Did you notice some weird string of characters added to all your emails in your Outlook inbox? Yes, Outlook is adding a string of characters at the beginning of all URLs present in your emails. The URL may look suspicious with these characters, but they are actually added by Microsoft. The string includes text before the original URL and it looks something like this-
You will be able to see it only if Microsoft has activated this feature for your email account. Some users might get it late based on their subscription or the region.
Safelinks Protection OutlookThis is nothing suspicious or worrisome. There is no problem with your email client of the web app. This is a new feature of Office 365 subscription and chúng tôi accounts which aim to make your email accounts more secure.
Safe Links feature is a part of “Advanced Threat Protection” and it is a part of malware and spam filtering in your emails. This feature is launched to check if there is any phishing link in any of your emails or whether any of your emails bring viruses or Trojans onto your PC. So relax, it’s just a security feature launched by Microsoft to give your emails additional security.
The safelinks.protection.outlook string and the link might be different and longer in some of your emails, but there is nothing to worry about. If Outlook finds any phishing link or suspicious in your emails, it won’t let the link open, and your PC will be safe from any kind of malware and virus attack via emails. There will be a warning message displayed to the user that the link is unsafe and might contain a virus.
Does this Safe Link feature create any problem? No, it doesn’t. Yes, the URLs might look weird, long and ugly but other than that, the Safe Links feature won’t cause you any problem or trouble. The string of characters added to your email makes it difficult to understand and identify the email address or the URL, but then again it is for better security of your Outlook inbox.
How do I disable this Safelinks feature? The feature, however, won’t cause you any issue or trouble, and Microsoft doesn’t recommend deactivating this feature- but some users still might want to disable it because of the ugly, longer and unidentifiable URLs.
This is a security feature and is launched to protect your PC from phishing attacks and unwanted malware. Thus you won’t get any direct option to disable the feature.
Still, if you want to disable or deactivate this feature, you have to contact chúng tôi support for the same. You cannot disable the feature on your own. There is a particular official procedure to disable this feature, and only the support team can do that.
If you want to contact the support system to deactivate this feature from your Microsoft accounts, follow these steps-
Go to the chúng tôi Help page from the Help icon displayed on the top-right corner of your page.
This will open a message box where you can type your request to disable the Safe Links feature for the required email aliases by using their suggested wording:
Please disable Safe Links for the following email aliases; [alias_1], [alias_2]…You can add various email addresses by using a comma.

What Is Nvidia Reflex And Should You Enable It?
Nvidia Reflex is a service available to all users of Nvidia graphics cards, but it shines most when paired between an Nvidia 3000 series card and a G-Sync monitor. If you’re trying to give yourself just that little bit extra edge in competitive games, Nvidia Reflex should be on your radar.
Table of Contents
What Is Nvidia Reflex?Nvidia Reflex is a low latency tool that claims to lower rendering lag by as much as 80%. It’s most effective in first-person shooters like Fortnite or Call of Duty, where smoother controls and more responsive gameplay make a dramatic difference. It can also make a difference if you’re playing competitive fighting games online, such as Guilty Gear Strive.
Nvidia Reflex works by optimizing both the GPU and the game itself, combining the settings of both to provide you optimal performance. Note that this doesn’t mean the highest possible graphics. While Nvidia has tools to help you squeeze out the best frame rates, Reflex works to reduce your latency to the point that it’s nearly undetectable.
Games operate with what is called a render queue. This is a bit of programming that tells the game which objects need to be rendered first. In competitive games, the cursor doesn’t always take priority – but you need your crosshairs to move smoothly across the screen. Combined with low input lag and a high refresh rate, smooth rendering of crosshairs means you can pull off pinpoint shots.
Nvidia Reflex RequirementsHowever, if you don’t have the budget to grab higher-end components at the moment (and who does, given the sky-high prices of PC parts?), your existing system will still perform just that much better with Reflex enabled than not.
