Here I shall discuss how you can solve this error on your device using six simple methods.
If you cannot remove your printer from Windows 10, there might be some driver error which is making you unable to delete your printer. You might be able to fix this by deleting the printer driver from the Print Server Properties window in Windows 10.
To remove the printer from the Printer server, follow these steps:
Open Control panel. You can do this either from a Run dialog or from the control panel.
Change the view to Large or Small icons depending on your preferences, if you see it set to Categories.
Select your printer from the list of available printers.
Go to the Drivers
Select your printer from the list of installer printers.
Remove your printer driver and software from the Windows Settings app.
If you see that this method fails and you cannot remove printer in Windows 10, you need to stop the print spooler service.
The print spooler handles the print jobs sent to your printer and any error to the spooler service can lead to you getting the Windows 10 cannot remove printer error on your device.
Open a Run dialog by pressing Win + R.
Type services.msc and press Enter to launch the Services console.
Check the status of the service. If you see that it is already running, first stop the service using the Stop button.

Type %WINDIR%system32spoolprinters and press Enter to open the printer spool.
Delete all the files in the folder that opens.
Go back to the Services console, and open Print Spooler properties again.
Close the Services console and re-attempt removing the device from your computer.
Now you should be able to remove the printer easily from your device.
If you cannot remove a printer from your Windows 10 device, there might be some registry changes that you need to make before you are able to remove the printer itself.
To remove printer from registry, follow these steps:
Open a Run dialog by pressing Win + R.
ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrintPrinters
You will see that the Printers key in the left pane is expanded.
Restart your PC once you have deleted the key.

Open the Windows Search by using the keyboard combination Win + S.
Type Print Management, and select the first result from the list.
In the middle pane, locate your printer from the list of available printers.
This should allow you to delete your printer from your Windows 10 device.

Windows Installer Keeps Popping Up Or Starting, Preparing To Install
Does your Windows Installer process run every time you boot the Windows 11/10 device? Or maybe you are working, and it suddenly pops up randomly? Why does this happen? How do you stop it from running at random times in the background? This post takes a look at some scenarios & discusses your options.
Windows Installer Preparing to installThe Windows Installer or chúng tôi is a Windows OS component and an application programming interface, located in the System32 folder, that is used for the installation, maintenance, and removal of software. So when you see this process running, it definitely means that some software is being installed, changed, or uninstalled. Many software use the Windows Installer to carry out the installation process.
Windows Installer keeps popping upIf this is happening with your permission and knowledge, then it is fine – as you may be in the process of installing, uninstalling, or repairing your installed software. But if it is not, then you need to investigate further.
This post will probably raise more questions than answers – that is something you will have to answer for yourself – and that may show you the direction to work.
1] Terminate the process manually 2] Check Windows Installer version 3] Run System File CheckerMaybe your Windows Installer file has been corrupted. Run System File Checker and reboot once the scan is completed. See this post if Windows Installer Service can not be accessed.
4] Give it some time to runNow ask yourself, did you install any new software in the last day or two? If so maybe some background process or updating is still going on. Give the Windows Installer time to run and see if it shuts down after a while.
5] Check for PUPsWhen you installed the software, did it install any third-party offers? Check the Control Panel. Maybe they are being installed. Check if any software which you installed or updated recently, bundled other software. If so it may be using this process. You may want to uninstall unwanted applications.
6] Check msiexec.exeDid you download or install anything of doubtful value? Maybe something is installing Malware or a PUP on your system. Run a full scan with your antivirus software along with AdwCleaner, which is a good tool to remove PUPs, Browser Hijackers & Adware.
If chúng tôi is located in the C:WindowsSystem32 folder, then it is the legitimate Microsoft process. If it is located in any other folder, it could well be malware, as malware files can me named anything.

