. However, there are plenty of early access features to test out and betas to sign up for.

Table of Contents

Let’s take a look at how to become an Xbox Insider and how you can get access to the higher level Xbox Insider rings for even more early access features.

How to Join the Xbox Insider Program

Despite the name, the Xbox Insider program is available for both Xbox and Windows 10. First, we’ll explain how to join the program on your Xbox One console. After that, we’ll go over the necessary steps to sign up.

For Xbox Users:

Go to the Store tab on the dashboard

Select the Search option

Search for Xbox Insider Hub

Select the Install option

As soon as the app is installed, once you open it you’re automatically enrolled

For Windows 10 Users:

When opening the app for the first time, you must accept the terms and conditions. The Xbox Insider program is Microsoft’s way to gather data about future features, so they will often send emails with surveys and questionnaires asking about your experience.

Once you have accepted the terms, you can start to take part in different Xbox Insider experiences. The opportunities you have will depend on availability, platform, and region. Some features may be available immediately after signup, but others may only be available for a limited time if you apply for them.

Once you’ve installed the Xbox Insider Hub and have accepted the terms, select the Insider Content button to see what features are available for you to test early.

Here you’ll be able to see if there are any specific Insider programs for upcoming games or game updates. When a program is available, it will appear under either the system or games section. Selecting it will give you the option to join.

The majority of Xbox Insider features are available for the Xbox One. To access these features, you must join the Xbox Insider Program under the system section on the Insider tab. The system is split into five different versions, known as rings. You must select your ring before you can get access to some features. To do this, follow the steps below.

Open the Xbox Insider Hub app on your Xbox One.

On the main page, select Insider Content.

Next, select Xbox One Update Preview under the System section.

Select Join.

You will now have access to a certain number of rings. The following are the types of available rings.

Omega – Open to anybody. You will receive system updates shortly before standard users.

Delta – Reach level 2 on the Xbox Insider program and be part of the program for 1 month to get some updates earlier than Omega and standard users.

Beta – Spend 3 months or more in the Xbox Insider Program and reach level 5 on the Xbox Insider program. Get updates even sooner than Delta and Omega users.

Alpha – Only available via invite to regular Xbox Insider members. Get very early access to new features that may still have major issues or bugs.

Alpha Skip Ahead – Another invite only ring that gives users access to features far ahead of other Xbox Insider members. Sometimes Alpha Skip Ahead members gain access to exclusive features that are never available to the other rings.

How to Level Up Your Xbox Insider Account

To get access to new features earlier than other users, you must level up your Xbox Insider account to reach new rings. To level up, you can complete quests and surveys in the Xbox Insider app.

For example, the first quest available to you may be to complete a survey on gaming with others. This particular survey gives 10XP, which puts you half of the way through level 1. It will take some time for new quests and surveys to appear. On top of that, you’ll need to be an Xbox Insider for some time to go to each new ring, as mentioned above.

It can take a long time to level up through each ring in the Xbox Insider program, but if you spend a few minutes each week in the app, you’ll slowly begin to get closer to the beta ring. Once you’re in the beta ring, you cannot get any higher unless you’re invited.

How to Become an Xbox Insider Alpha Ring Tester

While Alpha Ring testers are given access on an invite only basis, there are some steps you can take to increase your chances. To have a better chance at being invited, make sure to take part in as many surveys, quests, and tests as possible.

When offered to give your feedback or report bugs, make sure you do it – many people have mentioned that being active through these methods is what helped them to get an invite.

Ultimately, new Xbox Insider Alpha Ring members will only be invited when Microsoft has the need for them, and there’s no automated process for it like the other rings.

How to Leave the Xbox Insider Program

If you’re a part of the Xbox Insider Program, you may receive emails and messages from Xbox about the program. You can leave at any point to opt out. To do this, follow the steps below.

Open the Xbox Insider Hub app.

In the app, select Settings.

Select Manage account.

Select Close Account.

You can rejoin at any time by opening the app again and accepting the terms, but you will lose your previous XP and tenure.

Summary

Thanks for reading our guide on how to become an Xbox Insider. We hope that this guide has answered any questions you may have about the program. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out.

How Do I Become An Expert Python Programmer?

Learning Beginners Topics

In this section, any new beginner should concentrate on fundamental programming concepts and properly grasp the basic components of programming.

The following is the list of recommendations for a beginner to become an expert python programmer −

Variables − You must understand how variables work, the different types of variables, the scope of variables, and why we even need variables in programming. You can also learn about mutable and immutable data types, which are selfexplanatory.

Operators − Operators are important in programming since they are the tools that are used for computation, variable assignment, condition evaluation, and loops.