These are the only requirements you need:
Nvidia GTX 900 series or higher
A game that works with Reflex
With that in mind, if you have a high-end gaming setup, Nvidia Reflex – combined with a high refresh rate monitor – can lead to marked improvements in how games look. There is a difference in quality between 30 frames per second and 120 frames per second. If your computer is capable of rendering more FPS, consider investing in a monitor to match.
Unfortunately, Nvidia Reflex won’t work with AMD GPUs. AMD users aren’t without options, though. Turning on FreeSync within your monitor settings can yield improved performance.
Should You Enable Nvidia Reflex?Yes.
Take the time to turn on Nvidia Reflex if your GPU and the game supports it. You can’t really go wrong with it. Even if you don’t play competitively, no one enjoys when a game isn’t responding as it should. Reflex improves overall system performance.
What Games Work With Reflex? This list is not comprehensive, but it does give you an idea of the most popular current titles that can work with Nvidia Reflex.
Apex Legends
Battlefield 2042
Bright Memory Infinite
CoD: Black Ops Cold War
CoD: Modern Warfare
CoD: Warzone
CoD: Vanguard
CrossFire HD
CRSED F.O.A.D
Deathloo
Destiny 2
Enlisted
Escape From Tarkov
Forged In Shadow Torch
Fortnite
Mordhau
Overwatch
Rainbow Six: Siege
Rust
Splitgate
Valorant
Warface
War Thunder
How to Enable Nvidia ReflexYou enable Nvidia Reflex on a game-by-game basis, usually through the game’s graphical settings. While each title is different, you can typically turn on the setting through the options menu.
For example, Fortnite makes it easy to enable Nvidia Reflex.
Launch Fortnite.
Select the three bars in the top-right corner and then select the gear icon on the left side.
Select Settings and scroll down to the Advanced Graphics subheading.
Switch Nvidia Reflex Low Latency to On + Boost and then press A to apply.
If you can’t turn on Nvidia Reflex in-game, there are other things you can do to reduce latency.
Increase Your Mouse’ Polling RateThe polling rate is the frequency with which your system requests information from a device. A higher polling rate means less latency and more responsiveness. However, it can result in less battery life with a wireless mouse versus a wired mouse.
You can also invest in a wired mouse to reduce latency and reduce the chance of signal interference from other devices. A compatible gaming mouse plays almost as large a role in your gameplay and performance as your graphical settings.
Turn On Ultra Low Latency ModeThere is an option within your Nvidia driver that allows you to enable low latency mode.
Open Nvidia Control Panel.
Select Low Latency Mode and select Ultra from the drop-down box.
Select Apply.
If you are experiencing latency in games, try turning on Low Latency Mode and enabling Nvidia Reflex whenever possible. Your gaming experience will be better and more fluid, and you might even perform better in the game than you usually do.

How To Disable Fast Startup In Windows 11/10 (And Why You Should)
Did you know that a Windows 10 or 11 shutdown doesn’t really shut down your computer? That’s because of Fast Startup. Read on to learn about Fast Startup and how to disable it in Microsoft Windows.
Fast Startup, as its name implies, is a built-in Windows functionality that allows your computer to boot faster from a cold shutdown. That sounds like a good thing, right? Not always. We’ll explain what Fast Startup is and why you might want to disable it in Windows 10 or 11.
Table of Contents
What Is the Fast Startup Feature? Before you get to know how Fast Startup works, it’s a good idea to understand what the “kernel” is in Windows.
When you turn off your PC, Windows closes all open apps and programs, signs you out of your user account, and powers down the operating system. At least, that’s what you think, right?
Starting Windows 8, however, a shutdown doesn’t shut everything down in the traditional sense. Instead, it caches the kernel to the chúng tôi (a.k.a. the hibernation file).
Since the kernel is what makes everything tick, having it in a state that makes it ready to go at a moment’s notice allows your computer to boot up faster when you initiate a cold start.
Why You Should Disable Fast StartupFor starters, repeatedly loading the same kernel session increases the chances of creating mismatches between actual and cached software components, especially after system or driver updates.
That could lead to BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) and other startup errors or prevent hardware peripherals from working correctly. Fast Startup also tends to cause problems while finalizing Windows updates.
