When you’re out and about and don’t have access to Wi-Fi, your only option to go online is via your phone’s cellular data. Sometimes, even cellular data stops working, and you’re completely disconnected from the internet.
There are many reasons your Android phone’s cellular data doesn’t work. Your phone may be experiencing a software issue, your carrier has an internet connection problem, or your network settings aren’t proper.
Table of Contents
Regardless, you have various ways to fix the issue and get back online.Toggle Airplane Mode on Your Android Phone
When you lose access to mobile data, the first thing to do is enable and disable airplane mode on your phone. Doing so first disconnects you from all your connections, including your carrier, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and then re-establishes all those connections.
This is a perfect way to fix most minor mobile network glitches.
Pull down from the top of your phone’s screen and tap Airplane mode.
Wait for about ten seconds.
Turn airplane mode off by tapping the Airplane mode tile.Turn Off Wi-Fi on Your Phone
When you experience issues with your phone’s cellular data, it’s worth turning off your Wi-Fi connection to see if that fixes the issue. Both Wi-Fi and mobile data usually work well together, but there are times when they don’t.
Pull down from the top of your phone’s screen.
Tap the Wi-Fi icon to disable Wi-Fi on your phone.
Your phone will now try to connect you to the internet via cellular data.Disable and Enable Mobile Data Mode
If your cellular data issue still persists, it’s worth toggling your phone’s mobile data option to see if that makes any difference. Your phone’s settings menu has an option to manually enable and disable cellular data usage.
You can turn that option off and then back on to get your phone to re-establish a data connection.
Open Settings on your Android phone.
Choose Wi-Fi & Network followed by SIM & Network in Settings.
Disable the Mobile data option.
Wait for about ten seconds.
Enable the Mobile data option and wait for your phone to connect to the internet.Make Sure Your SIM Card Is Properly Inserted
Having an improperly inserted SIM card can cause your phone not to receive data signals. This happens because your phone can’t read the data correctly from your SIM card, causing network instability issues.
You can fix that by removing your phone’s SIM card and putting the SIM card back correctly. Start by pulling the SIM card tray out of your phone. Remove the SIM card from the tray, reinsert the card properly, and push the tray back into the phone.
Your Android device will connect to your carrier within a few seconds, and your issue should likely be resolved.Check the Data Limit/Data Plan of Your Carrier
Many carriers around the world limit the amount of data you can use with your particular data plan. If you’ve exceeded your plan’s data limit, that may be why you can’t use cellular data on your Android phone.
One way to verify that is to contact your carrier and check your data usage. Another way is to use your carrier’s Android app and check the data usage for yourself.
If your carrier’s data limit is why you can’t access the internet, you can either upgrade your data plan or top up the current plan with more data to continue to use the internet. It depends on your carrier what options you have.Change Your Preferred Network Type
Many cellular carriers don’t offer the same network type in all the regions their services are offered. For example, you may have 4G access with a network provider in the US, but the same provider may only have 3G available in other parts of the world.
Therefore, you should change your phone’s preferred network type to the one offered in your current region. You can do this from your phone’s settings menu.
Select an alternative network type in the menu.
Wait for your phone to reconnect to your carrier.Reset Network Settings on Your Android Phone
Your Android phone saves your network settings to help you connect to your networks using your preferred way. Improperly configured network settings can cause various issues, including limiting your access to cellular data.
If you aren’t sure you’ve changed your network settings, you can reset your settings to the factory defaults to fix them all at once. You can reconfigure the settings once they’re factory reset.
Access Settings on your phone.
Scroll down to the bottom and tap System followed by Reset options.
Choose Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
Tap Reset settings to bring your network settings to factory defaults.Perform a Software Update on Your Phone
An outdated Android version is usually the culprit of many phone problems, including mobile data issues. If your phone runs an old version of Android, it’s high time you update it to the most recent version available for your particular device.
You can update your Android version for free, but you’ll need access to a Wi-Fi network to download the software update.
Launch Settings on your phone.
Tap System followed by System updates.
Let your phone check for and install the available updates.
Restart your phone when the updates are installed.Resolve Mobile Data Issues and Get Back Online on Your Android Phone
What to know
To use Image Weights, ensure you’re using Midjourney version 3 or 5, and change your version using the /settings prompt.
Only use image weight values within the specified range for your Midjourney version, and include them at the end of the prompt as –iw (value).
Double-check for typos in your prompt and remember, only one image weight argument is allowed, even if you have multiple images.
Midjourney’s customization parameters are truly game-changing. Through them, you can tell the AI which sections of the prompt should be given more importance than others so the generated images are closer to what you imagine.
But sometimes, you will find that these weighted prompts don’t actually do anything. This is quite often the case with image weights. But it is nothing that can’t be easily fixed. Here is everything you need to know to fix Image Weight parameters on Midjourney if they are not working.
Reasons why Image Weight may not be working
There are a few reasons why you may not see your Image Weight (--iw) argument yielding any results for your generated images.
Everything from the Midjourney version you’re using to the image weight value that you’ve entered will determine whether your generated image benefits from the image weight parameter, or indeed if it even gets registered. Your image weight argument in the prompt also needs to be typed correctly, or you will end up receiving an error message from Midjourney’s Discord server.

