Suggested December 2023 How To Convert A Pdf Document To Apple’s Pages Format On Mac
PDF is a versatile format supported by almost all operating systems. You can easily find many free apps that let you work with PDFs and convert, edit, annotate, or sign them.
Pages, on the other hand, is a proprietary software developed by Apple. Only very few applications, like Apple’s own Pages app and LibreOffice, can open them.
But since the Pages app comes pre-installed on all Apple devices, many iPhone, iPad, and Mac users start using it as it’s a great free app to create documents.
Generally, converting a PDF to a Word file or JPG and PNG is super easy. However, options are limited and often not free when it comes to PDF to Pages conversion. Still, I tried several apps and websites and mentioned the ones I think do a good job of converting PDFs to Pages.
1. Manually convert PDF to a Pages documentI fully understand this isn’t the ideal solution you wanted to hear, but give me a moment.
As mentioned earlier, Pages is not an open-source standard; thus, very few unofficial or third-party tools exist that can work with this file format. So, even if an app or site converts to the Pages format, there are limitations.
For example, all the free apps mentioned below (and on posts, you may see on other websites) allow you to convert just limited pages (like the first two or three pages) of the PDF to Pages format for free. You need to buy the premium version to convert PDFs with more pages. Similarly, websites will limit you to one or two conversions per day unless you subscribe to their paid plans.
Because of these limitations, I first want to show you how to convert a PDF to Pages manually:
2) Press Command + A to select all text. You may have to select text individually if there are images between the text. You can also easily extract the photos of the PDF and use them while creating your Pages document.
3) Open the Pages app on your Mac and create a document.
4) Paste the text and add the images.
You have manually converted a PDF to Pages and saved it. But this method works well if your PDFs have just a few pages. If your document has hundreds of pages with text, I recommend automating this task using Mac’s Automator.
2. Use Automator if there are many pagesAutomator is a free built-in Apple app that you can use to extract text from PDF. You can then use that text in the Pages app to create a new Pages file.
Note: This will work properly only if your PDF has simple formatting with text and it isn’t a scanned PDF or one where text is inside images.
Here’s how to extract all the text of a PDF using Apple’s Automator tool on Mac:
3) Drag the Ask for Finder Items action to the right side.
4) Now, select PDFs from the left sidebar and drag Extract PDF Text to the right side.
5) For Output, you can select Plain Text (without any formatting) or Rich Text (which preserves the formatting). You can also set the output folder (Save Output to).
8) Now, open the application you just built using Automator. It will show up in the Launchpad if you saved it to the Applications folder.
Automator will save a new .txt file that has the text of the PDF.
3. Convert PDF to Word and then to Pages1) The Pages app on Mac can open Word (.doc, .docx) files. So, you can convert your PDF file to Word document using your Mac or iOS device.
2) After that, open the converted Word file in the Pages app.
4. Use the Clever PDF appUnlike the manual method (explained above), Clever PDF and the other apps mentioned below can convert most PDFs, including those with images, into a Pages file.
Here’s how to convert PDFs to Pages on Mac:
1) Download the free Clever PDF app from the Mac App Store.
2) Open the app and choose PDF to Pages.
4) Set the desired page settings and output folder.
Clever PDF will convert your PDF document into a Pages file. The free version only converts the first three pages of the PDF.
5. Use PDF to Pages appPDF to Pages is yet another app you can get from the Mac App Store that does what its name suggests. Here’s how to use it:
1) Download and open the PDF to Pages app.
3) Choose to convert all or selected pages.
4) Set the output folder.
6. Use Wondershare PDFelementPDFelement is a powerful app that bundles several PDF tools in it. One of them is the ability to convert a PDF to Pages, and here are the steps for that:
1) Get Wondershare PDFelement from the Mac App Store and open it.
The app will change the PDF document to the Pages format and save it.
7. Use HiPDFHiPDF is an online PDF tool by Wondershare using which you can turn a PDF into a Pages document. Please note that you will have to sign up/log in to download the converted file:
1) Visit HiPDF PDF to Pages Converter in a web browser.
2) Drop your PDF on the website window and hit Convert.
Can the Pages app on Mac open PDFs?The Pages app on Mac, iPhone, and iPad can export the document as a PDF, but it cannot open a PDF file.
Can I convert PDF to Pages using LibreOffice?LibreOffice can open .pages documents. But I could not find an export button to save that Pages doc as a PDF.

How To Sign A Pdf Document In Microsoft Edge
Here is a guide that shows you how to sign a PDF document in Microsoft Edge. Signatures are basically used to get or provide consent or approval on documents like contracts, legal documents, applications, forms, and more. Just like how you add inked signatures on a hard-paper document, you can also add an electronic signature to your PDF document in the Edge browser.