Furthermore, if your computer is in a dual or multi-boot configuration (e.g., Windows and Linux), Fast Startup is known to lock access to the Windows drive when booting into a non-Windows operating system.
Even worse, making changes to partitions from one operating system might lead to corruption issues when switching over to another.
Suppose you believe that Fast Startup is the reason behind a particular problem (or you want to avoid a potential conflict because of it); you can temporarily stop Windows from caching the kernel during a shutdown.
Here are a couple of methods to help you with that:
Perform a regular shutdown while holding down the
Shift
key.
Select
Restart
instead of
Shut down
to prompt the operating system to shut down and reboot automatically. This can come as a surprise, but an automatic restart skips Fast Startup, while a “full shutdown” does not.
How to Disable Fast Startup in WindowsAlthough it’s easy to bypass Fast Startup and clear the kernel cache, you may want to consider disabling Fast Startup altogether if your computer keeps running into issues constantly or you have multiple operating systems installed.
Disable Fast Boot via the Control PanelOpen the
Start menu
, type
Control Panel
, and select
Open
.
Select the
Hardware and Sound
category.
Select
Choose what the
power buttons
do
under the
Power Options
section.
Select
Change settings that are currently unavailable
.
Uncheck the box next to the
Turn on fast startup (recommended)
boot option.
Select
Save changes
.
If you don’t see the Fast Startup option, the Hibernation power setting is likely disabled on your computer. Run the command below in an elevated Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt console to activate it:
Type the following command:
powercfg /hibernate on
Press
Enter
.
You can now disable Fast Startup via the Control Panel.
Disable Fast Boot via the Registry EditorAnother—albeit less convenient—method to disable Fast Startup is to perform the following tweak via the Registry Editor. It’s best to back up the system registry before you begin.
Press
Windows
+
R
, type
regedit
, and select
OK
.
Copy the following path into the address bar at the top of the Registry Editor window and press
Enter
:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerPower
Enter
0
into the
Value data
field and select
OK
.
Exit the Registry Editor.
Shut down and restart your computer.
Disable Fast Boot via the Local Group Policy EditorIf your PC runs the Profesional, Enterprise, or Education editions of Windows 10 or 11, you can use the Local Group Policy Editor to disable Fast Startup.
Open a Run box, type
gpedit.msc
, and select
OK
.
Navigate to the following location on the Local Group Policy Editor sidebar:
Select the radio button next to
Disabled
.
Select
Apply
and
OK
.
Fast Startup: Keep It or Disable ItUnless you use a fairly old PC with a mechanical HDD or just the bare minimum CPU or RAM needed to run Windows 11 or 10, you probably won’t see a significant performance increase to the boot time with Fast Startup enabled.
However, there’s little reason to disable Fast Startup permanently unless you encounter persistent issues, have trouble installing updates, or use more than a single operating system. Don’t forget that you can easily bypass the feature whenever you want.
Outlook Email Remains Unread Even After You Have Read It
When reading an email in Microsoft Outlook, if you notice that the email remains unread even after you have read it, then you are not alone. The default behavior is such that keeps then read even when you select an item to read the message in Microsoft Outlook. In this post, we will share how you can mark those emails as read or select an item to read message in Microsoft Outlook.
Outlook email remains unread even after I have read it Select an item to read the message in Microsoft OutlookAll email client from Microsoft look similar and come with the reading pane. Here are configurations for below-mentioned clients if they dont get marked as read when you select an email.
Microsoft Outlook Client
Outlook Web
Mail & Calendar App
I am sure Microsoft Exchange 2023/13/10 all have similar options. You can find it under options where all settings related to the mail client is available.
1] Microsoft Outlook ClientIt is the Office 365 Mail Client.
In the Outlook Options window that opens, switch to Mail section from the left pane.
Check the box which says — Mark items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane.
It will make Outlook mark email as read as you select the email, and view them in the Reading Pane. In the same place, you can set a timer for the box to be marked as read. Many a time you want to get a glimpse of the email, but want to keep it unread to look back later. The Wait option delivers the same.
