When playwright Craig Lucas found himself facing a particularly dark moment in his life seven years ago, a friend suggested he read the Book of Job, the famous Biblical treatise that explores why righteous people suffer.
At the time, Lucas (CFA’73) was approaching 60 and had begun to grapple with a series of big questions: What am I doing? What do I want? What matters? As he read the story of Job, he says, “I began to think about humility and our place in the world and what we can rightly claim as things that lie within our power and things that are beyond our power.” After further readings, including Erik Erikson’s writings on old age, Lucas set out to write a play that would address “what happens when human beings are confronted with what the fates hand them.”
A three-time Tony award nominee, for his original play Prelude to a Kiss and for best book of a musical for The Light in the Piazza and An American in Paris, Lucas began to think about a situation that might challenge a family in a way that was, in his word, “tectonic.”
“I was looking at something that could happen to a family that would be so deeply challenging that it would not just mean the loss of one thing, but the loss of levels of things,” he says. The result is I Was Most Alive with You, a drama that mixes tragedy with comedy. Its world premiere by the Huntington Theatre Company is running through June 26 at the Boston Center for the Arts Calderwood Pavilion.
The play’s action starts on Thanksgiving Day. The protagonist, a young man named Knox, gathers with friends and family and gives thanks for three things that he had previously thought were curses, but has come to see as gifts: being deaf, being gay, and being an alcoholic. “Knox is someone who everyone likes, because he has gotten through some of life’s bigger knocks and he maintains a joyful demeanor and approach and he is loved by his students,” says Lucas.
In the aftermath of a terrible tragedy that befalls Knox later that night, his family and friends struggle to bring him back from the brink of despair. The play, the author says, explores “how we go on in the face of seemingly impossible odds and what is it about life that makes us hold on when our heart is shattered and heavy.”
The idea of making the lead character deaf occurred after Lucas saw Nina Raine’s drama Tribes off-Broadway, with actor Russell Harvard playing a deaf son who brings a young woman who’s slowly losing her hearing home to his comically dysfunctional family. He had previously seen Harvard in the Oscar-winning film There Will Be Blood, and the actor had made an indelible impression.
“There are a handful of actors in America who know that less is more,” Lucas says. “I thought, man, oh man, I want to work with him.” Harvard, who has workshopped the play over several years, stars in the Huntington production.
The cast of I Was Most Alive with You includes both deaf and hearing actors. The play is performed in two languages, English and ASL, with four shadow interpreters appearing on stage, moving in close proximity to the actors they’re interpreting. One of the four is Christopher Robinson, coordinator of outreach and training in BU’s Disability Services office.
But, Lucas say, this isn’t a case of two casts performing the same role simultaneously.
“I see one person playing the role, with the signer or shadow interpreter playing an aspect of the character’s inner psychic life,” he says. To underscore that, the two young white male characters are signed by an African American, the late-middle-age father is signed by the youngest shadow interpreter, and the white female character is signed by an Asian. The actors signing are referred to as shadow interpreters, the playwright says, “because they are literally in the shadows” on the stage.
There’s a very interesting dynamic at work, because at any moment there is one actor signing and another speaking, says Lucas. “They’re very different languages,” he notes. “They have a different grammar, but also English is about a lot of masking and nuance and hiding, and ASL is not about hiding. It’s very much about putting it out there, and the face is the storytelling device that ties together the signs. So ASL is almost two languages: the signs and how the face and body language knit the signs together….There’s something about ASL that has this other music going on, which is completely visual, like hieroglyphics.”
The playwright incorporated ASL into his 1983 play Reckless, but he says that despite studying the language for a number of years, it still evades him. In creating I Was Most Alive with You, he relied on a network of collaborators in the deaf community. Deaf actor Sabrina Dennison provides the artistic sign language direction for the production.
“I wrote the play in English and then I began to elicit the massive aid of people who speak ASL,” Lucas says. “I basically said, ‘Tell me what I got wrong. I do not need to be right about what I wrote. What I need to is to hear what you feel.’” He says that more than once he was disabused of things “that I thought could be achieved in certain ways,” as the piece developed.
