When Windows 10 was first launched, a lot of us were really excited about it and reserved our free upgrade, installing it as soon as it was available. That being said, some of chose not to upgrade to Windows 10, maybe because of the privacy concerns, program incompatibilities, or satisfaction with a current Windows version. But the thing is Microsoft is automatically downloading the Windows 10 upgrade to all the compatible systems whether they have opted in or not.
Simply put, disregarding your choice, you will be downloading a good 3+ GB in the name of Windows 10. Actually, the Windows 10 upgrade is downloaded to your system only if you have the update KB3080351 installed.
If you are low on space or just want to save your bandwidth, it is a good idea to stop Windows from downloading Windows 10 automatically. After all, you can always download Windows 10 using the official Media Creation Tool. Here is how you can stop automatic download.
Using Group Policy EditorBlocking Windows from downloading the Windows 10 upgrade is pretty easy and straightforward. To start, press “Win + R,” type gpedit.msc and press the Enter button to open Windows Group Policy Editor.
Again, if you don’t have the KB3080351 update installed, you won’t find this policy.
From this point forward Windows won’t download the Windows 10 upgrade. If you ever want to revert back, simply select either the “Disabled” or “Not Configured” option.
Using Windows RegistryIf you don’t have access to the Group Policy Editor, then you can achieve the same using the Windows Registry. To start, press “Win + R,” type regedit and press the Enter button to open the Windows Registry.
Once the Windows Registry has been opened, navigate to the following key.
Rename the newly created subkey to “WindowsUpdate.”
Rename the newly created value “DisableOSUpgrade.”
With these changes, Windows won’t download the Windows 10 upgrade, even if you’ve reserved your upgrade. If you ever want to revert back, simply change the Value Data back to “0” or just delete the newly created key.

How To Stop Mobile Hotspot From Turning Off In Windows 11/10
Windows 11/10 comes with a Mobile Hotspot feature which lets you share your existing internet connection to other devices over WiFi. One of the caveats of this feature is that it doesn’t remain always on. If there are no devices connected to it for over five minutes, Mobile Hotspot will automatically turn off. Stop Mobile Hotspot from turning off in Windows 11/10Here we have taken two scenarios. First is where the Mobile Hotspot feature turns off automatically. The second is where the hotspot disables when there is no internet connection.
Turn off power saving feature
Use Powershell command to change PeerlessTimeoutEnabled settings
Increase Mobile Hotspot idle timeout settings
Increase timeout period when a cellular connection is unavailable
Disable WiFi and network adapter power management options
This feature will not work if you do not have a WiFi adapter. If you are using a desktop, you can add an external WiFi adapter. Before you begin, do remember to create a system restore point first.
1] Turn off Power Saving featureIn Windows 11:
Toggle on Share my Internet connection with other devices
Against Power saving, toggle off the option – When no devices are connected, automatically turn off the mobile hotspot.
In Windows 10:
Toggle on Share my Internet connection with other devices
At the end of the settings, toggle off the option – When no devices are connected, automatically turn off the mobile hotspot.
Post this; even if you do not have a device connected to Mobile Hotspot, it will remain always on. The option is visible only when you turn on Mobile Hotspot.
2] Use PowerShell commandOpen PowerShell with admin privileges, and execute the commands given below:
powershell -windowstyle hidden -command "Start-Process cmd -ArgumentList '/s,/c,net stop "icssvc"This stops Mobile Hotspot Service (icssvc).
Then execute this command:
REG ADD "HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesicssvcSettings" /V PeerlessTimeoutEnabled /T REG_DWORD /D 0 /F & net start "icssvc"' -Verb runAs"This adds a Registry value and then restarts the stopped service.
It will make sure that Mobile Hotspot doesn’t turn off itself.
Here is what the script is doing in the background.
It stops Mobile Hotspot Service (icssvc)
Then it opens:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesicssvcSettings
Creates a DWORD Key PeerlessTimeoutEnabled with value 0
Restarts Mobile Hotspot Service (icssvc)
While you can do this manually, we highly recommend using the PowerShell command for best results.
3] Increase Mobile Hotspot idle timeout settingsThe default timeout when there is no active connection is five minutes. If you do not want to keep it always on, but keep it turned on longer, you can use this method. By changing the same key PeerlessTimeout available at a different location, you can change it to a maximum of 120 minutes.
Open Registry Editor
Navigate to:
HKLMSystemControlSet001ServicesICSSVCSettingsPeerlessTimeoutChange the value of this key to anywhere between 1 to 120
Exit and Restart.
4] Increase timeout period when a cellular connection is unavailableMany a time you want to connect devices, so it becomes part of the network. However, Mobile Hotspot will automatically turn off when there is no internet or mobile data. However, using a registry setting, you can change any value between 1 and 60 inclusive. The default value is 20 minutes.
Open registry editor
Navigate to:
HKLMSystemControlSet001ServicesICSSVCSettingsPublicConnectionTimeoutSet the value between 1-60
Exit and restart
Keeping this on will let you use your computer as a bridge for all devices. You will be able to access files and folders of other devices by sharing them on the network.
5] Disable Wifi & Network adapter Power Management optionsThe WiFi adapter and the network devices have properties that will turn off when on battery, and not used for a long time.
Open Device Manager (Win+X+M)
Expand Network devices list
Select the Wifi adapter, and go to the Power Management tab
Anything related to power saving should be turned off
It will make sure none of the network devices will turn off Mobile Hotspot or trigger anything which will do that.
While you can choose to keep the Mobile Hotspot always on, it will impact your battery life if you use a laptop. Most of the devices with the Mobile Hotspot feature has the same setting to make sure to save the battery.

