Important stuff from this week Palera1n jailbreak works on iOS 16.5

Apple on Thursday released iOS & iPadOS 16.5 and iOS & iPadOS 15.7.6 to the general public for compatible devices respectively, adding several security patches and new features.

You can find out more about this in our full news post.

ElleKit v1.0 released

ElleKit, the primary means of tweak injection on the rootless Dopamine jailbreak for arm64e devices (A12-A15) running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1, was updated to version 1.0 this week.

The update was reported to fix all know bugs, making it the most stable release for users to date, which is why it’s strongly recommended that all Dopamine users go ahead and install this update.

You can find out more about this update in our full news post.

How to remove the Dopamine jailbreak

If you’ve decided that you want to remove the Dopamine jailbreak from your A12-A15 device running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1, then we walk you through those steps in our step-by-step tutorial.

Apple releases iOS 16.5 & 15.7.6

Apple on Thursday released new firmware for the iPhone and iPad, which included iOS & iPadOS 16.5 for newer devices and iOS & iPadOS 15.7.6 for older devices that can’t run iOS or iPadOS 16.

While the newer of the two firmware updates included new features, such as Pride-centric wallpapers, Sports tab in the News app, launch with Siri screen, and more, both the iOS & iPadOS 16 and iOS & iPadOS 15 updates included important security patches.

You can find out more about what’s new in iOS & iPadOS 16.5 in our full news post.

Palera1n’s brief server trouble

The palera1n team’s web hosting server trial expired last weekend, causing issues for users trying to use the jailbreak’s bootstrap or repository services.

Fortunately, the palera1n team was able to get everything back up and running within 24 hours, allowing people to go about their business once more.

You can learn more about the issue in our full news post.

kok3shi9 & kok3shiX become EOL

The developer behind the kok3shi9 & kok3shiX jailbreaks for iOS 9 and iOS 10 officially designated these projects as being end of life (EOL).

This means that neither tool will receive any further updates as alternative tools exist. The developer will instead focus primarily on supporting the palera1n team.

You can learn more about this change in our full news post.

Cowabunga Lite released

Cowabunga Lite is a new system customization app for macOS that can be used to customize your non-jailbroken iPhone or iPad in various ways.

You can learn more about the different kinds of things that Cowabunga Lite lets you do in our full review post.

AlbumManager ultimate Photos app tweak

Just this week, we showed you an incredible jailbreak tweak for taking your Photos app to the next level called AlbumManager.

This tweak not only lets you actually move images and video from one album to another instead of only copying them, but also provides locking and security features for all your albums.

You can learn more about AlbumManager and what makes it so great in our full review post.

MilkyWay 4 gets rootless support

The MilkyWay 4 jailbreak tweak received rootless support this past week, enabling iPhone and iPad users on an iOS 15.x jailbreak such as Dopamine or palera1n to make full use of it.

For those who don’t know, MilkyWay 4 brings true desktop-class windowed multitasking to any device it’s installed on. It’s activated with a tap-and-hold from the App Switcher.

You can learn more about MilkyWay 4-rootless and how it works in our full review post.

SimpleTime tweak

If you want more control over how your Lock Screen looks and feels, then be sure to check out SimpleTime.

Not only can you use SimpleTime to make your jailbroken iOS 12-15 device have a Lock Screen that looks more like an iOS 16 Lock Screen, but you could go completely custom if you so choose.

You can learn more about SimpleTime and how it works in our full review post.

Tappy gets rootless support

The popular Tappy jailbreak tweak that could change the Status Bar’s time indicator into a date indicator was updated this past week with support for rootless jailbreaks.

This update also meant that the package was being made available via an official repository and that it became open source.

You can learn more about the Tappy-related news in our full news post.

You might want to add a splash of character to your jailbroken or non-jailbroken handset’s Home Screen, and if this sounds like you, then Muze 4 is a fantastic theme to check out.

Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Autodynamicwallpaper, Glyphalert, Networkmanager, And More

If you have a jailbroken handset in your possession and you’re wondering how you can augment its features and functionality, then you’ve come to the right place.