The play’s tragedy is leavened by moments of genuine comedy. “In my experience, when people are faced with cataclysmic events, often they somehow survive through seizing hold of things,” he says. “In my life, whenever someone is dying, there is always somebody in the next bed watching Let’s Make a Deal.”
For this production, Lucas is doing double duty as playwright and director, but he says he didn’t set out to direct the play, even though he has directed productions of some of his earlier work, as well as the films The Dying Gaul and Birds of America. He says in some ways the play’s complex nature makes it easier to direct. “To simply sort out the Thanksgiving scene with one deaf person, one hard-of-hearing person, one person who signs really well, one person who signs sort of okay, a bunch of people who kind-of, sort-of sign, somebody who is resolutely refusing to sign, somebody who won’t wear their implant—it’s madness,” he says.
Despite Lucas’ long involvement with the play, he, Dennison, and others involved in the production were still tweaking a couple of weeks before the show’s opening. During a recent rehearsal of the Thanksgiving dinner scene, it became apparent that the sequence—at 25 pages, the longest in the play—wasn’t working. “None of us knew what to do,” Lucas says. “Because it’s such a long sequence, and everyone is seated in it, we literally began moving chairs around. We kept going, ‘Hey, what if mom was actually up on the higher level and what if they were in profile?’” It took hours before they were satisfied that they had a workable solution.
Lucas, whose first play was staged 35 years ago and whose other plays include Blue Window, The Dying Gaul, and Prayer for My Enemy, says I Was Most Alive with You marks something of a departure for him.
“I have noticed with this play that I am less interested in being clever….I am learning very late that the music of something and the underground river of a story need not be in words. They can be in the design,” he says. “I am noticing with this play in particular that the dramatic gesture is not in the words. It exists on a much deeper level. It is the skeleton, and the skeleton is the thing that you really have to protect.”
Asked if he could have imagined writing this play any earlier in his career, Lucas answers with a flat no, adding that now that the play is being staged, “I cannot imagine that I wrote it at all. There is something that happens for me where writing is more like an act of dictation. When you are working well, you are kind of there as a conduit for something that is coming from your unconscious and coming from a deeper force. I am not clever enough to have written this play. But I lived through things that allowed me to sit there in the room and write down what appeared.”

Those of us that undertake the daily task of writing for our blog, articles for our clients or newsworthy press releases can sometimes lose the will to live when ideas are sparse. Words are fused together within a weave of conjunctions and contractions that make up an ugly, SEO monster that would terrify even the most experienced reader.
Fortunately, there are ways to become a modern day Frankenstein and create content to make it every bit electrifying as your last creation. The brains of any content; The Title
Whether you are passionate about what you’re writing or understand little about a subject, an intriguing and interesting title can give you that burning desire to research and discover more about what you’re expressing to readers, rather than work your fingers to the bone for nothing in return.
Of course, in terms of SEO, the title holds many keys to success. With a clever, key word rich title, the appearance of said text will therefore appear within a search, exposing your business for all it’s worth.Add meat to the bones; the main body
Regardless of how you devise content, writing all starts with a skeleton (idea) that needs padding out with fleshy sentences and muscular description. When it comes to creating the bulk of your article it is better to break down into bite-size chunks rather than sieve through dense ideas.
Neck and torso;
Similar to the head (title), the neck and torso (introduction) hold all of the other ideas together. Whatever is written after this will be a reflection of what was initiated at this stage. How you develop these ideas is up to you, but remember; A limp frame will not be able to support anything that is added on to it causing it to crumble under the weight of under developed ideas. A strong, sturdy start will make for a strong and sturdy article.
SEO is all about gaining exposure making you the best at what you do. Without proving this in everything you do, not only will people not take you seriously, but the search engines aren’t likely to either.
Developing your ideas from what you have set out to discuss in your introduction will make your content far easier to write. If you don’t know where you’re going with your ideas, neither will your readers; resulting in people fleeing in horror.
Keep to the point that you set out to make within the title and introduction. Everything attached to your initial idea should follow through and not leave readers disappointed.
Your lungs should breathe fresh air into a topic not create a stale atmosphere with rewritten text. Make sure if content has already being covered that your make it your own and take on an angle that makes you piece stand out against other works.
