If you share a computer with children in your home, your kids could end up seeing or listening to something they shouldn’t. To help, Apple offers restrictions in Music and TV apps to prevent inappropriate content from popping up, so parents can better protect kids from explicit content.
Before you begin: You can create a separate standard user account for your child on your Mac. This way, their files and everything else will stay separate. However, even if you let them use your Mac with your admin account, you can still set up restrictions, but doing so, explicit music & videos will be restricted for you as well (unless you go back to settings every time you’re using your Mac and turn these restrictions off).
Set up restrictions in the Music and TV app on Mac1) Open System Settings and select Screen Time.
3) Enable Content & Privacy.
Movies and TV Shows: Choose ratings from the drop-down boxes. The rating here may be different as per the country you’re in. After this, only content of the chosen rating or below will be shown in the Apple TV app and the iTunes Store.
Allow Explicit Music, Podcasts, and News: Turn it off to restrict adult songs, podcasts, and news from playing in Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and the Apple News apps.
Note that these restrictions will only work in the above-mentioned Apple apps.
Next, you can turn on the switch for Use Screen Time Passcode from the first page of the Screen Time settings. When you try to set up the passcode with your admin account, it will ask you to create a standard account. You can choose ‘Allow this user to administer this computer‘ and hit Continue to set the Screen Time passcode.
Or, as mentioned, a better approach is to create a separate user account for your child on your Mac and set up Screen Time with restrictions on that.
On older versions of macOSIf you’re on an earlier version of macOS, the Music, iTunes, and the TV app have dedicated options to restrict explicit content. Here’s how to enable them.
Music:
Choose the Restrictions tab.
Start at the top of the Restrictions tab selecting those items you want to Disable.
Under Restrict, mark the boxes for restricted items. For Movies and TV shows, you can choose ratings from the drop-down boxes.
TV:
Choose the Restrictions tab.
At the top of the Restrictions tab, select Purchasing or Subscribing and/or Shared Libraries if you want to Disable those items.
The Ratings for box should default to your country or region, but if not, you can change it.
Under Restrict, Movies, and TV shows have drop-down boxes for you to pick the ratings you want.
Crossover between Music and TVYou may have noticed that a few items for Restrictions appear in both apps. These include Shared Libraries under Disable and Movies and TV under Restrict.
If you disable Shared Libraries in the Restrictions for one app, it will apply to the other.
If you restrict and set ratings for Movies and TV in one app, it will apply to the other.
This is convenient for those situations where you only want to limit those items.

Apple Pay is extremely convenient and useful for paying in-store, online, in-app, or to friends. It’s available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. Follow along as we walk you through how to get started with Apple Pay.
First and foremost, you’ll need to check whether or not your bank or credit union supports Apple Pay.
How to set up Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or MacOn iPhone or iPad:
Depending on your bank, you’ll need to verify via phone, SMS, or e-mail. Most large banks will send you an SMS verification code, while others may require you to call the bank to verify your identity. This process can be immediate, or sometimes take several days to complete depending on your bank.
Once verification is complete, you’re all set up! Now you’ll be able to tap your iPhone at any store, restaurant, or gas station that accepts contactless payments, use it in apps, on the web, or send/receive money from friends or family through iMessage.

While the process is different for each device, the outcome is the same. The ability to shop securely in apps, on the web, or in physical locations. You can even send and receive money with Apple Pay Cash through iMessage.
On the iPhone, you can either double tap the side button (formerly known as sleep/wake) on the iPhone X to initiate it, or by double tapping the Home button on other iPhones. Or, you can simply hover your phone over a payment terminal and it will automatically appear. You’ll just need to either authenticate with Touch ID or Face ID.
For checking out on the web or in-app on iPad, Mac, or iPhone, look for the “pay with Apple Pay” button in Safari (or in app with the iPad). The same rules apply, simply authenticate with Touch ID or Face ID and you’re good to go.
On your Apple Watch, you can double tap the side button to pay at terminals, or in certain apps you can double tap the side button to pay. Since your Apple Watch is passcode locked, you don’t need any form of authentication here as Apple Watch automatically locks when not on your wrist.