Microsoft Edge is a great PDF viewer for Windows 11/10 with some good PDF reading and annotation tools. Additionally, you can easily draw and add a handwritten signature to a PDF document right from the Edge browser. In this post, we will discuss two methods to electronically sign a PDF document in Microsoft Edge. Let us check out these methods now!
How to Sign a PDF document in Microsoft EdgeThese are the main methods to sign a PDF document in the Edge browser:
Use the Draw tool to sign a PDF in Edge.
Digitally sign a PDF in Edge using an add-on.
Now, let’s discuss these two methods in elaboration!
1] Use the Draw tool to sign a PDF in EdgeYou can simply sign a PDF file using the Draw tool in the Edge browser. These are the basic steps to digitally sign a PDF in Microsoft Edge:
Open the Microsoft Edge browser.
Import a PDF file.
Select pen color and thickness.
Draw a handwritten signature anywhere on the PDF.
Save the signed PDF document.
Let us discuss the above-mentioned steps in detail!
Firstly, simply launch the Microsoft Edge browser on your PC. Then, you need to import a PDF document file that you want to sign using the Ctrl + O hotkey.
So, this is how you can easily sign a PDF document in Microsoft Edge using its native draw feature.
2] Sign a PDF in Edge using an add-onSome add-ons for Edge enable you to add a signature to your PDF right in the browser. In this post, we are going to use this free add-on service called Digital Signature for PDF Files. It is a dedicated add-on service using which you can add handwritten signatures to a PDF file in the Edge browser. This add-on service also lets you draw individual handwritten signatures and download them in PDF, JPG, and PNG format. You can then add the created signatures to your Word, PDF, and other documents.
Here are the main steps to sign a PDF in Microsoft Edge using this add-on:
Launch Microsoft Edge.
Go to the Edge Add-ons page.
Search and Install the Digital Signature for PDF Files add-on.
Press the PDF and Advanced Options button.
Import a PDF document.
Add a handwritten signature with customized line width, color, etc.
Save the signed PDF document.
Now, let us elaborate on these steps for you!
Next, press the Get extensions for Microsoft Edge option and it will navigate you to the Edge Add-ons page.
After that, you need to set up the drawing options to draw a signature including minimum line width, maximum line width, minimum dot distance, pen color, and velocity factor. Configure these options and then draw a signature on the PDF at any part of it. You can also select the page of the PDF on which you want to add a handwritten signature.
In case you want to delete the added signature and draw a new signature, tap on the New Signature option and then draw your signature. It also provides you an Undo option to undo a previous action.
This is how you can draw a signature and sign a PDF document in Microsoft Edge using this free add-on.
How do I edit a PDF in Microsoft Edge?Microsoft Edge allows some basic editing as of now. It provides a few annotation features including Highlight, Draw, and Erase using which you can draw annotations on a PDF document. You can also rotate pages of a PDF document in Edge.
Also, the new Chromium-based Edge browser supports Chrome-based extensions, so you can search for a PDF editing extension on the Edge Add-ons page and install one to edit PDF in Edge.
How do I sign a PDF in Windows 11/10?Signing a PDF in Windows 10 is quite easy. You can draw and add a signature to a PDF in Windows using various software and tools like Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, Foxit Reader, SmallPDF, and some other PDF readers.
How do I enable digital signature in Microsoft Edge? You can enable digital signature in Microsoft Edge. However, this feature is available in the Microsoft Edge Canary version as of now. You can check out the detailed procedure to enable and validate the digital signatures in Microsoft Edge that we covered earlier.
TIP: DocuSign lets you sign documents electronically
How do I digitally sign a PDF in Windows 11/10?It is quite easy to digitally sign a PDF document in Windows 10. You can use a free software like Advanced PDF Utilities Free that allows you to edit as well as digitally sign a PDF file. Also, you can electronically sign a PDF document right from your Edge browser that we already discussed in this article.
Hope this article helps you sign a PDF document in Microsoft Edge browse using two simple methods.

Failed To Load Pdf Document In Chrome
For some PC users, you may get the Failed to load PDF document error message when you try using the built-in PDF Viewer to open a PDF document in Google Chrome on your Windows 11 or Windows 10 computer. If you have encountered a similar issue, then this post is for you! In this post, we offer suggestions that can help you resolve the issue.
This issue can also occur in other browsers that have a native PDF reader/viewer. You are likely to encounter this problem in Chrome due to the following reasons.
Google Chrome is not updated.
The built-in PDF viewer is not equipped to view protected PDFs.