Wrap up your monstrous ideas within your conclusion, making it complete and ready to be sprung into life. The conclusion of any writing project should a pull everything together, completing the final piece and showing it in all its glory. All the bits and pieces used to create something new and interesting should all be finalised, anything left hanging around will not only frustrate your readers, but cause the whole piece to fall apart and seem disjointed.Bringing Your Article To Life: Switch on the power.
Writing an article that is SEO friendly is all well and good, but sitting on your desktop will do nothing for your listings. It’s time to plug in and switch on and get that creation out there moving across the web. Submitting it to industry specific blogs, categories and exposing it on all forms of social media will make all the work worthwhile.
Don’t forget to link back to your website or blog and let readers know the inventor. If you’ve produced exciting and intriguing content, it will only spur you to keep creating and bringing words on a page to life.
Like millions of people around the world, I am an Android fanboy. Recently I though about sharing some of my aspects which I don’t like about Android. Eventhough being Android has gotten better over the years but there are still many things I dont like about it. To put it bluntly, I hate Android, at least some of its features. I have used Linux for a few years since Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon and fell in love with the open source movement. Ive come to realize that all the hype about being open and portraying Apple and RIM as the evil closed platform was all a deception. . Theres a list(I love lists). Lets go through them. I hate some of the UI. Customization is nice but it allows for more things to break. These include themes and design. At first, the UI was cool and beautiful. I felt like I had a computer in my hands, literally. Icons were nice to touch and scrolling was smooth(at first). After using it for a while, I started to experience the pains of using the touch screen. Mistypes, and mistaps were frequent. The Android experience varied depending on manufacturer. All the different flavors of Android pushed by their respective hardware developers all look different. OneUI, TouchWiz, and MotoBlur are all different. OneUI is probably the best(IMO) out of all these. TouchWiz makes me feel like Im using an iPhone and MotoBlur is a mess with all their social networking widgets. These skins load on top of Android making it slower than its vanilla stock core. When I get my phone, I hate all the bloatware that comes with it. All carriers seem to do it. They push Vcast, SprintTV and other bloatware that I dont want. The Chinese manufacturers Xiaomi,Oppo,Vivo are the notorious ones feeding bloatware just to compnsate for the cheap price they offer in some countries. Not only that, but I hate that I cant delete them. I hate knowing that they are on my phone and the only way for me to get rid of them is by rooting my phone. Why do I have to jump through hoops just to get rid of this crapware? Im not scared of rooting my phone. In fact, Ive done so and install a few custom ROMs but there is always a risk of bricking your phone and leaving it useless. Average users dont want to risk the warranty by rooting their phone. Not only are there crapware on the phone, but there is/was malware on the Market. I hate Andoid memory management, being an old Symbian OS user.Symbian was the most efficient Mobile Os in memory management, followed by iOS. My old Nokia 808 Pureview had just 512MB RAM which was handling the Mammoth Camera, the 41MP beast with Xenon flash. I know that comparing a Symbian Phone with very limited apps and strict developer requirements with Android which has an ocean of apps and simpler developer standards is not fair. But are these crazy RAM of 12GB,16GB etc etc in many high end Android Phones really necessary? Or are they worth the performance they offer compared to iOs? Expanding from the 1st and the 3rd reasons, I hate Androids software fragmentation. I hate that Motorola’s flavor is different from Samsung’s. I hate that the buttons are different in all manufacturer, and even sometimes, within the same manufacturers. And I hate that I cant install certain apps because I my phone doesnt have the latest and greatest version of Android. Notoriously all my Samsung Phones from Galaxy S3 to Galaxy S9 Plus started showing sluggishness after 1 year of usage. The problem being whenever I update an app, the hardware is not able to cope with newest software. Android isВ recognized as the open platform and that unadulterated Android experience does not come standard. It only comes standard on Googles Nexus phones and Selected flagship phones from other manufacturers. But most people dont own these flagship devices. Most people get their Droids from their carriers. Not only are these phones locked down with carrier bloatware but they are also locked down from performing specific tasks. People have gotten around this issue by a process called rooting. This grants the user superuser status allowing him to do anything he wishes with the phone. The Nexus phones are relatively easy to root but carrier phones are harder. Android phones are great if you want the phone to be your hobby, if you dont mind tinkering with the device, rooting it, or if youre just a techno buff.