How to fix Midjourney Image Weight not working issue
Let’s take a look at the fixes that will help you get around the problems encountered while entering image weight parameters.
FIX 1: Ensure correct prompt argument
Before anything else, make sure that the image weight argument that you’ve inputted is correct. Image weight arguments go in the following format:
Here, (value) is the image weight that you want to give to your images relative to the text prompt. Image weight parameters should also come at the very end of the whole prompt, like any other parameter. A prompt example with the image weight parameter will look something like this:
If your prompt doesn’t follow this Image-Text-Parameter structure, you will have problems getting Midjourney to understand the arguments.

FIX 2: Keep your Image Weight values within range
The range of Image Weight values that you can use differs depending on the Midjourney version you’re using. For instance, in Midjourney V3, you can use any integer as your image weight value between -10,000 to 10,000, but not fractions or decimals.
On the other hand, in Midjourney V5, your range is limited from 0.5 to 2. But you can use fractions or decimals which open up a range of options available to you as your image weight values.

FIX 3: Check your Midjourney Version
Not all Midjourney versions have the option to add image weights. Though V3 and V5 allow image weights in the prompt, V4 doesn’t. In Midjourney’s V4, all images are given the same default weight value of 1 relative to the text prompt. A good workaround for this in Midjourney V4 is to alter the importance of the text prompt relative to the image by adding weight to the text prompt.
But if you want to specifically add image weight to the prompt, change the Midjourney version that you’re using to either V3 or V5. You can check your Midjourney version by typing /settings in the message field and hitting Enter.
In the settings message, you’ll be able to check your Midjourney version and also change to either V3 or V5 for image weight prompts.

FIX 4: Use a single image for the prompt
This is technically not a fix, but instead a general prompt recommendation. Although Midjourney lets you upload two images in your prompt, you can only enter one image weight argument. The same image weight argument will apply collectively to both images in relation to the text prompt.
If you want both images to have their own weights relative to the text prompt, you’re unfortunately out of luck. Multiple image weight arguments are not currently supported by Midjourney. The best thing to do is to use a single image in your prompt and add weight to it.
Of course, this will limit you when you have to use two images. In which case, do remain aware of the fact that the image weight you enter in your prompt will be applied to both images.