Conditions − When it comes to decision-making conditions are dominant. You will need to understand Boolean conditions, conditional chaining, and the statements used to check conditions in this section. This is commonly associated with loops and iteration. You must be familiar with the various loops accessible in the language, such as for and while loops.

Basic Data Structures − Data structures play a key role in every program. There are various other data structures to learn, but the primary focus should be on lists, sets, dictionaries, and tuples.

Functions − Functions are important in any program. The combination of many functions within your programs is what causes the program to behave as expected.

Basic understanding of IO operations − This is not a difficult task. How to read from a text file is the concept to understand. How do you save a text file? Can you read CSV files? These are things you may need to accomplish, especially if you want to create real-world apps or store something in a file. So it will be the fundamental section for you.

Unit testing − You must know how to perform test-driven development in Python or any other programming language.

It is essential that you practice the skills in this area since mastering or having a thorough understanding of the basics will make your Python journey easier.

Learning Intermediate Topics

The following are the main concepts that an intermediate python programmer must learn −

Object-oriented programming (OOP)

Yes, it seems to be a very popular word. It requires a thorough understanding of classes, objects, and many concepts like instantiation, inheritance, abstraction, properties, and others. Learning this will help you a lot. If you only remember one thing from this intermediate level, it’s that you need a solid foundation in object-oriented programming in order to understand anything above this level.

Design patterns

When it comes to object-oriented programming, design patterns and best practices are essential.

Data structures

After you’ve mastered object-oriented, you must learn about data structures. Explore topics like queues, hash maps, and stacks, to name a few. These subjects will be discussed, and knowing the efficiency and temporal complexity in big O notation is crucial. Don’t be frightened if you don’t grasp some of the terminologies. You will make it.

Comprehensions

So list and dictionary comprehensions are extremely cool, fancy-looking things in Python. They are techniques for writing one-liners (writing a whole independent statement in one line).

Lambda functions

These are anonymous functions. These functions are commonly found in collection modules, but they are not limited to them. Learn more about the Lambda function and its finest applications.

Inheritance Dunder Methods

If you’ve ever seen def__init__ or used a function that looks the same, that’s an example of a Python special method. These will be simple to learn once you’ve mastered the functions in the beginner section.

Pip

This is one of Python’s best features because pip is a package manager that allows you to include third-party modules in your codes. This is related to learning about Python environments such as Anaconda and how to use them. You will also learn how to design and use your own modules in this section.

Learning Advanced Topic Decorators

They are associated with object-oriented programming. In layman’s terms, they decorate a function or method.

Generators

Generators are a method to efficiently use memory in Python. Assume you’re generating a collection rather than the whole thing. If you just need access to one item from that collection at a time, you can generate one item at a time. It does not have to be one item; it may be two or three. A generator can be used for this purpose.

Context managers

Context managers are usually indicators of a cleanup operation that occurs after you exit/break the context manager.

Metaclasses Concurrency and parallelism

This needs its own article because it is a really long subject to get into.

Concurrency is the task of running and managing numerous computations at the same time, whereas parallelism is the task of running several computations simultaneously.

Cython

This might definitely be classified as expert or master level, but Cython is essentially how you develop C code that interacts with Python. So, if I have a really performance-heavy piece of code or operation that needs to be done rapidly and I don’t trust Python to do it for me, I can write it in C and then link it up to Python using a module called Cython.

Learning Expert Topics

You most likely have a vision of what you want to do at this stage. Consider it specialization. You can pursue a career in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), or full-time web development. To be honest, each specialist delves deeper into a specific path chosen. There isn’t anything to write about that is relevant at the expert level. Every particular route necessitates more involvement, which you, as the developer, will select.

We cannot offer you a timetable for when you will arrive. It everything usually comes down to your dedication and passion.

Become An Evernote Power User: 10 Must

You can already bend Evernote’s notes, notebooks, and stacks to your will. And maybe you’ve directed your team to use Evernote Business. Evernote is friendly when you’re getting started with it, but the more you use it, the more your notes can pile up, threatening your productivity.

Now that you’ve excelled at the basics, it’s time to dig into Evernote’s arsenal and charge ahead like a true note-taking, to-do-list-tackling warrior. Checkboxes

One of the more popular uses for Evernote is to create lists, such as to-do lists, shopping lists, enemies lists, and the like. A simple text list is fine, but you can enhance the utility of your list by adding checkboxes to the items on it.

Save frequently used searches

Save

Instructions for saving searches on mobile devices are similar. Look for the magnifying-glass icon any time you’ve completed a successful search (that is, a search with at least one result) to save it.