Side note, I am talking about reputable SEO & Web marketing companies and consultants in this post. Do your homework.
If your business is considering working with an SEO and Web marketing company (or consultant) I have 12 suggestions below that could help your business relationship remain a good one.
I think there are times that businesses don’t realize that their behavior is offensive to those they are working with – this can be from a lack of understanding or after dealing with many employees & vendors they forget how to respect others.I can tell you that this is one industry that has no issue with firing clients and here are a few reasons why:
What we do makes our clients a lot of money. We make you a lot more money than you pay us and when we don’t get respect we have no reason to stay involved.
There is always another client that will appreciate what we do and treat us right.
Life is too short to be stressed and irritated over a client. We have families for that and we don’t need it at work.1). Show Respect, the More the Better.
We have the skills to create a very stable foundation for your online marketing efforts, improve your business reputation and make you a lot of money. The only way to get skills such as these is years of study, practice, work and implementation.
You are paying not only for the knowledge and skills we have to help you succeed, you are also paying for the knowledge that prevents your campaign from failing. Believe it or not these are two different skills.2). Don’t be Condescending!
When you behave in a condescending manner you doom the relationship from the start. No one likes being spoken down to and if a consultant or company doesn’t end the relationship over this type of behavior they will have no reason to work hard for you. You want people like us to work hard for you. You want us to work harder because we enjoy the business relationship and appreciate the respect we receive. This applies to any industry!
Oh, and don’t let members of your staff be condescending either. They can kill a business relationship that you need and appreciate.3). Remember, You Have Responsibilities Too.
Let me review some of the things clients tend to forget:
Website projects cannot get done without content and images. If you are late the website launch date will be late. Adding and formatting content takes a lot of time. The optimization takes a lot of time. Editing, uploading and placing images takes a ton of time. None of this can be done at the last minute.
Don’t be late for meetings because you are wasting our time and costing us money. Who says we don’t have other things to do? We have meetings after meetings with you, we have work to do and projects to finish. When you are late you are literally taking money from us.
Campaigns cannot be started without the data we need to do the research required to create a successful campaign. If you don’t provide the data in a timely matter do not expect the services you need to be done on time.
Read the emails, completely, from your marketing company. There is nothing more irritating than sending a client an email with information and then having the client email 3-4 times asking for and/or about information that was already sent in a previous email.
One thing to keep in mind, if you are consistently late providing the data needed to complete a project you will almost certainly be put on the back burner behind new clients that have their information ready.4). Don’t Be an Email or Texting Bully.
There are those that think they are big and bad when they are writing emails and texts. They say rude and insulting things because they are agitated at the moment, but when meeting in person they never have the “you know whats” to tell anyone off. This type of behavior is unprofessional and kills a relationship. Before you go off on your vendor consider all you have to lose if you that vendor walks away.5). Don’t Expect Hand-Holding & Unlimited Time
We get paid by the hour typically and we know what we need to make to keep the bills paid. So for example, if you are paying for 5 hours of my time in a week I will have other clients taking up the other 35 hours. This is done to ensure I make a proper living.
Paying for 5 hours of work time does not entitle you to 10 more hours of phone calls, emails and meetings. If you want that extra time you need to pay for it and not get upset when the person you are working with doesn’t give you all the extra time you want. Time is money, for you and for us.
If you need hand holding and extra time tell your consultant or company ahead of time and be prepared to pay for the time you need.6). Don’t Treat Your SEO or Web Marketing Person Like an Employee
Employees work for you. You can behave how you want, talk to them how you want and have unrealistic expectations with employees. When you are paying for a service that we offer you have no right to create expectations that were never discussed or agreed upon.
We also don’t have to reply to a phone call or email within an hour to please you because WE ARE NOT your employee. We work for ourselves and we have other clients, meetings and work to do. You may have to wait a few hours or even an entire day to hear back. Additionally, we do not need to answer the phone or emails when work hours are over. You are important, but you are not the only client…which brings me to my next point.7). Keep in Mind, You Are Not THE ONLY Client
As I said above, we have several clients. Everyone needs our time and we have a responsibility to each client. We cannot give you 100% of our time, respond to your calls in minutes and we cannot chase you around to get the information we need from you so projects are finished on schedule (this is not our job). Always keep in mind that you are not the only one and cannot expect to be treated as the only one (unless you pay for it).