7] Re-register the Windows Installer engineYou may want also to consider re-registering the Windows Installer engine. To do so, open Command Prompt, type the following and hit Enter:
msiexec /unregisterNow to register it again, type the following and hit Enter.
msiexec /regserver 8] Run Program Install and Uninstall TroubleshooterDownload the Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter. This tool is the replacement for Windows Installer Cleanup utility which was discontinued. This tool will help you fix potential issues with Windows Installer.
Specifically, it will fix the following problems:
Problems that prevent new programs from being installed, uninstalled or updated

Essential Free Software Downloads For Windows
There are tons of free software applications that you can download for office productivity, Internet, multimedia, drawing, Windows utilities, etc, but if you’re not familiar with open source software, you might not know which program is the best out of the myriad of choices. That’s the only other downside about freeware: some of it contains junkware like bundled apps or annoying toolbars.
Table of Contents
In this article, I’m going to mention a couple of the websites that I visit quite often when looking for safe and clean freeware apps to download.
Gizmo’s Freeware ReviewsGizmo’s Freeware Review site has got to be the best site on the net for finding great freeware apps. There are a bunch of sites that have huge lists of freeware programs with tiny little overviews of each program, but Gizmo’s site is insanely popular because they spend time writing detailed reviews and testing each program that they review to make sure it works as intended.
You can navigate directly to a category across the top of the page like Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone/iPad, etc. Previously, they only used to cover Windows and Mac, but recently they have expanded to cover all the most popular operating systems.
In addition to all of that, the site has a blog with a huge number of articles on all kinds of useful technical topics. A lot of the articles they link to from their review pages and it gives you a very in-depth understanding of the topic.
NiniteSecondly, you should keep the installer somewhere on your computer instead of deleting it because running it again will automatically check all the freeware apps and download newer versions if available. If you already have the latest version installed, it will just skip that program. So using the installer is like having a free program that will update all your apps automatically too!
What I like best too is that it will install the 64-bit version of the software if I’m running the installer on a 64-bit operating system. This program is simply awesome and will save you a ton of time.
NirSoftIf you’ve read a decent number of my previous posts, you’ll know that I simply love the folks over at NirSoft. It’s basically a site with a bunch of tiny utilities designed for very specific tasks.
Want to copy video files that are stored in your browser cache? There’s a utility for that. Want to control the volume of your computer from the wheel of your mouse? There’s a utility for that. Want to see all the passwords stored in your browser? There’s a utility for that. You get the picture! There are over a hundred of these really useful utilities that work extremely well. They also contain no bundled crapware or anything else.
PortableAppsYou got a USB stick right? So why not installed PortableApps on there! It’s all your freeware apps stored on a USB stick that you can use anywhere on any machine. They have up to 300 legal versions of apps that have been retrofitted to run portably on a USB stick.
FileHippoFileHippo has been around for a very long time and it’s still one of the better sites for finding good freeware programs. What I end up using FileHippo more for than anything else is downloading older versions of programs. It’s not often, but there are times when you don’t want the latest version of a program. Maybe because it can’t run on an older system or because it has a bug that is causing problems on your system, so the only option is to download a earlier version.
Mentionable SitesOutside of these, there are a couple of other sites I visit, but they tend to contain the shorter overviews with no real reviews or anything else. Still you won’t find spyware or malware on these sites.
MajorGeeks – Looks like it was designed in the 90’s and probably has been around since then, but a great site for a lot of tech tools. Lots and lots of tech utilities that are hard to find anywhere else.
FileForum BetaNews – You can normally find the latest freeware apps here first before they reach other download sites. Not sure how they do it, but you’ll find the newest software here.
Sites to AvoidCNET is the worst because it makes you go through several screens trying to get you to install junkware before you can install the actual app you wanted to download. For me, it’s easy to avoid all of the junk, but a lot of people will end up with adware on their computer and have no idea why. Unfortunately, sites like chúng tôi which is the same as CNET, show up high in the search results, which makes them harder to avoid. Most anything on CNET you’ll be able to find on one of the sites I mentioned above. Enjoy!