Clip Web pages with Evernote Mobile

Because of the vagaries of smartphone Web browsers, Evernote’s mobile app can’t clip Web pages by default, dulling its utility. There’s no easy workaround for the iPhone, but Android users have a couple of options to make Web clipping possible. Dolphin: Evernote is a free add-on that lets you grab Web pages and pull them into Evernote, although it can only grab entire pages, not partial selections. EverWebClipper ($2.88) gives you more flexibility in what you can snag, if you’re willing to pay for the privilege. The offline option on an iPhone

If you’re an Evernote Premium user, you can configure individual notebooks to be accessible offline, whether you have an Internet connection or not. In your device’s Evernote Settings panel under the Offline Notebooks option, just select the notebooks you want to keep stored on your phone or tablet.

One important caveat: Evernote does not save a copy of every version of every note, but rather makes a backup of your notes on a schedule that runs every few hours. If you make multiple changes to a note over a short amount of time, only the most recent version is likely to be saved. Don’t rely on note history to save you if you accidentally erase your entire document 10 minutes after you create it. Web Clipper

Emailing a webpage or its URL to yourself for later retrieval never seems to work right. This task is especially difficult if you’re trying to save a password-protected webpage or a news story that may simply vanish at a later date.

Evernote’s Web Clipper lets you copy webpages in full to Evernote, but power users know that you don’t have to grab the entire screen. When you use Web Clipper, it will automatically attempt to determine where the “meat” of a webpage is, encircling it in a yellow border and graying out the detritus. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to grab more of the page (Up Arrow) or less of the page (Down Arrow), or to pick a different selection on the page (Left or Right Arrow). When you’re done, press Enter to finalize your clipping and save it.

Master Evernote’s search tool

Evernote has search tags and much more to help you unearth your best notes.

As your Evernote database begins to fill up, you’ll have to rely more and more on searches to find what you’re looking for. You can search for simple keywords, but this tactic will start to turn up a larger number of results, especially if you tend to use Evernote to save lots of information about a narrow set of topics.

To search only within your tags, type tag:tagname or tag:"multiple-word tagname" into Evernote’s search field. To find an exact phrase that comprises multiple words, use quotation marks just as you would in a Web search.

You can use a structure similar to the tag search above to search only for notes within notebooks that contain specified terms in their names. Type notebook:notebookname or notebook:"multiple-word notebookname" into the field.

If you want to find notes that contain your term in the note’s title, try either intitle:term or intitle:"multiple-word term" in your search.

To return notes that contain any of the specified terms inside, type any:term1 term2 term3 in the field. (A standard search for term1 term2 term3 would return only notes containing all three terms.)

If you’d rather get results based on the last time a note was revised, type updated:yyyymmdd into the search field.

Visit Account Info in the desktop app for your Evernote email address.

A quick and easy way to get something into Evernote is simply to email it to your Evernote address. The problem: If you don’t specify where the email should go, it will create a note in your default notebook, with no tags.

When sending an email to Evernote, you can manipulate the subject line to determine where it should end up. Here’s an example of a subject line that covers all the bases:

The Hobbit @Movies #review #4stars #dwarves

This creates a note called “The Hobbit” in your Movies notebook, with tags of “review,” “4stars,” and “dwarves.” Note that you must put the notebook (@) and tags (#) identifiers in the above order. Also, the notebook and tags must already exist before you attempt to use them in an email to Evernote.

Transcribe voice notes

Although Evernote can now convert voice recordings directly to text on Android devices, it can’t do that trick on iOS devices or via recordings made on your PC. You can get around this and make audio notes searchable through a couple of methods. First, you can use a smartphone app like Dragon Dictation to record a voice memo, and then copy the text into Evernote.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party add-in called Voice2Note to do the translation for you directly from Evernote. Just register for Voice2Note online, and record voice notes within the Evernote app normally. They’ll be transcribed and saved behind the scenes. You can also call a special Voice2Note number to create new notes via a simple phone call—something that you can’t do without an add-in on any platform. (Voice2Note is free for five transcriptions per month, or $3 per month if you need more.)

Only a rube uses the mouse to get around desktop apps. The following keyboard shortcuts help you use Evernote even more efficiently on a PC. (The commands are similar on a Mac. And you’ll find even more shortcuts on Evernote’s site.)

Ctrl-Alt-N: Start a new note. (In Windows, this is a global shortcut, meaning that it works from any application as long as Evernote is open.)

Windows-A: Pastes selected text into a new or open note. (Global shortcut.)

F9: Synchronize.

Ctrl-N: New note.

Ctrl-Shift-N: New notebook.

Ctrl-Shift-T: New tag.

Ctrl-Shift-E: Send a note or notes by email.

Ctrl-Shift-C: Insert a checkbox.

Alt-Shift-D: Insert the current time and date.