Oh and in the wise words of my business partner, “Your emergency is not our emergency.” If your computer stops working or the web is loading slow for you this is not something we can fix for you and these are certainly not reasons to stop our work.8). Listen. Open Your Mind and Listen.
If we say something is wrong with your website design, layout or coding it is because there is something wrong. I usually tell people that if they don’t use my company I suggest they find someone to fix it because it isn’t about the money, but about what is best for the client’s business.
Information offered about SEO, Social Media, Content Marketing and other forms of online marketing is all for your best interest. There is nothing wrong with asking questions, but questioning integrity will offend and you could possibly lose the one truly talented person that can do this work in your area.
Just try to listen.9). Don’t Burn Bridges.
I have had 5 clients who have ticked me off to no end and I have walked away. Four of those clients have come back and requested (some begged) for my work and I refuse to work with them. Once I am burned it is over. I prefer clients that appreciate what I offer and are smart enough to care about the business relationship. I deserve to be treated like a professional and a human.10). Don’t Expect Advice for Free. 11). Don’t Ask Your Friends What They Think About What We Are Doing.
I actually had one client say that he wasn’t going to be happy with his website until everyone that was sitting at Starbucks with him said they liked it too. OK moron, are the people in Starbucks your target audience? I think not.
All of our plans whether it is PPC, SEO, Social Media or a website design are aimed at meeting the needs of your target markets and beating your competitors. Your “friends” most likely won’t be looking at things like we do. If you don’t like something please tell us, but leave your friends out of it please.12). Remember, Nerds and Geeks are Smart.
I know when people think of geeks and nerds they think of people like Bill Gates, Sheldon Cooper and George Lucas. What do these three people have in common? They are super smart.
If you hired the right company or consultant I can almost guarantee you that the person you are looking at is extremely smart. Have some faith and remember the following items I mentioned above:
Don’t Be Condescending
Because they are very smart they pick up on things (behaviors) most people don’t, so make sure you treat them right. Remember, we analyze (and it isn’t just data). Don’t take a chance on burning a bridge with someone that can help your business reach new and better levels. If members of your staff are intimidated by people that know more than them about any subject you may want to consider excluding them from interactions with your web marketing specialists. In Conclusion
If you are lucky enough to find a consultant or company that has the skills you need please find a way to cherish the quality work they offer and cherish the people themselves. Fact – there are A LOT of people out there offering the services we offer and they have no clue what they are doing. When you find someone good you want to make sure you always have the opportunity to work with them in the future.
Respect is key.
We yesterday summarized everything Apple announced in the WWDC 2023 keynote, which covered iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8, iCloud+, and more.
Reactions have been mixed, with some suggesting that the event wasn’t as exciting as it could have been, while others have expressed the view that Apple has introduced a solid set of new features that will add up to a significantly better experience …
It’s time to see what you think, with our poll on the main features highlighted by Apple.FaceTime improvements
FaceTime got a lot of love: a new grid view, spatial audio to help, portrait mode for blurred backgrounds, SharePlay, and browser support to allow Android and Windows users to join calls for the first time.Focus
iOS 15 lets you filter notifications, let contacts know when you are unavailable, and have different modes like home and work to control what you see when.Maps
Apple Maps gets more detailed 3D mapping in cities, more detailed transit directions (including a cool AR feature to show which way to go when exiting a station), better lane directions when driving, and more.Weather
The Weather app gets a refreshed design, with layout and look changing to match the current weather. There are also notifications for incoming weather, like rain.Find my iPhone improvements
In iOS 15, you can find your iPhone when it’s switched off, and even if someone has reset it (provided Activation Lock is on). Effectively, it becomes an AirTag when powered down.iPad widgets
iPadOS 15 brings free placement of widgets on the home screen, instead of being limited to the sidebar.iPad multitasking enhancements
Apple stopped short of allowing Mac-style windows for iPad apps (though Notes does get one!), but multi-tasking does get easier to use and a little more sophisticated.Swift Playgrounds on iPad
