Google Chrome is one of the best browsers available on the internet. Google Chrome is undoubtedly the most used web browser out there.

It is popular among users because of its speed and reliability as it is designed to load quicker than other browsers and efficiently. It is also safer against malware and phishing attacks due to Google’s native virus and malicious application checker tool and its regular security updates.

Chrome is however not perfect, and some errors start popping up here and there. It is a resource-heavy application. The most common issue would be Chrome takes forever to open and performance issues. Many users have reported that opening Chrome takes up a lot of time, and may take up to 15 minutes as well.

We have shown a VIDEO walk through at the end of the post for easy solution.

A third-party extension that you installed may be interfering with the startup of the Chrome browser. Some extensions are loaded along with the start-up of Chrome, and these extensions can delay the startup of Chrome.

The User Profile that is stored in the installation directory can sometimes be corrupted or changed in a way that leaves the browser inoperable.

A network issue may be interfering with your browser loading.

Now that we know what are the potential reasons the browser may be misbehaving, we can deploy some fixes to solve the issue.

If you started witnessing this error after you installed an extension, it is possible that some broken extension is causing the error you are facing.

The extensions by default are disabled in this mode, and you can confirm that the error was caused by some broken extension if you don’t face this error anymore in Incognito mode.

Start by enabling the extensions one by one and check if the error persists.

If you did not find a broken extension is causing Google Chrome running slow on Windows 10, here is another method you can try to try and fix the error.

The User Profile is stored under the Default folder in Chrome’s installation directory. If for some reason this gets corrupted, the browser can take a lot of time to load and hamper your experience. To solve this error, follow these steps:

Close all instances of Google Chrome running on your system.

Open a Run You can use the shortcut Win + R.

%LOCALAPPDATA%GoogleChromeUser Data

Here, locate the Default folder.

6. Run Chrome.

Now the user profile library will be created again, and you should see a faster loading time for Chrome.

If enabled, the hardware acceleration uses computer hardware specially made to perform some functions more efficiently than possible in software running on a general-purpose CPU.

If the hardware is used to smoothen the performance, the resources tangled in doing so can cause a delay in loading times.

There is, unfortunately, no method to turn off Hardware Acceleration in Chrome from outside the app. Follow these steps to disable hardware acceleration in Chrome:

Open Google Chrome.

Select Settings.

Under the System subsection, locate Hardware Acceleration.

Turn the toggle towards Off next to “Use hardware acceleration when available”.

7. Restart your browser.

This should change and reduce the loading time.

If still Chrome takes forever to open, there may be an issue with the network adapter that is causing the error.

Some users have reported that resetting the adapter settings and performing a DNS flush has solved the errors. To make these changes, follow these steps:

Open an elevated Command Prompt. To do this, open a Run dialog by pressing Win + R and type cmd, press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to launch Command Prompt with administrator privileges.

netsh winsock reset

shutdown.exe -r

ipconfig /flushdns

Following these, you should be able to have solved the error with Chrome’s increasing loading times.

If all other solutions fail, you can try reinstalling Chrome as a last resort. A fresh install will reset all the broken files and settings, and form the data libraries again.

Uninstall the Chrome application from the Control panel. Then remove the residual files as well. To remove the residual files, you can use a third-party junk file cleaner like CCleaner.

Then download a fresh copy of the installer from the Google website (link) and run the installer.

Wait for the installer to finish.

Now check if the issue still persists.

Meddling with registry keys or even with a Registry Editor in any case can prove to be abysmal, especially if you don’t pay heed to the hives. It can simply render your machine unusable. Here, since we are facing errors accessing the system registry and are probably not able to make changes, why not take the help from a specialist?

With the help of a tool like Advanced System Optimizer you won’t have to manually deal with registry issues as they’ll be taken care of by the tool itself.

One such tool is Advanced System Optimizer which has a Registry Optimizer tool which is capable of repairing registry issues in Windows because of which you might be facing unwanted crashes. So, here’s how you can use Advanced System Optimizer to deal with the issue –

1. Install and run Advanced System Optimizer

2. From the left hand side choose Registry Cleaner & Optimizers

4. Try running the System File Checker Scan

One of the reasons why you are facing error in accessing system registry could be the presence of corrupt or missing system files. And, there is no better way to deal with such files than using Windows 10 inbuilt System File Checker.