Misconfigured settings or an issue with the browser itself.
In one particular case where you may get the error message, it simply indicates that the web browser you are using, Google Chrome, is trying to open a secured PDF file within its own native PDF Viewer. In this case, you will have to open the protected PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader or any other desktop PDF application on your PC.
Failed to load PDF document in ChromeIf when you try to use the built-in PDF Viewer to open a PDF document in Google Chrome on your Windows 11/10 PC and you receive the Failed to load PDF document error message, then you can apply our suggested fixes/workarounds presented below in no particular order to easily resolve the problem on your system.
Make sure Chrome is updated to the latest build/version
Configure Chrome to download instead of opening a PDF
Clear Chrome browser cache
Disable/Remove problematic Extensions
Use the third-party PDF Viewer Extension
Reset/Reinstall Chrome browser
Use another browser PDF Viewer
Let’s see these listed suggestions in detail.
1] Make sure Chrome is updated to the latest build/versionAs reported by some affected PC users, the Failed to load PDF document error message could be due to an outdated browser. Sometimes, a glitch or a bug can appear once in a while and affect a particular software functionality – in cases like this or to prevent issues from arising, the best step to take is to always ensure you manually check for and update your browser periodically by following the steps below – sometimes Chrome won’t update without user intervention.
Open Chrome.
A new tab will open that shows you the current version installed on your PC. Additionally, Chrome will check for updates. If an update is available, you will be prompted to install it.
Restart the browser once the update completes.
If the issue persists, you can proceed with the next fix.
2] Configure Chrome to download instead of opening a PDFThe error in view might occur due to your content settings in the Chrome browser. By default, Chrome is set to open PDF files internally, but you might be able to change this behavior by simply disabling the PDF Viewer in Chrome and choosing to open PDF files in a dedicated PDF Viewer, but you will have to configure Chrome to download the PDF file instead of opening the file. Once you have the document downloaded, then you can open the file normally using Adobe Acrobat Reader or any of the alternative free dedicated PDF readers for Windows 11/10.
To configure Chrome to download instead of opening PDF documents on your device, do the following:
Open Chrome.
Go to Settings.
Under the Privacy and security section, scroll down to Advanced.
Now, make sure the Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome option button is toggled on.
Unless you choose a different location, the PDF document will be saved to the default location below:
Read: Make Microsoft Edge download PDF files instead of opening them
3] Clear Chrome browser cacheThe Chrome browser just like other browsers stores all sorts of files (like Cookies and SuperCookies) on the PC to display certain websites faster, but sometimes cache files can get corrupted, and this can potentially lead to various errors, and likely the error you are currently facing. So, to rule out the possibility of a corrupt browser cache being the culprit here, you can clear the Chrome browser cache and see if that solves your problem. Else, proceed with the next suggestion.
Read: Difference between Cache and Cookies
4] Disable/Remove problematic ExtensionsIf Chrome is failing to load PDF documents when you try to view these files, it could also be due to some extensions might be interfering with your browser. In this case, to troubleshoot, you can simply disable all extensions, and then restart Chrome. If the issue doesn’t reoccur, one of your extensions is certainly causing the problem. Now, you can enable the extensions one by one and in between, see if you can open PDF files using the Chrome inbuilt PDF Viewer. Once you identify the problematic extension(s), you can remove the add-on from the browser or just leave it disabled.
5] Use the third-party PDF Viewer ExtensionSome affected PC users reported they were able to resolve the issue in view by downloading and enabling an extension called PDF Viewer in Google Chrome. So, you can try this workaround by following these steps:
Confirm adding this extension.
Restart Google Chrome.
6] Reset/Reinstall Chrome browserSometimes, it could be that your current Chrome installation is corrupted or some of the customization or settings you applied on the browser are preventing some of the functions of the browser from working properly leading to the issue in highlight and many other problems. In this case, the most practical solution is to first reset the Chrome browser to default settings. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, you can then reinstall Chrome completely. To uninstall Chrome, we suggest you use Uninstaller Software which will remove all files and registry entries associated with Chrome, ensuring that leftover files don’t interfere with future installations. Afterward, download and install the latest version of the browser on your Windows 11/10 PC.
7] Use another browser PDF ViewerSometimes, it could be the issue at hand is just Chrome browser-related. So, suppose you would prefer to have your PDF documents opened in a web browser. In that case, you can use Firefox PDF Editor or fire up and use Microsoft Edge PDF Viewer since the browser is built into the Windows 11/10 operating system, so you don’t need to install the browser.
I hope you find this post helpful!