Download the Upgrade Advisor appMicrosoft is making available the Upgrade Advisor app to help verify if your Windows Phone device is compatible to receive the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade, it will update your phone, and it also will help you free up space as necessary.
Run the Upgrade Advisor app.
If compatible, simple select Enable Windows 10 upgrade.
Tap Next.
Tap Done.
Here are a few requirements:
Device must be running Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 QFE8 or later version of the operating system.
Device must have at least 1.4GB of free space to allow the Windows 10 Mobile download.
A Wi-Fi connection with access to the internet is also required to download and install the upgrade.
Device has to be fully charged before the upgrade.
It’s important to note that while most apps, in-app purchases, and settings will migrate over to the new installation, but some others may not migrate during the upgrade.
Install Windows 10 MobileUsing the Upgrade Advisor is similar to the “Get Windows 10” app — it’s just a way to reserve the copy of the operating system –, when the upgrade becomes available do the following:
On Start, swipe to the left to open the App list, and tap on Settings.
Tap Phone update and install the upgrade.
You should be able to install Windows 10 Mobile immediately or postpone to a later time.
The installation process can take up to an hour depending on your phone and apps installed.
Windows Insider informationIf your phone have the current version of Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build, then you don’t need to do anything. You’re running the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile. However, if you want to stay with stable version, make sure to open the Insider Hub app and switch to the Production ring.
If your phone is not on the list of supported phones, but you are running the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, you can keep using the operating system in an unsupported state. However, Microsoft says that it “will not be offering build updates beyond the Current Branch build 10586,” which means that in a near future, unsupported phones will stop receiving Insider builds. Once updates are not longer available for unsupported phones, you will need to roll back your device to Windows Phone 8.1 to keep getting updates.

The Add and Remove a device or printer option is available in Control Panel. These options are available for all users. However, if an administrator wants, he can remove the access to these options for local users. This article will guide you on how to prevent users from deleting printers in Windows 11/10.
Prevent users from deleting Printers in Windows 11/10 Using Registry EditorThe method which we will show you to disable the Remove Device option is by using the Registry Editor. To use regedit, you must sign in to Windows computer as an administrator.
Follow the below-listed steps:
Copy the following path, paste it into the address bar of the Registry Editor, and press Enter. If you want, you can also go to the path manually.

Access Printers folder

Let’s check all the steps in detail.
In the very first step, you need to open Group Policy Editor (or GPO) window. Use the Search box, type gpedit, and press Enter key to open it. You can also use PowerShell, Windows 11/10 Setting app, and other ways to open Group Policy Editor.
When the Group Policy Editor window is opened, access the Printers folder using the following path:
That setting will open in a new window. There, you have to select the Enabled option.
Later, if you want to allow users to delete added printers, then follow the steps that are covered above and open Prevent deletion of printers setting. After that, select the Not Configured option in the setting window, and use Apply and OK buttons.
Now you and other users will be able to delete any of the local and network printers.
Now, no user can remove or delete the printers installed on your computer.
This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.
If you want to revert the changes, set the value of NoDeletePrinter to 0 and restart your computer. If it does not work, delete the key that you have created.

Does removing a printer remove the driver?The answer is a ‘No’. In Windows 11/10, you can easily remove a printer. However, the printer drivers remain stored in your device memory. It is handy when you have to quickly install a printer again. However, if you don’t want to use a printer ever again, then you should also remove its drivers.
There are various ways using which you can completely remove a printer from your Windows 11/10 computer. For example, you can use the Printer Server properties of a printer, and then remove all the drivers and driver package or you can use Command Prompt window and then execute the command associated to remove a particular printer.
How do I change printer settings in Windows?For each printer installed on your Windows 11/10 computer, you can set different settings. For example, you will be able to set:
Page orientation (Portrait or Landscape)
Paper size
Print quality
Print in grayscale or take a colored print