We didn’t get Xcode for the iPad, but you’ll now be able to use Swift Playgrounds to create iPhone and iPad apps on the iPad and submit them to the App Store.Shortcuts on the Mac
macOS Monterey brings Shortcuts to the Mac, including the ability to import existing Automator automations.Testflight on the Mac
TestFlight was also brought to the Mac, offering a more convenient way to let developers offer app betas to users.Universal Control
Universal Control provides a powerful new way to simultaneously use a Mac and iPad, with cursor control moving seamlessly between devices, and the ability to easily drag and drop content between them. You can do the same thing with two Macs.Safari redesign, with Tab Groups
The Safari announcements struck me as a mixed bag, giving a cleaner look at the expense of making some things less accessible – but Tab Groups might be the headline feature, also syncing between devices.watchOS improvements
A mosaic photo layout on a Watch screen was… odd. But the new Portrait mode photo watch face is funky, and the always-on feature has been extended to Music, Maps, and Calculator. There’s also a new Mindfulness app.iCloud+
Finally, iCloud’s paid tiers got renamed to iCloud+, and got some some significant new privacy features. HomeKit Secure Video now supports unlimited cameras, without counting against your storage quota; Private Relay is a kind of VPN-on-steroids service (not even Apple can see which websites you visit); and Hide My Email gives you access to disposable email addresses.Which features do you most like?
You can choose your top three favorite features.

Binance’s [BNB] network has been subjected to relentless regulatory scrutiny in 2023, raising grave concerns about the survival of one of the largest crypto companies in the world. Several Binance executives reportedly exited the firm as the regulatory heat intensified.
Binance was sued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in early June for allegedly breaking federal securities laws.
Germany’s financial regulator has rejected Binance’s request for a crypto custody license. The exchange has withdrawn its request for regulatory approval in Austria. It has also given up its registration with regulatory bodies in the United Kingdom and Cyprus. The exchange has opted to quit the Netherlands after failing to register there. Belgium has also ordered the exchange to suspend its operations in the country. The French authorities are also reportedly investigating the exchange on “aggravated money laundering” charges.
TradingView data shows a surge in aggregated sell orders of about 125,000 BNB worth $37 million just before the U.S. SEC’s crackdown on the exchange. Speculations are rife around a possible case of insider trading.
In March, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) had filed a lawsuit accusing the exchange and its founder Changpeng Zhao “CZ” of violating local compliance rules to expand its business.
Earlier in February, Paxos, the issuer of the Binance branded stablecoin BUSD, was directed by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) to stop minting new tokens. The action, according to the regulator, was brought about by “several unresolved issues related to Paxos’ oversight of its relationship with Binance.”
According to data from research firm Kaiko, Binance’s spot trading market share stood at 55.9% in June 2023, hitting near a one-year low. The figure is nearly the same as the last two months. The lawsuit-induced FUD resulted in a radical shake-up of its exchange reserves with users withdrawing funds for self-custody.
The future course for Binance and its native token, Binance Coin (BNB), is shrouded in uncertainty. And, most of the investors and analysts in the space would be busy understanding the dynamics to make informed decisions going forward. We, at AMB Crypto, tried to get some help from an unlikely ally – ChatGPT
Read Price Prediction for Binance Coin (BNB) 2023-24ChatGPT — the AI sensation
Put simply, it functions like a conventional chatbot that we have encountered in the customer support section of different e-commerce companies. However, the big difference here is that communication is more conversational, or to put it in a different way, more human-like.
Well, this is because it is trained using reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF). This helps it understand instructions and generates nuanced responses.
But cryptos? Binance? Are we stretching the limits of ChatGPT? Let’s see. Will Binance move out of the U.S. market?
Binance is not new to compliance-related issues in the U.S. In 2023, it ceased to operate in the country and launched a separate exchange, chúng tôi its American arm.
The platform’s structure is quite similar to the fallen FTX in the sense that a major part of its administration is being controlled from outside the U.S. Hence, it has always been under the radar of the regulators.
We started to test our AI friend by posing this very sweeping, although controversial, question. Now, the ability of ChatGPT to express itself is hindered because of the restrictions imposed by the creators. To make it speak its mind, we used the “jailbreak” hack.