How To Type On A Pdf (For Windows, Mac, Android & Iphone)
This guide will teach you how to type on a PDF or edit a PDF document.
PDF stands for “Portable Document Format”, and it is basically a file format created to help share documents across different platforms.
This file format is designed so that any given document looks identical regardless of the operating system and other software used to display or print it. This is the reason why PDFs are not editable.
Because the editing capabilities of PDF files are turned off, it can be a hassle when you want to edit or type on such a document
Sure, you can always print the PDF and fill it or edit it manually, but doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of an electronic document?
There are several solutions you can use to edit or type on any PDF document.
Let’s explore these solutions below.
One of the easiest ways to type on a PDF is to use Microsoft Word.
And the idea is to first convert the PDF document into a Microsoft Word document, edit all you want, and then convert it back to PDF again.
The screenshot below shows a certificate in a PDF document which we’ll be editing and typing on it a different name.
The steps below will show you all the instructions.
To open a PDF in MS Word, first open your Microsoft Word Document, press Ctrl+O shortcut on your keyboard and browse for the PDF you want to edit.
Once you attempt to open the PDF file inside Microsoft Word, you may get a pop-up message that says something like this:
Word will now convert your PDF to an editable Word document. This may take a while. The resulting Word document will be optimized to allow you to edit the text, so it might not look exactly like the original PDF, especially if the original file contained lots of graphics.
Now that you have a fully editable document, make all the necessary edits you want.
If the PDF file is one you’ve created yourself in Word or another program, it opens immediately and is ready for editing.
Word differently treats PDFs that are downloaded from the Web, received as an email attachment, or opened from a potentially unsafe medium location. In such cases, the converted PDF file will initially open in a Protected View.
In this example, we just want to change the name on the certificate as seen in the screenshot below.
After you’ve edited and typed on the content, simply convert the Word document back to a PDF document.
This step too is as easy as saving a file, but not quite as fast.
Alternatively, go to the File tab, then Save as/Save a copy, and select PDF or XPS document in the Save as type drop-down list.
You can open the edited PDF file to see how it looks after the changes you’ve made.
If you are a Mac user you can type on any PDF using the Preview App that comes bundled with the Mac Operating System. There’s a lot of great features in the Preview app to help you work with PDFs.
Obey the following instructions.
This icon looks like a marker inside a circle located in the top toolbar of the preview window.
This should create up the textbox in the middle of the page.
You can move this textbox by dragging and dropping it anywhere on the page. It’s also possible to resize it so that it fit the layout of the PDF.
Once you are happy with the textbox placement, you can start to type in the text box inside the PDF.
Once you are done typing on the PDF, you can make changes to the font, size, or color of the text.
You should see a small formatting box that you can use to change the font such as the font style, font size, justification, italic, bold, or underline.
In this section, I want to show you how to type on a PDF in your web browser for free.
And so far, our favorite online PDF editor is the Sedjda editor.
This online PDF editor is cool because it doesn’t require any installation at all and its free version gives you pretty much everything you need to type on a PDF.
Sejda PDF is a freemium service which means that they have some additional functionality you can get with the premium version.
But the free version is pretty good.
However, there are a few limitations with the free version which is that you can only type on PDF files that has up to 200 pages or 50MB and 3 tasks per hour.
For most needs, this is more than enough and that’s why we recommend this service.
Obey the following instructions to type on a PDF using the Sejda editor.
Since the tool is completely online you do not need to download and install anything.
Once you visit the website, you’ll see right away, a button that says “Upload PDF file”.
Immediately you open your PDF file, the tool will straight away convert it into an editable document on which you can type and edit all you want.
There are other cool things you can do with Sejda PDF editor which include changing fonts, adding links, adding images, adding new form fields, adding signatures, erasing non-editable elements, adding shapes, and a Find & Replace functionality.
Thus, Sejda has a lot of richness above and beyond just typing on a PDF.
And these are the 3 simple steps you may take to type on a PDF.
In this section, I want to show you another way to type on a PDF using LibreOffice.
There’s a PDF tool called LibreOffice Draw built into this suit that allows you to open and type on a PDF.
The one downside of this method is that it requires you to download an entire Office suite which includes apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Once you are done installing the tool, go to your start menu and search for LibreOffice draw to fire up the drawing app, and then obey the following instructions.
First, you need to open the PDF file in the LibreOffice draw app.
Once you open the PDF, it’ll straight-away convert into an editable document allowing you to edit type your own text on the PDF.
With LibreOffice Draw, you can also do more than just edit text. It gives you full control of the PDF and you can do anything to it including typing in your own text, inserting images and shapes, adding links, highlighting objects, and many more.