There is another checkbox option — Mark Item as read when selection changes. Its checked by default, but it also marks a message as read when you select it. Uncheck to change behavior.
You can also configure Outlook to Always preview messages.
Do note that either of these options will remain checked. When you check Mark Item as read when selection changes., then it will uncheck the Mark item as read when selection changes box automatically.
How to mark several messages read in Outlook 2] Outlook WebOutlook Web offers Pane view as well and comes with similar settings. If your emails are not marked as read as you switch between emails or when you select it, here is what you need to do.
Then switch to Message handling, and choose how you want the emails to be marked as read:
When they are selected
After a few seconds
When selection changes
Keep them unread.
If it is not changing for you, the option was previously set to keep them unread.
3] Mail & Calendar AppIf you are using the Mail and Calendar App in Windows 10, then it comes with similar settings as above clients.
Select Reading Pane, and change options for Mark item as read.
While these options might sound annoying, the primary idea is that manually mark it as read. That way, you will never miss an email. I usually mark emails as unread after reading them, and there are many such emails. In my case the option is useful.
We hope the steps were easy to follow, and you were able to select an item to read the message in Microsoft Outlook.

One of your team has a meltdown on social
Brand vulnerabilityIn this age of social media, you can’t avoid having your brand online; but it opens it up to attack. You need to secure your brand’s future potential as a revenue hero and remember… it’s not just about protecting your brand, it’s about promoting it.

Protect, measure, promoteDon’t for one moment fall into the trap of thinking that brand protection is the be-all and end-all. It’s not enough to safeguard your brand name, it’s about protecting its future earning potential. My strategy covers:
Registering multiple domain names to promote your brand globally and protect from fraudsters
Protecting your brand’s integrity with trademarks, copyright, and IP protection
Listening to consumer mentions and engaging – to the good and the bad
Ensuring your share of voice is the loudest in the industry
Protect your brand Trademark your brand name or lose itGiorgio Armani, big Italian fashion house. You’ve heard of it… But, have you heard of Girgio Armwni?
Trademark your brand, products, logo, tagline, so they remain unique to you. If these brand assets are abused by competitors, fraudsters, etc., your brand value will be diluted and your reputation damaged, maybe irreparably.
Protect against IP violationHow much time was spent creating the content on your website? How would you feel if you saw it on another site? Sign up for Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Protection and Takedown Services. These are the guys in charge of copyright infringement takedowns.

Alerts for crisis managementUse Talkwalker Alerts to create notifications for keywords like – breached, hacked, outage, scam, fraud, etc. To catch counterfeiters and fat-fingered typists, create alerts for misspelling of your brand and products.
Measure your brand Which social channels? Listen and learnUse social listening so you can hear what consumers are saying about you, your competitors, and your industry. Ignoring these voices means you won’t hear feedback on your products, you’ll miss user-generated content that could be used in your marketing campaigns, and you won’t know what the competition is doing.
Promote your brand Multiple domain namesYour domain name is your online identity. Your virtual business card. It protects and promotes your brand. Lose it, and you’re…
Register your product names and redirect to your main site
Register country code domain names to market globally
Grab misspellings of your brand.
Authentic brand storyThis is what you stand for. Your brand values. Your story. What you believe in. It persuades consumers to stick with you. But, you can’t fake it. You must be credible, or you’ll damage your reputation and lose customer trust.
Your team can be your best brand ambassadors. They can be your biggest critics, if not handled well.
Consumers are numb to marketing messages, ignoring brands shouting about how good they are. But, influencers, peers, family, friends – they’ll listen.
Motivate your team to talk positively about your brand on their social channels
Encourage them to post reviews and share your marketing posts
Social media policyYou’ll need some rules. Best practices.
You don’t want to clip their wings, but you have to establish ground rules to protect your brand’s reputation. Don’t go over the top, keep it short and simple. Key points could include:
Respect confidentiality
No inappropriate or offensive content
Always be thoughtful and polite