What you need to know
First and foremost, you’ll need a compatible Apple Watch and a supportive cellular plan.
To set up cellular, go to the Apple Watch app → My Watch → Cellular → Set up cellular.
You can also set up cellular on a Family member’s Apple Watch.
If you have set up cellular on Apple Watch, you can use the watch to make calls, receive notifications, reply to messages, and more without help from the paired iPhone. It’s amongst the coolest experience of using an Apple Watch, and you must try it at least once.
The great thing is that it’s quite easy to do so. Let me show you how it works!
Set up cellular on Apple Watch for yourself
Usually, you can enable cellular service on Apple Watch during the initial setup by following the onscreen instructions. It could also be set up later; however, before we go through the steps, let’s check out some prerequisites.
Requirements to set up cellular on Apple Watch
Apple Watch compatibility – Ensure you’re using a cellular model Apple Watch Series 3 or above.
Cellular plan support – Cellular service is not available in all areas or with all carriers, so check Apple’s website to see if you have an eligible cellular plan.
Carrier clause –
The iPhone and Apple Watch must use the same carrier when setting for yourself.
When setting for a family member, they can have different carriers.
If using an enterprise or corporate cellular service plan, check with the company if the cellular plan is supported.
Be in the range – When setting up cellular on Apple Watch, you must be within your carrier’s network range.
How to activate cellular on Apple WatchIf you need some assistance, call the carrier provider. Once the setup is complete, your Apple Watch cellular network is ready to use. But before anything else, let’s test out whether cellular is working or not.
Connect Apple Watch to a cellular networkBy default, Apple Watch selects the most power-efficient network available, whether it’s a Wi-Fi network or a nearby iPhone. So, to test the Apple Watch cellular, turn off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (disconnects the iPhone).
To turn on the cellular network on Apple Watch
Open the Control Center (swipe up from the bottom of the screen).
Check if the cellular icon is:
Green = On
White = Off
If it’s white, touch and hold the icon to turn.

Apple Watch – Series 4 or later with cellular or Apple Watch SE with cellular running watchOS 7 or later.
iPhone – iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14 or later.

Apple ID –

Tap All Watches
Select your family member’s Apple Watch → tap Done.
Tap Cellular → Set Up Cellular.
Follow the onscreen instructions; you might have to contact the carrier for help.

Open the Health app, then tap the “Summary” tab.
Tap on your profile photo in the upper right of the screen, then tap “Medical ID.”
If you’ve never set up Medical ID before, you’ll see a button labeled “Get Started.” Tap this to start setting up your Medical ID. If you’ve already set up your Medical ID, tap “Edit” in the upper-right corner.
List your name, date of birth, and medical conditions. Scroll down and add your blood type, weight, height, and primary language.
Scroll down a little further to can set up your emergency contact. Tap the “add emergency contact” button and a list of your iOS contacts will pop up. Select a person to contact in case of emergency.
When you’re finished, you can repeat this process to add another emergency contact.

Making Everything Available on Your Lock ScreenOne of the biggest reasons to add your medical information to your smartphone is so that anyone around will know key medical information should something happen to you. If your phone is locked, nobody around you can see anything except what you make available here, so it’s important to configure your phone to show your Medical ID and contacts on the lock screen.
Lock Screen Setup for iPhoneThis process is simple on iOS, and you can even do it when first setting up your medical ID.
Open the Health app, tap your profile photo, then Medical ID.
You have two options under Emergency Access. The first one is to show your emergency medical information when the screen is locked. This should say “Enabled.” If it doesn’t, tap “Edit,” then scroll down and make sure to enable the slider next to “Show When Locked.”
The second option is to share your Medical ID when you call emergency services. This is disabled by default, so enable the slider here if you want to share your Medical ID Info This would be helpful in circumstances, such as when you call 911.
Lock Screen Setup for AndroidSetting up your lock screen on Android is simple, but it can vary depending on the manufacturer of your phone. Again, we are focusing on the stock Android experience, but the instructions may vary slightly for you.
Some phones will automatically integrate your COVID-19 vaccination information, but again, this will vary by manufacturer. On some phones, you may only be able to enter a message to display on the lock screen to help you find a lost phone or communicate key medical info.
How to Sign Up as an Organ DonorIn addition to other health information, you can also volunteer as an organ donor if you wish. These instructions are only for organ donors in the United States. Outside the U.S., you’ll need to look into your own local regulations around this.
Organ Donor Info on iPhoneOn iOS, this is right in your Medical ID, along with your other information.
Open the Health app, tap on your profile photo, then select “Medical ID.”
Tap “Edit” in the upper right, then scroll down and tap “add organ donor” to reveal a few settings.
If you do not wish to register as an organ donor, select “No.” Assuming you do want to become a donor, you have two options: select “Yes” or tap the other option to register with the Donate Life organization.