In the Windows search bar type cmd

When the Command Prompt window opens type

sfc /scannow

Wait for the few minutes for the scan to finish

Restart your computer

5. Use Group Policy Editor

There are also chances that you are receiving errors while accessing the system registry because you have mistakenly disabled it in the first place. Here is how you can use the Group Policy Editor to deal with this issue –

Open the run dialog box by pressing Windows + R keys

Type chúng tôi

When the Group Policy Editor opens navigate to the following path –

Change it to Disabled or Not configured if it is currently set to Enabled

6. Enable Regedit manually

If you are unable to access system registry via the Registry editor, here’s a small tweak with the help of which you should be able to deal with registry issues.

Press Windows + R keys and open the run dialog box

Copy-paste or type the following command ihe dialog box

REG add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Press Enter

Now, open the run dialog box once again and type regedit. You should hopefully be able to access the Registry Editor.

7. Reset your system

If none of the above steps have proved to be useful, you can use this method as a last resort. Here’s how you can reset the system –

Press Windows + I and open Settings

Choose Recovery

Opt for Keep my files

Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved

We earnestly hope that with the above fixes you would have resolved the error in accessing Windows 10 registry. For more such content keep reading Tweak Library. You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Flipboard. You can also subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

The Beginner’s Guide To Tiktok: What It Is, How To Get Started On It

You might know TikTok as “that lip-syncing app for kids”, or “whatever another lip-syncing app for kids chúng tôi turned into”. The truth is, until today TikTok has been downloaded over 1 billion times worldwide, which makes it ridiculously popular.

If you don’t belong to the younger generation, you might find TikTok confusing. Is it a social network, a video editing app, or an artsy tool for creators? There are many things mixed into this app, but that’s what makes it such an interesting phenomenon.

Table of Contents

This beginner’s guide to TikTok will explain what it’s all about and whether you should start using it.

What Is TikTok?

TikTok originated in China, owned by a Chinese company called Bytedance (considered one of the most successful startups in the world). It first became popular under the name chúng tôi before they did a rebranding. That’s why some people still confuse the two.

In a nutshell, TikTok is about creating short 15-second videos that are soundtracked by music (anything from songs from popular artists to little clips from movies and TV shows).

Surprisingly, that’s it. People create those videos and share them on TikTok. Of course, you can also add various filters, do some fancy editing, and get really creative with it. But really it all boils down to how simple it is to start using TikTok.

At the same time, with all its simplicity, the app can seem rather confusing. It’s a giant mix of elements of other services like Vine, Snapchat, and Spotify – all crammed together in a single app.

Who Is a Typical TikTok User?

Aside from its fascinating background story, TikTok also has some interesting demographics. According to statistics, the majority of the users are female. But only 66% of all users are younger than 30.

This straight away makes TikTok an app every parent should know about. If you believe that your kid is too young for TikTok’s content, you might want to look into ways to kid-proof your smartphone.

At the moment, TikTok is attracting more and more audience outside its expected “lip-syncing 13-year-old” profile. It’s been getting the attention of social media influencers, popular starts, comedians, and big brands too.

TikTok is also extremely popular among millenials, due to its being the starting point of many popular memes and challenges.

How To Get Started On TikTok

The beauty of this network is that if you wanted to become a part of it, it’s extremely easy to join in. You don’t even have to want to create videos. You can just use TikTok for your own amusement, killing time while browsing through funny (and sometimes cringey) clips.

If you just want to give TikTok a try and see what kind of stuff you can find on the network, this is what you need to do:

Download TikTok app for iOS or Android.

Open the app.

Start browsing the videos following a quick tutorial.

If you’re feeling more creative than that or get inspired by the videos you find on the app, you can set up an account and start sharing your own videos.

How To Create Your Own TikTok Video

Before you get to share your videos, you’ll need to set up your TikTok account. There are multiple ways to do that. You can use your phone number, email, Facebook, or Instagram.

Creating your first TikTok clip is much easier than for example making your first YouTube video. So even if you’ve never dealt with that kind of content before, you should do just fine following these steps:

In the bottom part of the screen you can choose the length of your clip (15 or 60 seconds).

If you want to make a classic TikTok video, try adding music to it. In the top of your screen, find the Sounds button. There you can access a vast collection of different clips to choose from. For a lip-syncing video, add sound before you start recording. Otherwise, just do this step after.

Other add-ons you can use include filters, beauty effects, changing the speed of your video, or flipping your picture.