ChatGPT underlined the resilience of the crypto exchange in the face of a regulatory storm in the U.S. It predicted that Binance will explore every possible revenue to consolidate its position. The AI bot predicted that a complete withdrawal from the U.S. market is unlikely. On a growing number of hacks on BNB Chain, ChatGPT says…
Apart from regulatory concerns, the ecosystem’s blockchain, BNB Chain, has gained notoriety for the rising number of decentralized finance (DeFi) hacks of late. As per a report by ImmuneFi, a Web3 bug bounty platform, BNB Chain was the most targeted chain in Q1 2023 with 33 incidents of hacks and exploits.
Here again, we turn to our AI partner to know if hacks will be the undoing for Binance. This time, it seemed as if it was ready to respond to this question promptly.
Well, ChatGPT asks readers to take its word of caution seriously. To address the security loopholes, BNB Chain soon announced a hard fork which is scheduled to go live on 12 April.
Another thing that caught our attention was the use of BSC rather than BNB in the latest response. Now, it’s a known fact that Binance Chain and Binance Smart Chain are now collectively referred to as one entity – BNB Chain. This update took place in February 2023. However, ChatGPT continued to use BSC Chain.
This, because its knowledge cutoff date is September 2023, meaning that it will base its answers on the information available until this date only. Will Binance Coin survive the regulatory storm?
At press time, BNB was the third-largest cryptocurrency (excluding stablecoins) in the sector, with a market cap of more than $36 billion, per CoinMarketCap data. As a result, significant fluctuations in its value could create ripples in the broader crypto market.
BNB commenced a bullish cycle at the start of 2023, something that has helped it in gaining 27% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. However, recent hiccups have applied brakes to its momentum. Since the CFTC lawsuit, the coin has shed 23% of its value.
Although setting unrealistic expectations amidst this FUD is not the most sensible thing to do, we tried to put ChatGPT under a bit of pressure. We asked whether it sees BNB touching $350 in 2023, given the current state of uncertainty. And, it impressed again.
ChatGPT responded that, being a resilient coin, BNB can easily reach the lofty target of $350.
In a very measured way, it outlined factors like innovative spirit and community support which will propel the price of BNB. It also called attention to Binance’s strong DeFi ecosystem, which could support BNB’s price in the long run.
Enough of the AI praise! Needless to say, it isn’t practical to only depend on what an AI tool says in price predictions and markets. There is nothing like getting the insights of real-world experts. Therefore, we got in touch with Marius Grigoras, Chief Executive Officer at BHero and a crypto-expert, to help us out with the same question that we asked ChatGPT. He stated,
“While I cannot give a certain answer on whether BNB will reach $350 in 2023, we must consider the general market dynamics. It’s evident that the recent regulatory crackdown has taken its toll on the entire crypto market, including BNB. But despite some fluctuations in price which may occur in the short term, I believe BNB possesses the resilience to rebound even stronger in the long haul.”

Binance Coin continues to bleed out since the U.S. SEC filed a lawsuit in early June. At press time, BNB was trading at $233, reflecting a slight drop of 2%. The price of BNB has dipped 23% since the SEC’s enforcement action.
This is obviously not a good time for the token. BNB’s plunge has hit June/December 2023 lows. The coin tanked to $220 during the December 2023 FUD around Binance’s proof of reserves.
Both BNB’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Money Flow Index (MFI) rested below the neutral 50-mark. Its On Balance Volume (OBV) also showed a continuous decline. Conclusion
BNB’s Open Interest (OI) or the total dollar value locked in unsettled contracts on Futures exchanges was $401 million. The same saw a substantial rise of 12% over the last 24 hours, as per Coinglass.
The funding rates across most exchanges seemed to be in red, indicating the dominance of bearish traders.
Additionally, traders positioning themselves for price gains increased vis-à-vis those looking for price losses, as the Longs/Shorts Ratio hiked to 1.03.
It’s critical to underline that these indicators fluctuate on a daily basis and might quickly take a wild swing. It is difficult to predict BNB’s price action though ChatGPT is confident that the exchange will come out of it fine.