Once you are done making all the changes you want to the file, you can then export it back into a PDF.
Adobe Acrobat Pro is your best bet for anything to do with PDFs, scanned or not.
This solution’s only drawback is the cost. If it weren’t for the price, it would be the best choice for PDF-related tasks.
It includes everything you’ll need to work with PDF files. Any scanned pdf document can be created, edited, and text can be extracted, typed, or copied without wasting a lot of time.
If you don’t already have Adobe Acrobat DC Pro on your computer, you can try it out for free here. For the first seven days, it’s completely free.
If you’re still here, you’ve probably already finished downloading and installing the application. Or perhaps it’s already on your computer.
To edit and type on your pdf, simply follow the steps outlined below.
The pdf will be transformed into an editable or searchable document in a matter of seconds. When this occurs, you will be able to type on any part of the document at this point.
Save the document after adding your text.
Additionally, you have the option of saving the file in Microsoft Word. You’ll be able to make changes to the pdf’s content right from within Word this way.
Everyone knows we used to rely heavily on computers back in the day, and this was especially true for document editing including typing on PDFs.
Nevertheless, in today’s fast-paced world, it’s difficult to get even a minute to figure out what needs to be edited, and when.
Luckily, many PDFs can now be edited from a smartphone or tablet, and you don’t have to spend time sitting down at your computer to do it.
The question now is, how do you edit and type on PDFs on the go using Android or iPhone? We’ll walk you through all the easy solutions if you stick with us through this section.

How To Convert A Live Photo Into A Video On Iphone And Mac
Live Photo compatibility is pretty much non-existent outside the Apple ecosystem. That’s why the iPhone and Mac auto-converts live images into JPEGs while sharing them via apps such as Mail.
But one way to preserve a Live Photo’s dynamic nature and improve compatibility is by converting photos to a video. That also helps retain audio, which is not possible when turning Live Photos into GIFs.
Table of Contents
Convert Live Photos to Video on iPhone Using the Photos AppIf you want to convert a Live Photo into a GIF on the iPhone, you can use nothing but the native Photos app for that. However, the option that lets you do that is tucked away inside its Share Sheet and is easy to miss.
1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
2. Switch to the Albums tab and tap Live Photos (under the Media Types section) to bring up a list of all Live Photos on your iPhone.
3. Select the Live Photo you want to convert.
4. Tap the Share button in the lower-left corner of the screen.
5. Scroll down the Share Sheet and tap the option labeled Save as Video. The Photos app should save the Live Photo as a video instantly.
5. Open the Recents album on your iPhone or tap Videos under Media Types to locate the converted video.
6. Repeat for any other Live Photos you want to convert.
The Photos app converts Live Photos to videos using the HEVC (High-Efficiency Video Coding) standard. You can check that by swiping it up to view the video’s metadata. Since HEVC encoded videos tend to lack support on non-Apple devices, the Photos app auto-encodes them in the H.264 format to improve compatibility while sharing.
You can also use the Photos app to convert multiple Live Photos. However, that results in a single continuous video instead of individual photo files. If that’s not what you want, use a shortcut instead (check the next section).
Convert Live Photos to Video on iPhone Using the Shortcuts AppAlternatively, you can use a shortcut to convert Live Photos to videos on the iPhone. You need to have the Shortcuts app for that. If you can’t locate it, you can get it off the App Store.
The Shortcut app’s Gallery does not include a native shortcut that converts Live Photos to video. However, you can use an external shortcut that supports the functionality. Just add our pre-made shortcut, and you should be good to go.
3. Use the Photos selector to select the Live Photo or Photos you want to convert. To access your Live Photos only, switch to the Album tap and select Live Photos.
4. Tap Add.
5. Pick an album to save the converted videos. You should see a notification once the shortcut finishes performing the conversion from Live Photo to video.
Rather than downloading a shortcut, you can create your own shortcut featuring similar functionality. Tap the Add icon at the top-left corner of the Shortcuts app, search for and add the following actions, and modify them accordingly.
Select Photos – To set up the shortcut to pick multiple Live Photos, expand the action and enable Select Multiple.
Encode Media – You don’t have to modify this action.
Save to Photo Album – To receive a prompt to pick a save destination each time you perform a conversion, tap the Recents variable and select Ask Each Time.
Show Notification – Add an appropriate confirmation message—e.g., Done.
Follow that by specifying an icon and a name from the top of the shortcut creation screen. Then, tap Done. You can then start using the shortcut immediately.
Convert Live Photos to Video on Mac Using the Photos AppOn the Mac, you can use the Photos app’s Export function to turn a Live Photo into a video.
1. Open the Photos app on your Mac.