In this roundup, we’ll recap all the newest jailbreak tweak releases from Monday, July 8th to Sunday, July 14th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing our favorite releases first, and we’ll outline the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week AutoDynamicWallpaper – $2.99

Live Photos are a great feature of iOS, but if you’ve ever set one as your wallpaper before, then you might’ve been less than impressed by Apple’s native implementation.

AutoDynamicWallpaper attempts to improve this experience by forcing all Live Photo-centric wallpapers to play automatically when you wake your device or receive a push notification. The tweak can be configured based on your battery impact preference.

You can learn more about AutoDynamicWallpaper and how it works in our full review.

GlyphAlert – $2.00

iOS’ native notification system has been somewhat stagnant for the last several years, but with a newly-released jailbreak tweak called GlyphAlert, you can make them fun and exciting again.

GlyphAlert displays user-configurable glyphs on a pitch-black screen when you receive a notification from one of your apps. You can assign custom glyphs to specific apps, configure their color and behavior, and much more.

You can learn more about GlyphAlert and why it’s an upgrade over the stock notification system experience in our full review.

NetworkManager – $1.49

Your iPhone moves from one cellular radio to the next as you move out of range of certain cellular towers, and sometimes, it drops to a less-preferred cellular radio based on signal strength, including 2G or 3G instead of 4G LTE.

If you find that your iPhone’s data connection gets too slow at times because of the instance mentioned above, then you might enjoy a new jailbreak tweak called NetworkManager, as it can help lock your handset to a specific cellular radio, regardless of signal strength.

You can learn more about NetworkManager in our full review.

Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Gorgone, Horseshoe, Tweetmuter, & More…

Another week has passed, and it was perhaps one of the most historical weeks of the year, as the Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10.0-10.2 has reached its peak point in its beta stages where its developer Luca Todesco has deemed it stable enough to be used by the populous.

That said, this week brought with it some pretty interesting jailbreak tweak releases, many of which are made specifically for iOS 10, so we’ll talk about those in this roundup, starting with our favorite and then moving onto the rest afterwards.

Our favorite releases this week

Horseshoe – $1.99

Horseshoe is an incredible new release for iOS 10 specifically that allows you to consolidate all of those pages in Control Center into a single page.

It does so by eliminating some of the free space and condensing all of the spread-out buttons that are normally taking up more space than they need to. It even combines the brightness and volume sliders into one, saving space on that front as well. The newly redesigned Music interface is just as pleasant.

What’s nice is the redesigned Control Center doesn’t give up any of the functionality that was originally in Control Center, so overall it’s a nicer-looking aesthetic.

You can read our full review of Horseshoe to learn more about how it works and how to get it.

Gorgone – FREE

Gorgone is an incredible tweak for iOS 9 and iOS 10 that unlocks the Slide Over and Split View interfaces on unsupported devices.

Gorgone enables it, letting you multitask on your device in any way you’d like to, and it even enables Home screen rotation on unsupported devices as a bonus.

To learn more about Gorgone and how it works, check out our full review.

TweetMuter – FREE

TweetMuter is a new free jailbreak tweak that finally gives you the ability to block unwanted crap from your Twitter feed. Best of all, it utilizes the stock filtering feature that you would usually use to filter your Notifications tab.

This is the first tweak for keeping people’s political agendas out of your timeline, and it also lets you keep other things out of your timeline as well, depending on whatever you feel like hiding.

To use the tweak, you just select keywords that you want to use as red flags, and then anything that would normally appear in your Twitter feed with those words will then be hidden, from then on.

You can read our full review of TweetMuter to see how it works, as well as where to get it.

SMSmileys: Lets you send Emojis with special face characters (free)

Wormhole: Adds customizable 3D Touch menus to the Control Center toggle buttons (free – review)

While that wraps it up for this week, we expect things will ramp up a little bit more now that the jailbreak is ‘as stable as it’ll get.’ We assume Saurik will soon be bringing Cydia for iOS 10 out of beta and enabling purchases on iOS 10, although there’s currently no ETA for when that might happen.

To see more jailbreak tweaks, stay tuned to iDB in the coming weeks and be sure to check back at last week’s jailbreak tweak roundup to ensure that you haven’t missed anything important.