Hold the record button to start recording. You can shoot your clip in one or several takes. To get different angles or points of view, press the record button several times. Just make sure you stay within the time limit you have chosen (that’s 15 or 60 seconds).

When you’re finished recording, you can edit your clip before publishing. Some of the TikTok’s post production tools include video trimming, adding (and editing) sound, effects, stickers, and cover images.

Remember that this is a very basic TikTok video tutorial. There are actually many ways that you can have fun on the app creating truly interesting, funny, and engaging content.

Spend some time exploring TikTok, learn about the tools, and see what other users are sharing to get a feel of the app’s full potential.

Should You Use TikTok?

The big question is, should you start using TikTok or sit this one out instead? Well, that really is down to your goals with the app and how much free time you have.

Even though creating and sharing TikTok videos doesn’t seem time-consuming, you will soon find yourself mindlessly browsing other users’ videos whether you intended to do it or not.

In the end, TikTok for you will be whatever you want to make it. Most importantly, remember the app’s original purpose and just have fun with it.

Zoom Cat Filter: How To Get It, Turn On And Turn Off

2023 was the ultimate scenario of what we can achieve through video conferencing. As we started getting used to remote working and distant collaboration, one problem we all came to deal with was deciding whether or not to dress formally or stay in your casual attire. That’s where filters came into the scene, bringing a sense of life onto people’s faces, quite literally.

Unless you lived inside a cave this past week, you might have come across yet another new filter that apparently transforms your face into that of a cat on Zoom. If you’re one of those wondering how you can apply a cat as your face in a Zoom meeting, then the following post should help you achieve that with ease.

What is the Zoom Cat filter?

Last summer, you might have seen video meetings hosting a bunch of potatoes as participants and this time around it’s the face of a cat that’s making the rounds. This is all thanks to one viral video of a Texas lawyer who accidentally turned himself into a cat during a virtual court session and failed miserably to turn the filter off in front of a judge.

If you’re lucky enough to watch the video, you’ll see participants of the court session bursting into laughter when the cat says “Can you hear me? I’m here live. I’m not a cat”. Fortunately, you can also make yourself look like a cat on Zoom if you follow the instructions below.

How to become a cat on Zoom

Zoom’s filter catalog doesn’t include an option that lets you add a cat mask onto your face. To transform yourself into a cat on Zoom, you need to install the Snap Camera application installed on your PC or Mac, enable it and then select the filter from the list of options. Here’s how you get started:

Step 1: Install Snap Camera on your PC/Mac

Once the app package has been downloaded, open it and follow the instructions on the screen to successfully install Snap Camera on your computer.

After Snap Camera is installed on your system, you can proceed to enable it on Zoom, and only then would you be able to apply filters to your face.

Step 2: Enable Snap Camera on Zoom

To enable Snap Camera on Zoom, open the Zoom application on your Windows PC or Mac and go to its Preferences/Settings screen. You can get there by:

There you go, you have successfully enabled Snap Camera on Zoom.

Step 3: Turn yourself into a cat

After you have switched your default camera to Snap Camera on Zoom, it’s now time to turn yourself into a cat. To do this, open Snap Camera on your PC or Mac and grant all the necessary permissions (camera and microphone) for it to function properly.

When you have given the application all the permissions, you will be able to see a preview of your computer’s physical webcam at the top and below it, a bunch of Featured Lenses available on Snap Camera.

Here, search for ‘Zoom Cat’ and you should be able to find the ‘Zoom Cat 3D’ filter in the search results. Alternatively, you can go to this link to get to the ‘Zoom Cat 3D’ filter page using your web browser.

You can now start a meeting on Zoom or join an ongoing meeting to greet others as a cat but with your voice on it. Move your head sideways and open your mouth to make the cat more lively. Others should also be able to see the cat’s face move while you’re speaking during the meeting.

How to remove cat filter from Zoom

Becoming a cat is fun indeed but when you’re called into meetings with your colleagues or clients, being a cat might prove to be cat-astrophic. It’s thus important to check if your face is being presented properly when meetings require you to be serious.

Method 1: Before a Zoom meeting

You can now close the Zoom Settings window and the meeting will now feature your actual face instead of that of a cat.

Method 2: During a Zoom meeting

Select your physical webcam or default webcam from the popup menu that appears. On macOS, your main webcam will show up here as “FaceTime HD Camera”. Select it to switch the cat filter off and use your built-in camera for the Zoom meeting you joined.