Let’s take a look at a few commonly asked queries about image weights in Midjourney.
What is the default image weight in Midjourney?
In Midjourney version 5, the default image weight is 1. In Version 3, the default image weight is 0.25.
Can you add image weight for multiple images in Midjourney?
Currently, image weights can only be added once. The same will be applied to any and all images that you have in your prompt in relation to the text prompt.
Does Midjourney V4 have image weight parameters?
No. Midjourney V4 doesn’t let you add the image weight parameter to your prompt. This means that the image in your prompt will have the same level of importance as the text (if you haven’t specified the weight for the text prompt).
Different Midjourney versions have slight differences when it comes to what you can do with the image weight parameters. We hope the troubleshooting tips given in this guide helped you in getting the image weights to work. Until next time!
Instagram is the dominant photo-sharing platform on the Internet and has become the sole social media site used by people who prefer to express themselves with pictures rather than words. But what do you do when Instagram goes down or the Instagram app keeps crashing? Here we show you the main reasons Instagram is not working and how you can fix it.1. Restart App, Phone, and Router
A good place to begin fixing the issues with Instagram not working is relaunching the Instagram app by removing it from the list of recent apps and launching it again.
Another important preliminary fix is to restart your Android phone or iPhone, which can sometimes be enough to make things right again.
Also, make sure you have a stable Internet connection. If you’re using Instagram on Wi-Fi, restart the router as well. You can also try switching to mobile data to see if the issue is with the Wi-Fi connection or vice versa.2. Is Instagram Down?
Next, you must check whether Instagram is down for everyone. A telltale sign of servers being down is when you get the “5xx” error or your Instagram feed doesn’t load.
You can use a third-party status checker, such as Down Detector, Is It Down Right Now?, or Outage Report. Enter the Instagram URL and it’ll let you know whether Instagram is down with messages like “Possible problems at Instagram” or “Problems at Instagram.”
Other places to check include Instagram’s Twitter handle. Look for any company posts and updates or search for Instagram on Twitter.
If Instagram is experiencing outages globally, there’s nothing much you can do except wait for its team to fix the site.
If the above solutions haven’t worked thus far to fix Instagram, it could be that you have not updated the Instagram app to the latest version on your device. Newer versions usually contain security patches and bug fixes along with new features.
To update the Instagram app on Android, open Google Play Store and search for Instagram. If you see an “Update” button next to Instagram, tap on it. Check out other methods of updating apps on Android.
Similarly, on iOS, open App Store and find Instagram. Hit the “Update” button next to it.
Once you’ve finished updating the app, try running Instagram again.4. Clear App Data and Cache (Android)
If the Instagram app isn’t working on your Android phone, try clearing the Instagram app data and cache as shown below.
Tap on the “See all apps” button.
Scroll down and find Instagram from the list of populated apps.
Depending on your Android device version, you may need to tap “Storage & cache” to access the “Clear data” and “Clear cache” settings.
Tap “Clear cache.” To clear the data, go through the same steps again, but this time, tap “Clear storage” instead.5. Offload Instagram App (iPhone)
If the Instagram app isn’t working on your iPhone, you must offload it. This process ensures that your Instagram data is retained on the phone when you delete the app, and it will be restored when you reinstall Instagram. It’s essentially a roundabout way of clearing the cache.
Scroll down until you find the Instagram app, tap it, then tap “Offload App.” Restart the iPhone. Go to the App Store, find Instagram, and install it again.6. Uninstall and Reinstall Instagram
If the Instagram app crash is caused by a bug, and clearing the cache or offloading the app didn’t help, you can fix the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the Instagram app.Reinstall Instagram on Android
Tap on “Uninstall.”
Go back to Google Play Store and reinstall the latest version of Instagram. Sign in again and see whether it works.Reinstall Instagram on iPhone
Open App Library on your iPhone and look for the Instagram app.
Touch and hold the Instagram app icon. Tap on “Delete App.”
Once deleted, restart your iPhone, then open App Store, search for Instagram and install it again.7. Reinstall an Older Version of Instagram (Android Only)
If you’ve noticed that your problems with Instagram have started since an app update, then you can try rolling the app back to a previous version. The best way to do this is through APK Mirror. Make sure to uninstall the Instagram app before you try the following steps.
On your phone browser, go to APK Mirror, then use the search icon at the top right corner to search for “instagram.”
Tap “Apps” and scroll down the list until you find “Instagram by Instagram,” then select it.
Scroll through the available Instagram versions until you find a version dated before your last update (avoiding the “alpha” or “beta” versions).
On the next page, scroll down to the “Download” section and pick the correct variant for the Android version you’re using, then tap the download icon next to it.8. Enable Permissions for Instagram
Instagram requires many app permissions to work properly on your iOS or Android phone: Camera, Contacts, Microphone, Photos, and Storage, to name a few. If permissions for even one or two of these are disabled, Instagram may not work properly, and the app may crash on your phone.9. Turn Off VPN
The downside of this is that a VPN may be the reason behind Instagram not working. A faulty VPN may not load the Instagram feed, you may experience a delay in sending or receiving messages, etc.
If you are using a VPN, turn it off to check whether Instagram is working again.10. Ensure Background Data Is Not Restricted (Android)
Instagram needs to be connected to the Internet to continuously update your feed, send/receive messages, and show you notifications regarding your post. For Instagram to run uninterrupted, you need to make sure the background data is not restricted.11. Check Your Phone’s Storage
If your Android or iPhone’s storage is low, you may experience issues with the Instagram app, such as Instagram continuously crashing or stopping. Learn how to check and free up storage on Android and iPhone.12. Log Out of Your Account
To fix the the issue with Instagram not working on your phone, you should try logging out of your account. To do so, open the Instagram app and go to your profile screen. Tap on the hamburger icon (three horizontal bars) followed by “Settings.”
Scroll down and tap on “Log out username.” Restart the phone and log in again.13. Check Common Error Messages and Known Issues
Like most other apps, Instagram also has a set of error messages and known issues, and this list is regularly updated so that users can find possible solutions to their daily issues with the app.
Note the error you see and do a search on Google to find out whether it’s already been handled. Most likely, other users have had a similar or same issue and found help.14. Try a Different Device or Tool
Usually, the issues with Instagram not working are only one the mobile app. So if Instagram isn’t working on your mobile device, try using the Instagram web version in a browser on your phone, or try using Instagram on a different device, like your computer.Still No Luck? Report the Issue to Instagram
If none of the steps listed here resolve the problem, report the bug from within the app to have Instagram investigate. Make sure you give a detailed response about the issue you’re facing, the device you’re using, and what you were doing before and when it stopped working. The same applies to issues with signing in to your account.
Open the Instagram app and shake your phone to report the problem.Frequently Asked Questions Will your Instagram account be deleted if you uninstall the Instagram app?
No. Uninstalling the Instagram app from your phone will not delete your account. It will only remove the app from your phone and won’t affect your followers, published posts, etc.How to fix Instagram notifications not working?
Open the Instagram app settings and go to “Notifications.”
On Android, turn off the toggle next to “Pause all.” Also, take a look at individual notification settings and see whether any one of them are turned off.
On iOS, ensure that the “Allow Notifications” toggle is enabled and that alerts are active. How can I fix the “Try again later” error on Instagram?
If you are getting a “Try again later” message in the Instagram app, it may be because Instagram banned you temporarily due to inappropriate activity from your account, such as using third-party tools to get more followers or likes. You can try the above fixes, link Facebook to Instagram, remove external links from your Instagram bio, or wait for a few days for the error to fix itself.