That’s all there is to know about Cat filter on Zoom. For more stories on this, check out our dedicated Snap Camera and Zoom sections.

Fixed Cost Vs Variable Cost

Difference between Fixed Cost vs Variable Cost

The following article provides an outline for Fixed cost vs Variable cost. The major difference between these two costs is that the Variable depends on the output of production while the fixed cost is independent of the output.

What is Fixed Cost?

Fixed cost is defined as a cost that does not change its value with any change (Increase or Decrease) in the goods produced or services sold. Changes in activity levels do not affect fixed costs. It does not mean that the cost will remain fixed forever. It means it will be constant for a particular period of time. E.g., The interest amount charged is fixed for the period unless and until it has been renewed. Fixed cost and variable cost are the main two pillars in any industry’s production and service line. There are two types of fixed costs: Committed fixed cost and discretionary fixed cost. The fixed cost can be considered as a sunk cost.

What is Variable Cost?

=Rs 500) (5*200=Rs 1000) (5*300=Rs 1500).

Head to Head Comparison Between Fixed Cost vs Variable Cost (Infographics)

Below are the top 8 differences between Fixed cost and Variable Cost:

Key Differences between Fixed Cost vs Variable Cost

Examples of variable costs are Raw materials, labor, packaging, freight, and commission. As the volume increases, these costs will increase as one extra item to be produced requires more materials, labor, etc. Hence these costs are directly proportional to the volume of items produced.

Examples of fixed costs are rental payments, depreciation, insurance, interest payment, etc. These items do not change even if you increase the volume of production, e.g., even if you produce one extra item, the rental payment needs to do is the same So, Fixed cost.

Variable cost varies with the variation in the volume production. The fixed cost has no relation with the output capacity.

Fixed cost does not change with the volume and remains constant for a given period of time. e.g. Till the time new lease contract is not changed, the lease payment will remain fixed. Variable cost changes with the production volume.

Example of calculating the fixed cost: Supposes the total cost is Rs1000 and the total units produced are 10. Therefore, the fixed cost per unit is Rs1000/10 = Rs100. The variable cost of labor charges is 5Rs per unit of production. Therefore, for making 10 units, it would be 10*5=Rs50. The total cost of production is the sum of the total variable cost and total fixed cost.

Here the only taken variable is labor. We need to consider the variable cost for all the other items and add to the fixed cost to get the total cost as an outcome. fixed cost changes per unit. As the number of units increases, the fixed cost per unit decreases. Variable cost remains constant per unit. Variable cost is directly proportional to the change in production.

If production increases, i.e., if the number of units produced increases, the fixed cost per unit produced drops significantly, increasing the possibility of a greater profit margin and achieving economies of scale.

As mentioned above, the economies of scale production need to be increased to decrease the per-unit fixed cost. So, the risk associated with the fixed cost is higher than the variable cost.

Unless and until production takes place, variable cost does not take place, but fixed cost occurs even if there is no production. For e.g. Even if there is no laptop produced in the laptop factory but the rental charges need to be paid – that is the fixed cost. The labor charges are not paid as no production – that is the variable cost. The fixed cost cannot be controlled and has to be paid. The amount of the production level can control the variable cost.

Comparison Table between Fixed Cost vs Variable Cost

Let’s discuss the top comparison between Fixed Cost vs Variable Cost:

Basis of Comparison Fixed Cost Variable Cost

Definition The cost is fixed. Cost is variable.

Dependent Independent on the volume of production of a company. Dependent on the volume of production of a company.

Behavior Remains constant for a given time. Time-related. Changes with the output level. Volume-related.

Formula It is calculated as the total fixed cost divided by no of units produced. Formula to calculate the total variable cost is (variable cost of one item*no of items produced).

Economies of scale Greater the fixed cost company has more sales the company targets to reach the breakeven point. Variable cost remains flat in nature.

Risk associated It is riskier as the cost depends on the production level. Risk varies as the cost is dependent on the amount produced.

Occurred when These costs occur even if the quantity is produced or not. It cannot be controlled. These costs occur only when the production starts depending directly on the no of units produced. It could be controlled.

Examples Salary, tax, depreciation, insurance, etc. Cost of goods sold, administrative and general expenses on the Income statement.

Variable and fixed costs are completely contradictory to each other but serve a major role in financial analysis. Higher units of production increase profitability as the total fixed cost decreases, while variable cost helps in the contribution margin; therefore, both have unique importance in their ways.
